chances are its not working because your color code is somehting like: rgba(27, 103, 45)
You dont have the alpha number in there.

coding like making a palette is not something most people can just do at the drop of a hat. Take the time to learn what you're doing. It'll get you further. Speaking from experience. I actually used alot of online resources outside of HEE before I even started.

uhhh it won't let me screenshot it
but on the color picker, where it normally shows the hex code while you pick a color, there's a thingy right below that text box that says HEX and has an up/down arrow on it. click that

remember rgb and rgba are different. One has transparency anf one does not.

oh the color picker on the palette page does that
you can change it by clicking the bar at the bottom of the popup that usually says HEX
