The girl squinted her eyes at him for a moment before going back to fiddling with her nails, a little unsure of what to say. "Sage, anyone can see that you're not a particularly happy person. Lizzie may be young and innocent, but she's not dim." She murmured before crossing her arms as she tried to stop heself from fidgeting. She would need to get going soon, and she wasn't sure how long it would take to walk back. "You seem like a completely different person with her though. Not so up tight." She shrugged quietly, offering a soft smile.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "Lizzie won't attack me," he laughed. "I know I can trust her. And just having someone I know is safe to be around and will just be nice is definitely helpful." He bit his bottom lip, thinking. "Lizzie knows I'm sad and tired, that's what she hears. Some things I don't tell her because she's still young. You listen to those things though." He blushed slightly and murmured, "it does help to talk about those things. You have helped.". He was suddenly a bit shy, since that was a pretty deep thing to say. He didn't usually connect to people like that, and having someone to spill to had helped considerably. Anya really had helped him more than he could express.

The girl offered him a sheepish smile, nearly rendered wordless yet again. Nearly. "I'm always here to talk. It's not like I have anything better to do." She shrugged quietly as she rubbed the back of her neck. She truely didn't mind. Sage had a lot on his mind... that was clear enough. If telling Anya about it helped him, then she wasn't going stop him. He was one of very few people that had actually opened up to her, and she wasn't trying to scare him off by telling him to can it. She let her smile tug at her lips when she noticed him flush up - though, she couldn't really be sure due to the dirt on his face. The girl took a stepforward so that she wasn't leaning on the tres before meeting his eyes with a teasing glint, "If Lizzie was here, I'd bet she would be the first to bully you about flushing up." She joked before offering him the handle of the dagger he gave her, "Best give you this now." She shrugged.

Sage chuckled at the thought of Lizzie teasing them and took his dagger back. "Yeah, and no doubt she'd be teasing me about my love life too, calling you my girlfriend," he muttered lovingly, a soft smile on his face even though he was blushing harder now that they were close to eachother, and she had pointed out his blush so of course it had to get worse and more noticeable. He did take note that Anya had said she would listen and he scrunched his face up. "I just don't want to freak you out with anything. I mean, the kind of stuff that goes on here is just crazy."

Anya gave a small, slightly crooked smile. "I'm not going to lie Sage, you already have freaked me out just a little." The pursed her lips as she stepped back to the tree. "I didn't expect to be out in the woods with a killer you know." Shs shrugged. She knew that Sage meant her no harm, but the thought was a little unsettling. He said he only did such things in him or them situations...self defence, if you will. She chuckled softly when he spoke of his sister, giving him a slightly bolder smile. She didn't know the girl very well at all, but it was already something she had done. "She seemed pretty convinced I was your girlfriend." Anya laughed, shaking her head again, "I'm afraid you're not my type though." She noted with a teasing pout.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "You have a point," he admitted softly. "It's not really something that you can guess about." Then he gave her a crooked grin. "Besides, it doesn't matter. Even if for some strange reason crazy psycho guys were your type, there's rules against someone like you and someone like me being a couple." He snorted out a laugh and say down before looking up at Anya. "Kind of unspoken rules, anyway."

Anya scoffed and wrinkled her nose. "They're very vocal about such rules. Where I'm from, at least. Word travels fast around the higher ranks," Anya chuckled at the thought, "can you imagine the scandal it would cause?" She asked with a grin. Such a thing would cause issues for her whole family. Even so, she found the thought amusing. She peered down at him for a moment with a slightly raised brow, "I was promised to someone when I was about a year old. It wouldn't just be my family who would suffer from embarrassment." She noted, rolling her eyes.

Sage wrinkled his nose with a slight chuckle. "Yeah, it would definitely cause some major issues," he admitted. "Probably why there's rules about it." Then he shrugged. "We can start walking back while we talk. It'll take a bit to get back to the tavern." He enjoyed his nights out here with Anya, and he was reluctant to end it, but if she got caught it would end permanently, so he figured he could stand to wait a day. Anya nodded, watching him get up before starting to wander down a little path. Her steps were a little rigid, reluctant to carry her back. It meant dawn was on the way, and she would have to spend hours standing around while she got measured up. She took a heavy breath before looking to Sage. "You're back to work then?" She asked in an attempt to make small talk. Her way of avoiding any kind of silence. "I think our guests are going to be arriving sometime tomorrow, maybe the day after. The chances are that their maids and servants will be tagging along too. I'd bet they'll be in the tavern any chance they get." She noted with a light chuckle.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "So I'll probably have a busy day then. Unless they go to the other tavern." He shrugged slightly. "It'll be strange to come back after a day off. Haven't done that in a long time," he muttered. He was glad to have that day off though, to spend some time with Lizzie and catch up on some rest. He was technically still a boy after all, and did need some time to himself to just do what he wanted.
