(Sorry for the slow reply I was a bit busy)

The nurse nodded gently at Tucker's words, "I see. It's our job to help him, he is our alpha after all and we are trained to help anyone that is hurt." She paused for a moment, reading the stress on Tucker's face, before asking in a gentle tone, "Maybe you should go change and wash up. I can meet you by the stairs and take you to the medical bay to wait on alpha Kyle's medical report."
Meanwhile Kyle was rushed into the medical area and sent straight to the surgery room. They hooked all sorts of medical devices up to him to stabalize his health as well as cut away his clothes. Once everything was prepped the doctor and nurses began to tend to his largest wounds.

(No worries!)
Tucker’s mind raced as the nurse spoke, her gentle voice cutting through the fog of his thoughts. He could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on him, but her calm demeanor was a small anchor amidst the chaos.

“Yeah, you're right,” he muttered, his throat tight. He wanted to do something, anything, to help Kyle, but there was nothing he could do right now. Not until he got a report. “I’ll— I’ll go change. Just... make sure he’s okay. Please.”

Tucker’s eyes flickered to the door of the medical area, where he knew Kyle had been rushed through, and he clenched his fists at his sides. The sight of his alpha in such a vulnerable state, already fighting for his life... it felt like a punch to the gut.

“Meet you by the stairs,” Tucker managed, his voice a little more strained than he intended, before he turned on his heel and walked away. His body moved on autopilot, but his mind stayed locked on Kyle, replaying the moment they found him, the blood, the sheer danger.

He stripped quickly when he reached his quarters, standing in front of the mirror for a second, not recognizing the person staring back. He looked like a man out of control.

With a deep breath, Tucker washed his face, trying to shake off the panic gnawing at him. He couldn’t afford to lose it. Not now. Not with Kyle's life hanging in the balance.

A few minutes later, he walked toward the stairs, his stomach a tight knot, thoughts of the surgery room and Kyle’s condition clouding every step.

The nurse waited for Tucker once he walked upstairs. Once he walked back downstairs she smiled kindly at Tucker and lead him to the waiting room. She then walked away for a moment, once Tucker was seated, and returned after a few minutes with a steaming cup. "Here," she says, sitting it on the table beside Tucker, "chamomile tea. It helps best when you are stressed, which you obviously are with how stiff you are." She then paused for a moment before adding, "Alpha Kyle will be ok, I promise you. Our medics are the best in our area of the city."
In the surgery room Kyle's surgery was going smoothly. His largest wounds were being sealed as the smaller ones were being treated by nurses. Blood bags were brought in to give to Kyle due to the amount of blood loss from his wounds.

Tucker couldn’t help but feel tense, every muscle in his body coiled as he followed the nurse through the hospital. His mind was a storm of worry, thoughts spiraling around Kyle, wondering how bad the damage was, if he was going to be okay. But when he reached the waiting room and the nurse kindly sat the cup of chamomile tea down beside him, his hands clenched. He wanted to be anywhere but here, but the nurse's words lingered in his mind.

“Chamomile tea," she said, her voice calm and reassuring. "It helps best when you’re stressed."

He eyed the steaming cup, the warmth inviting, but he couldn’t bring himself to pick it up just yet. He wasn’t here for tea; he was here for Kyle. The Alpha was his responsibility, his charge, and he should be the one by Kyle’s side, not stuck in some sterile waiting room, unable to do anything. But the nurse continued, offering words meant to comfort him, even as they seemed to pull him further into his own worries.

“Alpha Kyle will be ok, I promise you,” she said, as if she could see right through his facade of controlled panic. "Our medics are the best in our area of the city."

It was hard to believe her assurances. Kyle was strong—he always was. But this? This was different. Tucker had seen the blood, heard the cries of pain. He had held him together when things seemed to fall apart. And now, as he sat in this cold room, he couldn’t help but feel the weight of it all.

He ran a hand through his hair, glancing back at the nurse who had stepped away for a moment. He wanted to believe her, wanted to find some hope in the idea that the medics here could handle it. But until he saw Kyle awake, until he could touch him again, he knew he wouldn’t be able to relax.

The tea sat there, still untouched. The only thing Tucker could do now was wait.

The nurse looked at Tucker, waiting for him to say or do something. When nothing happened after a moment she let out a small sigh. She was then called into another room to help tend to one of the other pack members that had gotten hurt in the fight.
Kyle's surgery was getting finished up. The nurses were wrapping the remaining wounds and his torso area to keep his stitches more protected. They then transfered him onto a coushioned bed and rolled him into a hospital room. The doctor then stepped out into the waiting area, after getting cleaned up, and pulled up a chair in front of Tucker. "Kyle is out of surgery now," the doctor says in a calm tone, "everything went smoothly. He had multiple deep cuts on his torso then a mixture of claw marks and bite marks on his arms and legs. He's resting now in one of the rooms, would you like to go sit in there with him?"

