Mari rolled her eyes at the boy and his little antics before giving a bit a a laugh. "I'd bet you'd be so angry. Yelling at everyone for the littlest of things... well, I mean you do that anyways so not much of a difference." The girl then looked to the doctor with a smile. "You'd be awful pregnant too, you know. Thank heavens burger if you are women," the girl hummed lightly before looking back towards the boy. "I'd bet you'd be a really over protective dad, too. God it'd be so annoying. I've heard about how you first got Att. That was a random baby and you still got all funny about it," she mused lightly once she'd finished her food and when to put the plate back on the tray.

Sage huffed and rolled his eyes in response to the girl. Though, she wasn't wrong...he snapped at everyone, all the time. Well, except the people he liked. The doctor hummed in thought and then shrugged. "Good thing we're not going to get pregnant then," he hummed. Sage nodded and chuckled. "Glad it's not me popping out a whole human," he chuckled. Then he wrinkled his nose at the girl and stuck his tongue out playfully, just like he'd do to Anya. "I was gonna put him out of his misery, but then he did the same thing as my sister and .." he trailed off with a sheepish grin and shrug. "I got hooked." He'd finished the toastie by then and tossed the plate onto the tray too, before flopping back in the coach.

Mari stuck her tongue out in response to the boy before nodding in agreement. Both of them would be so difficult if they'd somehow accumulated a way to carry a child - and it seemed as though they all agreed about that fact. Or a child at all, to be honest. The doctor looked after Sage like he was his own son, and she could only imagine how overbearing he would have been if the boy was any younger. Sage with Att when he'd first gotten him, actually. The two of them were very similar in that aspect, she supposed. "I'm going to go get these plates cleaned up... I'll be back in about half an hour to help out with cleaning the table," she hummed lightly as she went to grab the trolly.

Sage nodded and then stood up. "I'll help clean the dishes," he hummed. "I have nothing better to do." He went to follow the girl out of the room waving to the doctor as he went. "I'll be back later dad," he hummed, and the doctor grunted out an "ok" before they both went still and stared at eachother for quite a few moments, faces turning rapidly redder. Well...he hadn't meant to say that. And the doctor hadn't meant to so casually respond. But...it did make him feel warm and fuzzy, he could admit that. Then the doctor turned back to his paper and cleared his throat while Sage turned and practically pushed the girl out the door at the same time. "We're leaving now," he squeaked to the girl. Both men were quite obviously embarrassed, but they both had sparks too.

Mari looked between the two men for a moment, her normal little smile getting wider and wider as time went on. She was desperately trying not to burst out laughing, because it seemed like the two were having a moment... but that didn't stop the slight squeak that escaped her lips. She bit her cheeks as Sage shoved her out the room before letting a very amused laugh escape her. "Dad," she yelped as she leaned on the trolly, slowly pushing it forwards. "You called him dad!" The girl mocked as her small giggles chortles escaped her. She looked back to Sage, still trying her hardest not to laugh in his face, but it didn't work... not when he saw how red he was. "God, you look like a lobster!" She squeaked as she tried to get a bit of control over her breathing.

Sage could only feel himself reddening even more as the girl laughed about the whole situation. It had been rather amusing, but right about then he was mostly just really, really embarrassed. He hadn't meant to say that...but he supposed it could have been worse, and the doctor was like a father for him. The doctor hadn't seemed to mind either, and he'd gotten just as red so really it definitely could have been worse. "yes, yes, I know, I blush a lot," he huffed. "He was just as red," he complained, stomping along behind the girl. He wasn't upset at her, or at the situation, he was just embarrassed. "And shhh," he hissed. "He can probably still hear you giggling!"

The girl couldn't help her stupid giggles when the boy shushed her, and she really did try. "Aw, it was funny!" She chirped as she finally started to calm down a little bit... she still let out small chuckles every moment or so, but it was finally stopping. "You embarrassed each other," she hummed lightly, "it was sweet," she tried to convince him, but really she just found it funny. They eventually made it to the kitchen, and Maria was only just getting her breath back. "I'll wash, you dry," she hummed after a moment or two, going to grab the plates and cutlery and stacking them next to the sink as she ran some hot water and soap.

Sage snorted and huffed out a breath of air at the girl's amused comments. "It was not," he protested in a sort of whiny tone. It had been a bit funny, now that the heat was fading off of his face a bit. Though, it heated right back up again when the girl practically called him sweet. He nodded and reached for a towel at the girl's comment about the dishes, the blush slowly fading from his face as they began to work. Well...maybe something would come out of this. They treated eachother like family, so really nothing much would change. (What if Sage's dad comes into the castle one night to try and take him again, and gets killed, and the doctor adopts Sage? That would add some spice to the plot and I think it would be sweet haha)

(Aw, yeah I like that!) The girl rolled her eyes at him again... it was sweet, and he knew it was. She remembered him saying something about how he didn't really get along with his father... so to have someone he thought of as a father figure really seemed like a comfort to the boy. And the doctor, too for that matter. He liked having someone looking up to him. She let the whole thing go after a little while, and kind of just got to work washing up. It was all done shortly... which she was surprised about, to say the least. But she supposed it was because she had some help. Once she was done, she went to flick some water at Sage with a childish grin on her face before draining the little basin. "Do you think the doctor will give me a few days a week off?" She asked after a moment or two. "I'm not sure I'm going to be able to keep this job while the queens gone... I need to pick up something else in case lose it," she shrugged after a moment or so.

Sage worked away cleaning dishes, and the action brought him back to the tavern in his mind. It almost seemed unreal now...doing dishes like this all night long, and sweeping, and just working like that for so long. It made the chores here so much easier, he supposed.. but he always almost expected more in the back of his head. He set the last plate down to put them away and shrugged in response to the girls question. "I don't think he'll particularly care what you do," he hummed. "If he needs help he'll just drag me along with him," he chuckled. Then he cocked his head slightly. "What else would you do though?" He didn't really know what the girl was thinking of doing. There were plenty of jobs in the castle, but there were also a lot in the marketplace and in town. She could pass as someone with a good enough ranking to get a decent job...she worked for the queen, after all. "You could always just work for the doctor and forget the queen. She's a jerk anyway," he pointed out. Maybe he should stop being so blunt about the queen, but he didn't really care at this point.
