"Sounds good." She tucked the book into her bag, leaving the bag on the couch. "We bringing Dutch?" She asked, giving the dog a pat as she walked by to rebrush her hair, now that it was dry. She tossed it back over her shoulder and waited for his answer.

He nodded as he walked over to the door, waiting for her, Dutch at his side, his arms holding each other as he leaned on the wall. His head was down. He wasn''t sure if he was hungry, his stomach kind of upset. Why? Because Heather kissed him. Why? He didn't know, it wasn't like he and Mercy were together. It just felt a little wrong. ..A lot wrong.

Mercy looked at him. She wanted to say something bright and cheery that would lighten the mood, but her brain... didn't cooperate. She ended up giving him a small smile and leading the way out into the hallway. She hated awkward silences. She cleared her throat as she walked side by side with Luke until they got to the Cafeteria. "I think I see Laura. Im gonna go talk to her." She said quietly, walking off to find her.

He nodded, walking off to sit at a quiet table. He sat down with his left hand on his forehead and his right one laid out on the table. Laura looked up at Mercy, waving with a small smile brightening her face. L "Howdy Mercy!"

"Hi, Laura." She said, sounding a bit down. "You wanna go sit with me and Luke? I don't want him to be lonely." She huffed, glancing over at him. "And you know how to break up awkward silences better than I do."

She nodded with a kind expression, standing up with her plate of food to walk with Mercy. She looked at the two of them and stared for a minute. L "Whats wrong with you, Luke?" He looked up at her in a very exhausted manner. L "You look like shit." He rolled his eyes. "You try getting drugged heavily." Laura gave him a very surprised expression. L "These shitters found drugs? Awesome. But also not awesome. Who did it?" He shook his head. "I don't know, her name was Heather, blonde hair, an inch shorter than Mercy." He explained in a very patchy and hesitantly worded way. He was way too tired for like. Laura narrowed her eyes. L "What a bitch. I don't know her personally but I've heard she's a bit of a .....flirt?" She said in a questionable manner, taking a bite of her sandwich.

Mercy settled in quietly beside him. She was also... very not fond of Heather. An expression similiar to a scowl sat on her face as the topic came up. She crossed her arms and looked off at the other people in the room. "Ah. Flirt is one way to put it." She scoffed, smiling bitterly at the thought.

He let his head hang again with a growly sigh. Laura changed the subject. L "Whats wrong with your hand?" She asked Luke, filled with curiosity. He looked up, slightly surprised. "What do you mean?" She glared. L "I know something is wrong with it man. And I'm pretty sure you're right handed." He glanced at Mercy. Edited at June 30, 2023 04:03 PM by Prismatic Cove

"Luke got into a fight with his ex." Mercy said simply. "She was kind of a bitch." She shrugged, looking down at her hands. All of the topics Laura were picking were so far ZERO help. Mercy continued to observe the other people that were around.

L "Awesome. She stab you?" Her excitement was amusing. He rolled his eyes and grinned. "No actually, she used her fricken talon nails to rake my skin off." He said plainly. L "Holy shit, and she got deep enough to make your hand not work? Why?" He put his other hand on the table now, looking at Laura. "Sssshee was Misted." He gave a slight smile. Laura gave this horrified look.
