Okay, I am NOT dreaming- this is a real-life person- fish, hybrid thingy, Ah, I remember when I thought mermaids were real- CUT IT OUT MAL... I guess I know what to do. With a fearful look, she neared his tail which the net clung onto, She looked away, feeling a bit sad for him, That must hurt. She stared at the sand below him, it was stained with what could only be blood. She kneeled down, The feeling of being on sand that was seeped in blood made her feel nauseous as she had a weak stomach... But she wasn't going to leave him here to die, hybrid-human creature or not, Mal gently lifted one side of the net up and started to cut through it using her dagger.

He flinched as she approached him but only winced some more as he got cut again by the net. Cas could feel that he was low on energy from fighting against the net, and it showed as his chest lifted and fell quickly. He instead watched as the girl lowered her hand towards his tail and brought her weapon close as well. Caspian readied himself to feel the sharp "dagger", if that was what humans called it if he remembered right, in his tail but didn't. His eyes, which had been closed due to fear, slowly opened and he looked down to see the human cutting away at the net. This action reminded him of how he used his sharp teeth to cut netting off of turtles and other creatures before taking the trash down to the cove that he lived and store it in an old container he had found. He watched her now with fear in his eyes but also curiosity as he watched her cut away at the net.

Malorie roughly cut through the net, She thought it must have belonged to a fisherman whose net came loose and fell into the water, And then drifted onto the shore. Mal finally cut through, the net, and as she tried to scramble backward away from the 'creature' she tripped on a rock and fell, It wasn't much of a big deal but she was scared despite setting it free.
(a lil short sorry)

(It's ok) Once the net had been fully cut off of Caspian's tail he let out a small chirp as a thanks, even though he could speak English. He began to examine it after the girl had moved away and saw that there were some pretty bad gashes in his gray blue tail. One of the worst was in his dorsal fin which hurt pretty bad as well. Slowly Caspian pulled himself to the water with the little amount of energy he had left and tested his tail out in the shallow pool. He swayed it side to side and let out little squeaks of pain as he tried to swim. Cas's eyes went towards the horizon as the storm drew closer and laid his head down sadly in the shallow water, accepting his fate. Edited at May 8, 2023 05:36 AM by Paranormal Pastures

Malorie watched him carefully, The wounds on his tail looked bad, There was still an expression of fear that crossed her face, But her eyes kept wandering back, and forth, Watching as he pulled himself into the water, When she heard a squeal she instantly backed up more, Just to see they were shrieks of pain, Following his gaze, She looked at the storm, He won't survive out here, will he? Malorie sighed, In a scared, shaky voice she quickly asked, "Can you survive without water?" She murmured, It still felt almost unreal- this, everything, She edged closer to him, Still keeping her dagger clearout in front of her.

He lifted his head out of the water and moved his gray-blue hair some as he looked back at the human. He lowered his gaze to the ground seeing the dagger still in her hand, but also at the answer he had. "For a little while," he squeaked, his voice dry, "but I can go in almost any water source.. I just can't stay out forever or else my tail dries up too much." His gold eyes glanced up at the dagger before quickly looking towards the storm. The inky black clouds were approaching fast and was already engulfing the amazing sunset. (Sorry it's short :/ )

Malorie huffed, Then edged towards him, Peering down at the harsh gashes on his tail once again. "Alright...Im not going to leave you to die." She said, nervously glancing at the storm. "I can help you, but you've got to cooperate... Im sure you dont know what this is but ive got something in my researching-..cabin, that will esure your tail wont dry out." She said, Pausing, Mal was unsure of what to say next, was he really going to trust her? And know that she was thinking of it, he said not where he came from, were there more, fish-human-hybrid- creatures? "Grab my hand...I'll help you get there." Clearly he cant do it alone, especially not without legs, but maybe, well, maybe, he could suddenly turn human? as she'd seen in 'mermaid movies' they were often able to walk on land by 'shapeshifting' into a human once they hit the ground
(bathtub xd, its okay <3)

(rubadubdub fish man in a tub XD ) He listened as she spoke to him and smiled some as she said that she was going to help him. 'Maybe this human isn't so bad,' he thinks as he takes her hand. Merfolk were said by humans to have the ability to shift their tails into human legs. Sadly this was only partially true. Certain merfolk species were able to do this when they wished but others, like Caspian, only could do it on full moons like a werewolf. Even when they were able to walk on land they weren't too good at it and it only lasted til dawn, so they needed to stay near the water to not get landlocked. Cas sighed some as he prepared his body for the trek to wherever this "cabin" was. He suspected that it was farther up on the land and the storm was not getting there any slower. I'm laughing my ass off lol)
She slowly helped him towards her cabin, it was... large, for a cabin at least, fully made out of wood with 2 floors, one for actually living, and the other one.. was a mess of her research, the whole floor was basically her research board, she'd string up theories or ideas, it was a mess, but it was decorated nicely so it gave off that 'cozy' vibe. The cabin wasn't far out, but the storm was rolling in fast, She tried to quicken her pace. They had arrived at the cabin. She managed to open the door and stumble inside, literally dragging him with her, There were two bathrooms, and... after a few seconds of considering.. she decided to put him in the bigger one, (it's the thought that counts..). "Get in here, I'l run the water...-" She turned the faucet and the water started rolling out, unsure of what he was used to, he just put it in the middle. "Do not flood my bathroom- if you want to change the temperature just uh-" she leaned over close to the faucet "The blue means cold, and the red means hot, you can twist it to get it to the right temperature."

He helped as much as he could to help the girl get him to the cabin. He observed the cabin as they approached and once inside managed to look around a bit more. The place looked to be made of drift wood that was all the same shape and not all sorts of shapes like drift wood he had seen. 'It reminds me of those old shipwrecks,' he thinks, 'yes. That's what this is like! An old ship!' Caspian quickly followed her to the separate room and stared at the object that filled with water. He listened as the girl spoke and put his hands on the edges of the pool thing and hauled himself in. Some water must have gotten on the edge because Caspian fell in with a small splash and a thud. He rubbed his head before giving her a thumbs up to show he was ok. He carefully positioned himself and felt the water. It was a little warmer than normal and smelt more of freshwater than his usual saltwater. Cas just barely fit sitting up in the water with his tail submerged in the warm water while the rest of him stayed out of it.
