Max watched her, eyes still droopy from sleep as he leaned against the counter.

Kylie shrugged. "I dunno," she sighed.

"We could stay in, have a lazy day and maybe watch some movies and what not." He suggested, grabbing a RedBull from the fridge.

Max glanced over at the calendar, seeing he had a work meeting in 30 minutes. Shit he'd forgotten. His eyes went wide, running over to his room and tossing on a pair or slacks and a dress shirt before coming back out. "I've got a meeting--completely forgot about it, i'll be back in an hour or two. Love you bye!" He said quickly, pecking her lips before heading out the door.

"Oh okay..." she mumbled, very disappointed now. She waited around for him for a long while before she packed up all her things, calling Ali and Jen for a beach day.

Max drove quickly to the office, taking his c8 which he'd recently put a down payment on as he'd been saving up for years. It felt surreal, knowing he'd been addicted to getting one ever since they came out. Anyway. He practically drifted into the parking lot, slamming the door shut (not really slamming) and sprinting in. Max jumped into the elevator, wishing they went any faster as it slowly ascended 20 stories up. The man slipped into the confrence room right as everybody else was going in, faking his confidence and security infront of his coworkers--a gig he'd learned to do the first day he landed the job, mask your exhaustion and make it seem you want to be there. Have a good attitude, the usual. It's what got you raises, so he'd do it. He thought of Kylie as he doodled on a spare slip of paper, really just scratching the pen back and forth over and over. She was what kept him going, since he knew one day they'd have a future together and if he didn't get it together now-- would he ever?

Kylie stopped at her dorm, changed into her yellow polkadot bikini on and met up with Jenna and Ally at the beach. The three of them lay on their stomachs on a beach blanket, tanning for a while, then switched to laying on their backs. After a bit they all went for a swim before lying back down on the blanket. The girls gossiped the entire time, flip-floping between Kylies drama, to Jenna's, then to Allys, then back to Kylies.

The meeting wrapped up and Max went to go and walk out, getting stopped by his boss. "Max, mind talking for a minute?" His heart almost stopped, was he getting fired? -Quit thinking for the worst, Max. Think for the best, as you were always told.- "No, I don't mind." Max responded confidently, grabbing his things and following the man out. "There's this new project we're doing, new police and fire station. We need somebody to make a basic layout, figure out the budget. I was hoping you'd be open to the task?" Max thought for a moment, plastering on a small smile. "Sir I just, I don't know if I have time. I have classes, I just have a lot of things happening right now." He explained, the man nodding, understanding. "You'll get a 8.6% raise to your current paycheck, leading to it to only go up in the future." Max hesitated, thinking for a second. "I'll think about it, I need to get going now."

Kylie remained at the beach with her friends. She doodled in the sand with her finger, thinking of Max. Without thinking twice she pulled out her phone taking a picture of herself in her sunglasses and bikini and sent it to him.
