Sage glared at Roxie. "She's NOT my girlfriend! I don't know anything about her! Besides, I'm not dumb enough to fall in love. With her, or another mortal, or even another demon," he snapped. "Look, I started it, and it was stupid, but whatever Death is planning to do to her, he'll do it to me right along with her. Have you SEEN how mad he is?" He shook his head. "If I go apologize it won't help either of us. He's a jerk and you know it." Then he gasped and put a hand over his mouth in mock humbleness. "Oh, forgive me, I forgot you were one of his right-hand-men." He gave her a mock bow, his lips twisting into a snarl as he spoke. He didn't even mention having to feed on human souls. Human food would sustain him for a bit, especially meat. Even better if he could get it raw, like if he hunted. He had no issues with killing and feeding on humans, but he didn't want to let Maxine figure out what he was. Everyone hated him for it, and as little as he'd known her, he wanted someone to like him. He didn't even like himself. |

Roxie laughed "That's what everyone says..." She said rolling her eyes "Mortals and demons alike..." She chuckled before nodding "All the more reason to end it... You could save yourself..." She said pursing her lips as she knit her eyebrows together "Yeah and I'm the only thing keeping the other demons away... If you don't kill her by sundown we will take both of you by force... Quit playing these games and just get it over with... You may not think so but you care about her... So don't make her suffer being tortured by death in her life and afterlife." She said before disappearing just as Maxine came back downstairs "Hey... Everything okay?" She asked skeptically looking over him and studying his body language "You look pissy and on edge..." She admitted. |

He rolled his eyes. "I'm always pissy and on edge," he pointed out. Then he shook his head and sighed. "I can deal with it. It's just an old...acquaintance...came by for a visit." He scowled. "I'll go find her later." He wanted to know why Roxie was holding the other demons back. He hated to admit it, but she was right. But he wanted to keep Maxine alive. Maybe if he got those 1000 souls by killing 1000 people, Death would be more lenient towards her. His brow furrowed as he thought. |

Maxine smirked "I'm not surprised..." She smirked playfully before she gave a nod "Is she a stalker?" She teased with a chuckle before heaving a sigh her phone vibrating in her pocket "Crap..." She muttered "I gotta get those packaged paintings in the mail by tonight... I'm sorry... You're welcome to come back any time though." She assured him putting her phone back into her pocket "Here gimmie your hand..." She said pulling out a pen, once she had his hand she wrote her number down for him in her palm "You can text me too to let me know you're coming even." She smiled before she grabbed her bag and a few of the paintings that were already packaged "Can you get the door?" She asked "Please?" |

Sage chuckled and grabbed the door. "Go on. I'll be...around. I'm sure you'll see me at some point " Once the girl had walked away he farted around the corner and crossed his arms. "Roxie you'd better get your ass over here right now." |

Maxine chuckled "Just close the door when you leave!" She called as she ran out "Crap crap crap crap..." She muttered under her breath as she ran off with the packages. Roxie appeared in front of him "What?" She asked raising a brow "What do you need me for? To tell you yet again what I've already told you?" She asked crossing her arms. |

Sage snorted. "Don't act smart. If she's so valuable dead, and Death wants me in his grasp, why haven't you turned us both in yet? You know you could " Roxie was an elder demon, one of the most powerful. In a fight she could beat him since her powers were stronger |

"Because unlike Death I like to play with my toys instead of order them around." She winked playfully. "This game is especially fun... Death has never put out a bounty on a soul before..." She smiled her eyes full of excitement "I'm only telling you to kill her because unlike you I'm loyal to death... But I am loving this game..." She smirked "Unfortunately death says I can't play anymore..." She said pouting before two demons showed up on either side of Sage holding his arms back. They were big bulky guys too... Each with saber tooth tiger tusks that sprouted from their top and bottom lips where the rest of their razor-like teeth were hidden "Take him back to the building... I'll stay behind and wait for his playmates return." She assured playfully waving to Sage before he and his demon body guards disappeared. When he was brought back into the building he was looking death right in the face, his hair was just as white as his skin and his features were sunken in "Good evening Sage..." He said. He was in his human form which was rare for him. But his smile was still wicked. |

Sage rolled his eyes, showing his common annoyance at life while his heart skipped a beat and then sped up. He knew whatever was going to happen would be horrible, but he was determined not to let Death get any satisfaction. "It's afternoon, genius," he muttered, the only thing he could think of since his mind was racing a thousand miles a minute. He made up his mind to survive this so he could get back at Roxie, and georound his teeth together in anger. He had walked up to her, and had half expected that. He probably should have been somewhere he could get away easier. But oh well, he had Death to death with now. Wonderful. Although, currently his 'dealing with Death' was trying not to show the terror he felt. |

Death curled his lips into a smile "Only by a few minutes..." He said "Roxie tells me you've found a playmate... A mortal of all things... That mortal you were suppose to kill this morning no less..." He said simply "She'll be joining us soon enough." He smirked "And since you refuse to kill her you will watch as the other demons and I fix your mistake... Then you'll be banished to the depths of hell... Buried so far down you won't be able to climb back into the light again..." He said with a smirk "I hope you enjoyed your time in the sun..." He said clenching his fists to make him feel pain again "Cause you'll never see it again!" He shouted finally letting his hands fall into a relaxed position once again. |
