He nodded as he listened to what Camron had to say before looking around for something more sturdy to set the chess board up on. Upon hearing Camron say that he could help get something Mal nodded towards a smaller side table near a corner, which he would drag outside to paint on at times. "Could you grab that please," he asks the other, "I think it should be a good height for us to set up the chess board on." ~ (Lol, I learned chess because my siblings learned it but even today I have to Google what pieces move where because I can't remember something like that. I've never learned to play go and I was confused on what it was until I Googled it and remembered I played it online once but was terrible at it)

[He continued to keep an eye on Malcolm as he sat. Camron looked at the table as he heard Malcolm speak before standing, "Yep," he walked over to it before picking it up a bit and bringing it over to Malcolm, "is here okay?" He looked over the table a little bit, "I have to admit, this does seem like a good table for games like chess." He took his attention back to Malcolm as he stopped staring at the table.] - (I remember playing chess when I was younger, I was like eight and going to a chess club meeting lol. I do remember first playing go, I would just put my pieces along the board randomly because I didn't understand it, now I can play a pretty good game against someone. On a side note, sorry, I really didn't know what to reply with, I waited till the last minute to post (I'm about to go to bed) and I am extremely tired out of nowhere so the post is quite- dry-? I don't know a good word- sorry about that-)

He nodded as he turned his attention back to Camron as he sat the table down. "Yep that's perfect," he says before nodding at his comment about the table being good for playing chess. Malcolm then sat down on the cushioned bench that was at the front of his bed, which he could have been sitting on earlier but preferred the bed. He then carefully opened tried to open the chess box before realizing that the task was quite difficult with one good hand. "Could you open this please," he asks Camron as he frowns down at the box. ~ (Lol it's ok. And yes I think "dry" is a good word to describe it. Not in a bad way though! I was just confirming that that is a good descriptive word.)

[Camron watched him sit. He was about to say something as he watched Malcolm begin to try to open the box but stopped as he listened to what Malcolm had to say. "Yep, sure can." He gently grabbed the box as he frowned slightly seeing the frown on Malcolm's face as he looked at the box. He honestly didn't know why he truly cared, he didn't want to, yeah, he enjoyed spending time with him, it was just annoying how much he cared about his emotions, facial expressions, or body language, yeah, it is certainly useful for the job to be able to read body language. He sighed not wanting to waste too much mental energy as he carefully opened the box, "do you want me to set it up for you?" He moved his gaze from the board inside the box to malcolm.] - (I always try to get a post sent before bed and I just had quite the day x.x I am quite exhausted and I honestly don't know how this post turned out, I'll find out tomorrow, sorry if it's bad, i really don't know, tomorrow I'll try to pay more attention to the post, I am just very drained tonight, apologies)

Mal watched as Camron opened the box, with ease obviously since he didn't have a broken arm unlike himself. He cursed at himself in his head some, annoyed that he had to be in this position, before looking back at Camron. "What? Oh- Yes you can set it up too," he answers as he snapped out of his thoughts, "you could probably set it all up faster than I could any way." His gaze went down to the open chess box. The actual chess board and pieces were hand carved out of wood and painted a dark blue and dark brown, brown to keep the natural wood look and blue because that was his family's color. ~ (It's ok! You don't have to always post before bed you know. I wouldn't mind waiting.) Edited at October 12, 2023 05:12 AM by Paranormal Pastures

[Camron watched him before nodding, he looked to the board before glancing at Malcolm again after hearing the second part of what he said about being able to set it up faster, he wanted to say something but just stayed quiet as he took the board out and began to put the pieces in their respective places. "These pieces are quite beautiful." He set down a couple of the pawns as he spoke, "I had a very simple looking plastic set growing up, it was just plain black and white, I have to say, I love the blue that this set has, the colors are nice." Camron set down the last pawn before looking up at Malcolm. "All set up."] - (well the thing is I prefer to post before bed on weekdays since I have no motivation in the morning and I'm busy all day unless I post on my lunch break, I just post before bed because I normally have thirty minutes after taking my melatonin before it kicks in, other than lunch breaks and before bed I can only really post on the weekends and that would be kind of challenging in my opinion. Hopefully that all made sense- I am on mobile which makes it hard to go over whatever I just typed easily-)

He nods as he watches Camron set up the board and make the comment about how the set looks. "Thank you. I've had this since I was a kid," he explains, "it came as a gift from my parents when they traveled to a different kingdom. When they had arrived there the ruler of that kingdom ordered a gift be made for them and the finest carpenter there made this set. Of course my parents loved it but they handed it over to me when they returned because they knew I would enjoy it more than they would." Mal looked over the board once more to ensure everything was good before nodding. "Well you're my guest," he says, "therefore you should go first. I insist." ~ (No, that makes quite a lot of sense and is understandable. I usually reply in the morning on weekdays before school and around the afternoon for weekends.)

[Camron listened to the story before nodding slightly at his request for him to go first. Camron moved a pawn forward before speaking, "Well, that kingdom's carpenter truly is talented." He glanced at the board, "I don't know if my family still has it but when I was younger my sister bought the board her and I shared, she wanted to play more games but our father was strict and thought stilly card games or board games would rot her brain so she bought a chess board to please our father with a strategy game since none of our other sisters wanted to take an interest in it I learned chess to play with her, our father occasionally played against us but it was normally just us two or a childhood friend playing."] - (Yeah, I used to reply in the mornings or after I got home but I have no motivation for anything in the mornings (like I said) and right after school I'm normally role playing with a friend and I used to reply when I was role playing with her but I started to get personalities mixed up so Camron would randomly almost be a squirrel brain- glad I caught those mix ups-)

He listened as Camron mentioned the carpenter who had made the chess board and nodded in agreement to him. As Camron spoke Mal moved one of his own pawns forward and waited for the other to move. He listened to Camron's story as they continued to play their game. ~ (Sorry it's so short, I wasn't sure what to say. Also that's understandable. I've almost got characters mixed up before.)

[Camron watched his move before moving his knight forward. "I have not played chess in about a year, this is oddly calming." He stared at Malcolm quietly as he waited his move. The moment reminded him heavily of him as his sister playing, it was always calming and nice, the problems just kind of slipped away since you were focused on the game.] - (It's fine, also sorry my post kind of sucks- I didn't know what to say- it is also kind of short-)
