"Why?" Luca replied. "Because of this..." Luca gestures to the large ship behind her, made of some sort of wood, and had a mermaid bust on the bow, and the name engraved next to it. The Red Demon, it read. "My ship. Well not mine, per se, but close enough." Luca chuckled, then suddenly went stern as someone approached Sadie from behind.

Sadie marvelled at The Red Demon, her feet carring her another couple of steps forward to the edge of the docks. The vessel was magnificent in a way that had Sadie itching to take out her charcoal pencils and sketch it. "It's pretty awesome," she said. Her gaze shifted back to Luca and stiffened at the girl's hard expression. The back of her neck tingled and Sadie turned to see a figure behind her, darkened by the street lamp behind them.

"Go away." The voice echoed through the space between Luca and the man. There was suddenly tension in the air, as the man uttered those words. Luca took Sadie by the arm and pulled her behind herself. "Stay there." She whispered. "This could get ugly..." The sun was setting on the docks, and it looked picture-perfect compared to the scene unfolding. "What do you want, Farren? *" ~~ * (Farren 'The Fox' Southey)

Go away? Did this random guy just tell Sadie to go away?! Trying not to trip over her own feet as Luca pulled on her arm, Sadie turned her head to glare at the guy. But then she eyed Luca's protective stance and amusement, of all things, sparked in her chest. Sadie was a good few inches taller than her new friend and nearly twenty pounds heavier. However, the girl looked menacing enough, and Sadie wasn't all that keen to get into a punch up with a dude she didn't know. She'd also never punched a person in real life, but surely it wasn't that different to what she'd done in the krav maga self defence classes she sometimes took in the holidays. An idea struck in her mind, and she looked down, fumbling with the camera in her bag, turning the flash setting on. It was bright, and if something happened it would serve as a good distraction for them to make a run for it.

Suddenly looking at Sadie behind Luca, a surprised look came on Farren's face. "What-...?" He said, sounding confused. Taking the opportunity, Luca dragged Sadie away quickly, towards a group of young pirates, who were a part of Luca's crew. "Men, meet Sadie," Luca said with a smile, meeting the eyes of Nico.

Sadie stared at Farren in confusion as she was pulled away from him, her eyebrows raised in astonishment at the audacity of the girl. "Why the heck are you man-handling me?" She protested as she was thrust into a group of men. "Who was that man," she demanded pointing in the direction from which they came, "and who are these men?" She asked

"Calm down, this is my crew," Luca said and put on a reassuring smile. "And that was Farren, an old friend of mine. Needless to say, grudges were held." Luca grimaced. With her right hand, Luca signed for her crew to back of and give Sadie, herself, and the captain a little bit of space. "And this is Nico, my captain. You can him Captian for now.

Sadie nodded slowly, trying to comprehend being thrust into the deep end with all of these people and no backgrund information. For every minute that passed, another questioned popped into mind. "Hi Captain," she said, holding her hand out for a shake. She took him in, his firey red hair and his attire. He didn't look very captain-ly to her, but hey, what did she know about sailing, or by the look of these people, pirates...

Luca stood by, waiting for Nico and Sadie to finish talking. "Well, I guess I had better show you an inn Sadie?" Luca put a smile on, making sure she looked passive. "Or you could stay with us I guess, but we're going to be on our way soon."

Love the set, is it new? :) When Nico didn't say anything to Sadie, she turned to Luca. Her gaze shifted over Luca's shoulder to the nearby buildings as she contemplated the girl's words. In an inn, she should possibly find a scrap of safety, search for information, and possibly a way home. But if she really was in a different country, or different existence, then her money might not work here, in which case that would be pointless. Even if Luca loaned her some cash, it wouldn't tide her over for long, and Sadie would be left with a heavy sense of owing. To stick with the crew, Sadie guessed, would mean risking potential, or rather, probably inevitable danger. Her mind chose that moment to wander to her latest art assignment. The type of inspiration she was looking for could very well be found if she went with Luca. Or at least, she was more likely to find inspiration doing something that for her, was so far out of left field it wasn't even a stitch amusing. Standing there, Sadie decided that she needed to be more creative in her choices, so she looked Luca in the eye and smiled. "I think I'll come with you, if your offer is open."