Tucker sat silently, his hands clenched tightly in his lap, staring down at the floor as the nurse walked away. His mind was swirling with everything that had just happened, the sounds of the fight echoing in his head, the images of the blood and the violence. His thoughts kept returning to Kyle—how he'd seen him, injured, nearly lifeless in the chaos.
When the doctor came into the room, Tucker barely looked up at first, still lost in the haze of his thoughts. The calmness in the doctor's voice felt distant, as though it was coming from someone else's reality. Kyle was out of surgery. He had survived. But the image of the damage done to him, the deep cuts and brutal marks, was still fresh in Tucker's mind.
Tucker took a slow breath, his throat tightening. "Yeah," he said finally, his voice a little rough. "I... I want to see him."
He stood up, his legs feeling a little unsteady beneath him, but he forced himself to move. He had to be there. Kyle was still alive, still fighting, and Tucker wasn't going to leave him alone. Not now. Not ever.
"Thanks," he added quietly to the doctor, his gaze still fixed on the ground as he followed the doctor to Kyle's room.

The doctor nodded as Tucker said that he wanted to be with Kyle. He lead Tucker down the hall to one of the rooms and opened the door for him. "There's a chair over there you can move to wherever you please," the doctor says, motioning to the chair then to a closet, "in there is a small cot you can use if you would like to sleep in here with him. If you need anything push the button on the side table once, if there is an emergency press and hold it." Once Tucker was in the room and had acknowledged the doctors words he closed the door and left.
Kyle was laying on the bed resting, a heart monitor and IV stand beside the bed. The monitor beeped as it tracked his heart rate, which was average. His chest rose and fell in a gentle way as he slept. He wore basic hospital clothes, though bandages were visible on his arms where some wounds were.

Tucker walked into the room, his eyes immediately drawn to Kyle. A lump formed in his throat as he saw him lying there, pale and still, hooked up to the heart monitor and IV. He hated seeing him like this. His heart rate was steady, but that didn't bring the relief he wanted. There was a pit in his stomach, gnawing at him, telling him it wasn’t enough.
Tucker turned to look at the chair the doctor had pointed to, then the cot in the closet. He didn’t even think twice. He didn’t need a chair; he just needed to be close to Kyle. He moved over to the bedside and gently pulled the chair closer, as if getting just a few inches nearer would make a difference.
The quiet beeping of the heart monitor was almost too much. Tucker kept his focus on Kyle, watching the slow rise and fall of his chest. He could hear the rhythmic sound of the machine, but it only served as a reminder of how fragile Kyle was right now.
Tucker sat down, keeping his eyes trained on his friend. He wasn't leaving. Not now. Not ever. If Kyle could hear him, he'd make sure he knew that. He would be here, even if he couldn't fix things. Even if he couldn’t make the pain go away, he could stay.
His fingers hovered over the button the doctor had shown him, but for now, he didn’t need anything. Not until Kyle woke up. Just being here was enough.

While Kyle slept in the hospital bed, his wolf was wide awake inside of him. When Tucker entered the room Kyle's wolf got excited to see him. This excitement turned into sadness when the wolf realized that he couldn't play with Tucker until Kyle was feeling better. The wolf tried to wake Kyle up or atleast make him move something. It soon gave up though and just listened as Tucker moved around the room. He could sense their mate sitting beside them and the amount of stress coming off of him.

Tucker stepped into the room quietly, not wanting to disturb Kyle, but he could feel it the second he did—the change in the air. Kyle’s wolf stirred inside him, awake and alert, a buzz of energy rippling through the air between them. That familiar spark, the pulse of his mate's wolf calling out for connection, made Tucker’s chest tighten. He could sense the wolf’s excitement, feel its yearning to break free, to come out and play like it always did when they were together.
But there was something else, too—something softer, more subdued. The wolf was frustrated. Tucker could almost hear its disappointed sigh, an ache that grew as it realized Kyle was still out of commission. The wolf tried—desperately tried—to stir Kyle, to wake him up, but it was no use. The human part of him was too far gone in sleep, too deep in recovery.
The wolf gave up eventually, resigned to its stillness. Tucker sat down beside the bed, knowing the wolf was still listening, still aware of him. The quiet room felt heavy with the weight of their bond, the connection that stretched between him and the wolf, between him and Kyle. He could feel the sadness rolling off of the wolf in waves, a longing for the playful banter they shared, for the energy that came when they were both fully present. But there was something else, too—something Tucker hadn’t expected.
The wolf’s sadness wasn’t just about the lack of play—it was the quiet worry, the same anxiety that gnawed at Tucker’s insides. He could feel it—*Kyle’s* stress, too, the tension in his still body, the unspoken fear and the weight of his injury. Tucker let out a breath, trying to soothe the both of them. Kyle would wake up when he was ready. The wolf would have to wait a little longer. They’d wait together.
