Anya sat down after a while, and watched Att chat away to Sage with a tired smile on her face... it was tired but that little smile was genuine. She knew Att would miss Sage while they were gone... but they would be back. They would, of course see each other again. She let him talk Sages ear off for a little while before shaking her head and standing up and shaking her head. "We're gonna go say our farewells to the doctor then get on our way... with any luck we'll make it there late this evening," she eventually sighed before shaking her head. "Come on, Att," she huffed after a moment or so.

Sage listened for a while before Anya told the boy to get up and go. Att hopped off his lap eagerly, and sage stood up stiffly. "I'll come with," he hummed, and Att grabbed his hand and one of Anyas hands. "Im going back there anyway," he hummed. Once they were gone, he'd probably just stay there....there wasn't much else for him to do. He'd probably spend a lot of time at the barn.

Anya nodded and quietly walked towards the doctors. It seemed so empty... it was so weird. She'd never seen the castle so empty, and it almost made the hairs on her neck stand on end. Still, they made it to the ward in good time. She poked her head into the ward and tried another small smile to the man. "We're off in a minute," she told him lightly before gesturing to the man to Att. "Go say bye," she told hunny gently before resting her head back on the wall, clearly nervous to get going. She just wanted to get to her family, to be able to actually talk to someone. Sage was here, of course, but she couldn't really talk to him like that, now could she? No, she didn't think so.

Sage walked along next to Anya and Att quietly, only really half listening to the boy. He occasionally nodded his head or hummed in agreement with something the boy said, though even the boy quieted down after a bit. The doctor crouched down to give the boy a gentle hug and the patted Anya on the shoulder. "You be good now," he hummed, before turning and sliding back into his office. He never was very good at goodbyes. Sage sighed, watching the man go. "He cares about you, he's just bad at this," he groaned, shaking his head slightly. Then he turned back to Anya and bit his lip slightly. "Good luck," he eventually murmured. He dreaded watching the girl leave...but he didn't really have a choice, did he? No...he didn't think so. He had to stay here. Anya had said to stay home....but he didn't really have one. The woods were as much his home as anything. He was going back to the tavern...but the castle certywasnt home. Home was where he had Anya, and Att, and Luther. Except Luther was gone now, and Anya and Att were leaving. He still had the doctor, so maybe it was a little bit of home since he was there. But...he supposed he'd have to figure it all out. How to function alone again. But was he really ever alone? Even as a young child, he'd had Liz.

Anya kind of went ridged when the doctor went in for a hug. In truth, she just expected a quick goodbye and then to be sent on her way. He'd never been a very affectionate man... and she didn't think she ever had been either, not unless it was Att or Luther - and she had been with Sage for a short while, too. Not that it lasted very long. "I know," she sighed for a moment after Sage's comment, a gentle smile across her face. She then looked to Att and called the child over before picking him up and perching him on her hip. She then cocked her head at Sage when he wished the two of them good luck. She felt her chest twist a little but tried a small chuckle. "You're gonna need more luck than we will. You've got a whole castle to look after now," she teased lightly. She didn't even know if he was going to stay. Maybe the boy wouldn't be there when she got back... but even if that was the case, she was thankful to have seen him again. She then furrowed her brows at the boy again. "We're going to miss you, aren't we Att?" The child just babbled something absentmindedly, but there was a slight nod from him. She then turned to take a step or so away, starting to make her way towards the bit wooden doors before turning back to grab the older boy's hand. "Walk us out?" She asked with a slightly bigger but all the same tired smile.

Sage felt a ghost of a smile flicker across his face at the girl's teasing. At least she was well enough to joke around a bit. That was a good thing. "You come back to find it better than when you left it," he assured the girl. He stood there sort of awkwardly for a moment while the girl turned to leave, then felt a kind of spark in his chest when she took his hand. He nodded, squeezing the girls hand lightly and stepping up to walk beside her. Once they got to the carriage he gave Att a big hug goodbye, then he ran into the carriage to explore, and Sage turned to Anya. He gave the girl a hug too, and whispered "stay safe" in her ear before releasing her a moment later. There was an unspoken 'i can't lose you too' in the air, though he wasn't sure if the girl would pick that up or not. Then he gave her a small smile and one last reassuring squeeze of the hand before he stepped back to let the girl get on the carriage.

Anya chuckled softly when the boy said the castle would be better than when she left... well, that was kind of the point. Builders would be coming to restructure the turrets, as well as a wall to rebuild. When he went in for a hug, she admittedly almost flitched away, but once his arms wrapped around her she relaxed a little more and let her own hands flop gently around his sides for a moment before stepping back. "The same goes for you. No getting hurt," she whispered quietly before sighing quietly and looking back to see a very impatient-looking Att sitting on the edge of the steps to the carriage. She'd forgotten this would be his first trip from home... he was probably pretty excited, despite the unfortunate circumstances. She went to step on the carriage and before they set off, she poked her head out the window and gave him a slight wave before shutting it. The carriage took off with a slight jerk, the larger horse pulling it and setting off at a steady walk before trotting off. They then travelled for a little while, and much to Anya's dismay they didn't quite manage to make it before it got too dark... so they stayed the night camping out before finally reaching the manor at about lunchtime the next day.

Sage nodded in response to Anya, and then waved at the two of them as the carriage rolled off. He stared at the road for a long time, even once the carriage had disappeared. He wasn't sure why, but he suddenly felt very alone and nervous, and he shrunk back inside himself, heart hammering and lodging in his chest. He scrambled back to the doctor's ward, only relaxing slightly when he reached his own little room. He curled up on the bed, staring out the window again. He ended up falling asleep sitting up and leaning against the window sill, and wasn't up again until late the next morning. Once he was up, he just stared out the window again. He might visit the horses later, but he didn't feel up to it right then. His fingers twitched, and he brought his nails to his skin before remembering his promise to Anya and for ing his hand down. He sat there squirming for a moment before reaching for a pencil and piece of paper. Drawing should help. He hoped it would.

Sage hadn't spent much time with the doctor...he was busy, and the maid that was always there talked a bit too much for his liking. He just didn't have the energy to talk very much. Besides, he didn't know her, so he wasn't really up for listening to her babble. He spent most of his time staring out the window, or drawing. He often went down to the barn too ...chaos was, ironically, the only real peace he got sometimes. But as of right then, he had decided to ask the doctor for something to do...he needed to get his hands to do something other than scratch at himself. He'd drawn so much he had blisters on his hands, and they covered the floor, page after page overlapping eachother as they lay there. The doctor allowed him to sit in the corner and wrap up some bandages and organize pills into containers, which the maid usually did, but he figured the boy needed it more than she did. She could always help if she wanted, she just couldn't talk his ears off. Well, the boy would tell her to shut up if she was too loud, he had no doubt about that...he'd been rather irritable since Anya and Att had gone. Not that he blamed the boy.
