Mari chuckled lightly and rolled her eyes at the old man before standing up and grabbing his plate and cutlery from the sink. She didn't mind people clearing their own things up, not at all, but she was, well, a maid. Cleaning up after people was her job, so she could at least take his plate away. "I see, so he's like a dog," she hummed in amusement as she went to put his plate on a tray. "Well, he's going to eat for me. He's gonna be huge by the time I'm done with him," she chuckled lightly before giving the old man a bit of a wave as she went to collect the rest of the plates... the other boy would be awake in a little bit, so she could go put the plates away and he'd hopefully be up by the time she got back.

The doctor chuckled and nodded, waving to the bright young girl as she practically bounced out of the office. She was a good one...her personality was a lot like the princess's, only she was less quick to judge sometimes. She hadn't grown up as spoiled as Anya, and kept that personality trait in the back of her mind. Sage was lucky to have her here to help him out, and so was he....the girl did a lot of things for him, and her cooking was quite amazing so that was always nice. He settled back down in his chair with a sigh, amusement twinkling in his eyes. Sage was still asleep during their conversation, and when he woke up, he groaned slightly and peeked out of the covers before retreating back into them. He was warm for once, and cozy...and he was still half asleep at that point, so no way was he getting up right then.

The girl got back in about ten minutes, more than determined to get some food into Sage. She poked her head into his little room, only to see him shift under the blankets. She rolled her eyes and gently knocked on the side of his bed... well, not gently, it was actually pretty aggressive. "I know you're awake," she cooed lightly, as she went to poke his side through the mountain of blankets. He'd be tired, though... and she knew that. But food would help him out a little. "The doctor is saying you need to eat. You can't refuse him, now can you?" she hummed lightly before grabbing the plate on the side... it was still piping hot. To be honest, she rather liked seeing the boy out with the horses - he seemed a lot happier out there than in here, which was a change from... well, his entire personality while he was in the castle. He was friendlier and more amenable, and she knew that just from what she'd seen.

Sage groaned when the girl knocked on the side of the bed, though he wriggled away with a squeak when she poked his side. He peeked out from his little (well, not so little, he was wrapped up in a lot of blankets) cocoon and gave the girl a rather pouty face. "I can indeed," he huffed. But...it did smell rather good, and it was warm and the girl was a good cook. Ugh, he was starving. Well, not actually starving, of course, but he was really, really hungry. So he sort of reached for the plate and dragged it under the blankets with him. "It's cold out there," he grumbled in a complaining manner. Though he ate quickly and set the plate on the table. He let there for a moment as the food got to his head, then he yelped and sat upright. 'ok thanks I gotta go finish with the horses," he called back to the girl as he sprinted out of the doctors ward. He slowed quickly, since he didn't have much energy to run, however.

Mari chuckled lightly when the boy dragged the plate into his cocoon... it almost looked like an animal dragging its food back into its layer. She waited for him to scoff the food before taking his plate. She watched him run off and chuckled to herself before taking the plates off to the kitchen to wash off. She could probably get herself home after this... it was still early, but they'd done evening medication and everyone was all settled. It took about half an hour to walk through the village and to her home, and she'd really like to get there before it was dark. She finished washing up and grabbed the leftover food before going back to the ward and asking the doctor to go early... he, of course, agreed so she skipped off towards the gates, but not before going past the stables to make sure the little filly was alright... she was standing now, and happily suckling from her mother. It was good... the mare was eating, too. They were both settled, and it was definitely nice to see.

Sage ran most of the way to the barns, as best he could...though, by the time he got there he'd had to sit down and catch his breath before actually doing any work. Once he'd caught his breath though, he staggered to his feet and went about the barns to finish feeding the rest of them, and then brought feed out to the paddocks. He fed Chaos last, so he could spend time with the horse, and the black stallion met him at the gate, a rather unamused expression on his face. No doubt he was expecting food hours ago, the little prick. "Yeah, yeah, I know. I had to deal with a cranky mare and foal," he hummed. He handed the stallion his feed and slipped into the horses back, and startedd chattering away about his day. Mostly about the mare and foal, but a bit about Mari too.

