Sage nodded sympathetically. "His mom was quick to the rescue though. She'll take good care of him." He smiled at Maxine. "And your quick reaction is just confirming the fact that you'll be an amazing mother." He he squeezed her hand gently, glad to be going on a walk that was peaceful and not dangerous. They could have time to themselves now, without constantly worrying about Roxie or the demons that followed her. |

Maxine watched his mother carry him off giving a small pouty lip before she looked at Sage blushing "He was hurt how could I not go to him?" She asked giving a small chuckle as they continued on their walk. When they finally reached the lake she smiled and sat on a bench with him "This place is even better in the evening..." She admitted "The stars on the water... The little lanterns lit up around the lake...? It's stunning..." She admitted happily "Not that it isn't pretty now it's just even better at night..." |

Sage chuckled and kissed her cheek. "We can go a night when we can sleep in the next morning," he promised. He looked around and settled on the bench nact to Maxine and wrapped his arm around her. "But you're right, it is a nice place." |

Max nodded "Sounds perfect to me." She chirped happily relaxing on the bench and looking over the area "I love it." She said happily "Even more now that I get to share it with you." She chirped happily. After a few hours Max decided to take him up to the store to meet her co-workers one going man who was protective of Max as if she were his little sister eyed Sage skeptically "So you're the boyfriend?" He asked "Boyfriend and baby daddy..." His girlfriend corrected "So I'm guessing..." She said Max nodding "Yeah... We were apart because of our families... But he's here now." She assured looking at the young man "Ethan... He's a good man I promise..." Max said gently "I'll be the judge of that... Why don't you and Lucy go look at the nail polishes or something while I have a word with your boyfriend here..." He said "Don't be like that Ethan... I'm not going to leave his side." Max said wrapping her arm firmly around Sage's "Fine..." He said "You were separated because of your families care to explain?" He asked "I love Max like a sister I don't want her or that baby around someone who is going to abandon them without a reason so start talking..." He snapped mildly. |

Sage cocked his head, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Well I suppose I don't have to worry about you being unsafe at work," he muttered to Maxine. He glanced over at the man...Ethan? He scanned him for a moment before speaking again. "My family is...not normal. They didn't like the fact that I was dating Max here so they tried to pull some stunts to get us apart. They started getting dangerous so I told her to hide somewhere while I took care of it." He shrugged. "Took a while to clear everything up, there won't be any more issues." He stared Ethan in the eyes, knowing that he unnerved even the bravest people...he had the look in his eyes that people could tell meant 'im tougher than you. I will protect what's mine, and if you get in the way of it there will be consequences'. |

"I see... If you abandon her again no matter the circumstances I won't let her be alone... She will move after her and I will be responsible for Max and her child." He said giving Sage a harsh glare. "Ethan!" Max cried "Knock it off!" She said stepping between him and Sage "I'm a big girl I can look after myself okay? It's not likely to happen again I took care of my family as well..." She said firmly "So both of you knock it off... Especially you Ethan... You know better then anyone that I can look after myself and a baby myself... Your mom did the same thing and I get that's why you're sensitive but Sage is a good guy... The situation was beyond our control..." Max said. |

Sage raised an eyebrow and his face softened slightly. "If I was going to abandon her I wouldn't have come back," he pointed out. He wasn't necessarily mad at Ethan...he knew the guy didn't know all of what was going on. And the emo pumk look probably didn't help the situation...sage knew that he didn't exactly look like what people would expect a caring father to look like. |

Ethan's face softened a little too but he still looked at Sage like he wasn't happy he was here... "You have a point... I guess..." He muttered reluctantly "Just... Don't let it happen again..." He said heading off to do his work "Don't mind him... He's overly sensitive to this situation." Elizabeth said "My name is Lizzie... It's nice to meet you Sage." She said offering her hand for him to shake. |

Lizzie chuckled "You guys are gonna get along great then..." She said sarcastically with a roll of her eyes giving a chuckle "Well Max is a pleasure to work with and we can't wait to hopefully meet that little bundle of your guys's" she chirped excitedly "I am so excited." Lizzie squeaked. |
