The girl smiled lightly to the boy when he dissed the queen... she knew a lot of people didn't think an awful lot of her, but she really did so much for the kingdom. More than the king did, and Mari supposed she was just stressed... the woman had always been fairly kind to her, but she'd also seen her blow up at a lot of people. "I think it should be written down somewhere... but you only need one parent for the foal to come out grey. It really could be anyone," she chuckled lightly before shaking her head. Though, she was putting her money on a blood bay stallion that sat in the fields... it had a blaze very similar to the little grey filly. Well, she was mostly grey... but she was still very, very dark, so she still has a few patches of white here and there.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "I have a few boys in mind," he hummed. "some parts look pretty similar to stallions." He scooted out from under the foal, who popped her head up to give him a look. "Well I can't stay here forever," he huffed, looking at her. She just blinked and he scowled. "Don't give me that look," he whined. They stared at eachother for a moment before he sighed and reached for snowballs halter. "Fine, you can come with me," he groaned. He slipped the halter onto the mare and clipped a lead rope into it, leading her out of the stall. The filly followed, staying close to mom. "It'll do them good to walk around a bit anyway," he sighed, this time talking to Mari.

The girl nodded lightly and took a slight step away from the mother and foal as Sage lead them out of the stable... in truth, she was still pretty scared of them. They just weren't so intimidating while laying down, she supposed. She stuck to the same side as Sage, a sheepish smile on her face as she watched the boy walk for a moment before looking forwards with a type of mocking smile... though, it was definitely fond. "You talk to them a lot, you know. I don't know what on earth about, because they don't talk back," she told him with a bit of a laugh, though it was a definitely a bit of a forced laugh.

Sage glanced over at the girl and chuckled. "They talk...just not like us," he hummed. "They have their own special way of communicating. You just have to pay attention to it." He shrugged slightly, a light blush appearing on his face. "Besides, they don't judge me because of my rank," he admitted softly, leaning into the mare outside a paddock, looking at the stallions in them. A nose reached over the fence and nudged him heavily, jerking him away from the mare a bit. He whirled around to come face to face with chaos. The stallion had no intention of looking at the mare...he just looked jealous. Sage put his hands on his hips and glared at the stallion. "You prick," he yelped, and the stallion tossed his head with a snort. Sage poked the stallions face lightly, then, huffing "be nice" to the stallion. "I'll stand in between you, alright? Geez " He gave the girl a rather amused look, and rolled his eyes as the black stallion hovered over his shoulder. The filly came right up then, pushing in-between him and the stallion, much to his amusement. He slid around in-between the horses, putting a hand on both the filly and the stallion. "I only have two hands snowball," he whined when the mare looked in his direction.

The girl chuckled lightly and shook her head at the boy. "I don't judge your rank - neither does the doctor," she hummed gently. OK, so she didn't really know much about the boy's rank - but he had to be similar to hers, right? And there was no reason to judge your own rank. "And horses are probably some of the most judgemental animals I've ever met. I mean, look at Snowall!" She chuckled while looking at the mares... less than pleased look on her face as the stallion came bounding over to them. She, of course, took a step or so back from the little crowd, but smiled as she watched the two... well, four interact. It was nice to see, especially considering it made Sage so... happy, she supposed.

Sage snorted out a laugh and nodded. "Maybe we should move on," he giggled, patting chaos and heading off again, the mare and foal following him. "They certainly can be judgmental," he hummed. "But I think it's more of a 'hey you have that horse a carrot I want one too' thing rather than 'youre the lowest of the low and I hate you for it'," he chuckled lightly. "As long as you feed them they could care less about anything else." He stopped by another paddock, this one sectiones off with three different stallions. "I'm between the blood bay and the gray," he hummed. They both looked similar to the filly, so he could see either one.

The girl cocked her head at the two stallions and then looked back to the little filly... the grey was huge. Both in height and build... and this little thing was so... spindly and that wasn't just because she was a foal. "I'm saying the bay. The grey is too big," she hummed lightly before looking back towards Sage with a grin. "But I'm sure there are papers somewhere," she hummed with an amused chuckle. They probably didn't need to be out here... but it certainly was nice to see the little foal out. "Sherlock, I think his name is," she added with a bit of a hum. She probably had work to do up in the castle... so she did need to get back inside. She couldn't afford to slack off here just trying to figure out a fillies sire when she should be working... she was already working to keep her job... and she couldn't afford to lose it over something so silly.

Sage hummed in agreement. They didn't know how large the filly would be...she was barely a day old. He shrugged and chuckled. "I'm gonna call her Mystery. It makes sense no matter what the sires name is," he hummed. "And if it is Sherlock, it would make sense for that too." He looked down at the filly with a grin. "What do you think," he cooed to the foal, who stick her nose out to explore his face since it was next to her as he crouched down. He giggled and oatter her before standing up and nodding. "That's settled then," he chirped. "Why don't we put these guys back and then I can go feed them all...it's about that time and chaos gets bitchy if he gets hungry," he hummed, rather amused at the thought.

Mari nodded lightly to the boy in agreement. It was a good name... and the foal was a bit of a mystery. She could definitely agree she was small still... she'd come early and was less than twenty-four hours old, but she just wasn't big-boned... not from what she could see. But then again, she was awful with horses so she couldn't be sure. Sage seemed to have more of an idea about him, though. "Yeah, alright," she hummed lightly. "I need to get back to the ward... it's about that time he eats too... and I'd like to bet he gets just a bitchy," she chuckled in amusement as she followed the boy along... she found she did that quite a lot. Just followed people as they did their normal tasks. It might be because that'd been what she'd done for the last five or so years... just followed the queen around all day. It was all she knew how to do, to be honest... just wandering around and waiting to be told what to do, even if it was by this boy.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "But she's a sweet mystery," he chirped happily. Then he nodded and hummed thoughtfully. "I'll have to head back up there at some point too. The doctor will want to see I'm alive," he mused, rather amused at the thought. "I'll just feed and water everyone quick and then I'll be up." He was well rested...he'd slept quite well with the horses, which was kind of ironic. But he was rather hungry, he wasn't going to lie.