The girl, admittedly, found herself a little captured by the two. The grey mare popped her head out the door out of the blue, and she admittedly got a bit of a fright... she fully expected the horse to try and nip her, but instead, it just nuzzled her and tried to fleece her for some kind of treat. The girl let a slight smile cross her face, but patted the mare's neck before turning off and starting to make her way home. She'd stay home that night then tomorrow she had to make use of the maid's quarters so that she could at very least get sleep in... she worked all week, on the weekends and she was supposed to be working nights... but that just wasn't possible. But if she was staying in the castle, then she'd be there if they needed her... and she wouldn't have to be up so early. Once she was home, she was welcomed by her brothers and her mother, and they took the tray from her hands and started to put them in the dishes. Though, the girl simply just didn't have much more energy to eat. She gave the extra portion to her youngest sibling and just got herself to bed... it was still pretty early in the day, but it meant she'd be a bit... fresher for the next day.

Sage babbled to the stallion for the next few hours about this or that, not really thinking about what he was saying...it was just nice to talk to the horse. "Mari was helpful with the foal. She's nice. Do you think she's nice? I think she's nice. Should I get to know her? Do you think she'll end up dying? Or will she manage to live like Anya and Att? Do you think they're ok? I wonder what they're thinking. Do you wonder what they're thinking where they are? Does Rolo? Hey, who do you think sired that little foal? Was it you? Although it doesn't look much like you. Although it had black markings. It could be you. Is it you? It would be cool if it was you..." The horse kept an ear or two flicked back the entire time he babbled, though once he almost fell asleep and felt himself starting to fall off the horse, he sighed and slid off the stallions back with a yawn. He patted the horses neck gently and murmured a goodnight before going in to check in on the foal. He ended up going into the stall and sitting down, though he ended up falling asleep in the barn. Oops. The mare eventually lay down too, and the foal nestled in between them, it's head resting on Sage's lap. Sage was drawn to the body heat of the mare, so he rested his own head on her flank and curled up around the foal protectively. And the mare curled up around the both of them. The doctor came to look for him after dark, but decided to leave him...they were all asleep and cozy, and the boy wouldn't get cold with two horses there. So he went back to the castle and went to bed himself.

The young girl woke up... well, very late the next day. And the only reason she woke up at all was that her oldest brother, Anthony, pretty much jumped on her. Really, he was only about a year or so older - but he was much, much bigger. He was grinning at her brightly and had a small plate of fruit in his hands for her. "Breakfast," he noted lightly before perching on the side of the bed. The girl groaned and looked around the room before realising it was about ten in the morning. God, had she slept in that long? She'd gone to sleep pretty early... she had. She forced herself to thank the boy, then shooed him off before quickly downing the food and getting changed... she pretty much sprinted out of the house, but not before grabbing the tray she had the previous night. She made it to the castle in a record fifteen minutes, and by then she was huffing. She went to drop the tray off, then went straight towards the doctor's office. She found the man, chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath again. "I'm sorry I... I woke up late and..." she trailed off with a bit of a cough before shaking her head, apology written on her face.

The doctor looked up in surprise when the girl burst through the door. He glanced at the clock in surprise, muttering "you're late?" To himself before blinking and shrugging. "Well, why don't you go check in on Sage for me? Bring him something to eat. He'd been in the barn all night," he hummed. Then he grinned. "If you're lucky, youll catch him still curled up with that foal," he giggled, a teasing light glinting in his eyes. No doubt the girl would enjoy seeing that....he certainly had. Maybe that was the reason he'd left them the way they were. Either way, the boys want breakfast once he woke up. Sage was still asleep as of then, with no idea the doctor was sending the girl over.
