Sage grinned over at the girl and chuckled. "The barn," he chirped. Then he frowned. "They've been locked in there without food or water," he hummed. "The doors been locked, probably since the rebellion." He grinned sheepishly. "I broke through the door, and gave them all water, but Im gonna have to employ you and Att to help with food." He shrugged slightly and sighed. "I cleaned off one horses leg...she had cut it in the pasture somehow, but others might be hurt too."

Anya furrowed her brows slightly when the boy told her about the horses... she thought they'd have someone looking after them, at least for a little while. She thought they'd all just be let go during the rebellion... they normally just make their way home with time. But either way, one person should have been keeping an eye on them. In truth, she'd almost forgotten about them. She'd been so focused on her family and Luther, that she'd forgotten about the horses completely. "We can get them fed," she hummed after a moment as her gaze flickered back to the boy. "Do they look alright though? Other man minor injuries? I don't want Att seeing them if it's going to upset him," she murmured quietly.

Sage chuckled and shook his head, looking over at the boy. A soft smile grew on his face when he noticed the boy interacting with the birds. "No, nothing bad from what I saw. Only some minor scrapes. Some were reluctant to get up... probably hungry, and they've lost weight if they were in the stalls, but they had straw and hay in there they've eaten when they didn't get fed at normal times, so nothing's too bad. The ones in the pastures were thirsty but alright. " He frowned slightly and shrugged. "They should have been cared for...maybe the person in charge of them got killed or hurt?" He wasn't sure, but he did know he needed to help and get them some food. Either way, they were alright now.

Anya shrugged slightly. She didn't have a clue what happened to them... but it didn't matter now. The horses could be taken care of just fine. "Did you see Luther's horse? Whenever he comes back I'm going to beat him for leaving Att," she grumbled in no almost sinister way. She then but the inside of her lip as she thought about her own horse, Rolo... he'd been in the paddocks at the time. Was he still there? Was he okay? A shot of panic ran though her spine and all she could do was go still for a moment before looking back toward Att. "I'm sure we can help," she hummed before looking at the stack of pancakes with a cocked head. "You said you can cook? Well, you're gonna wanna teach me how to do simple things at some point... if not for me then do it for Att," the girl told him with a small laugh.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "His mare seems alright. But skinny, but she's fine. Your boy is fine, too. And I found Chaos. He's in a pasture so he was well fed," he hummed. Then he cocked his head when she mentioned cooking and reached over to pinch a bite off of a pancake and popped it in his mouth. He swallowed and gave Anya an amused look. "Anya, I've literally eaten trash, and that was not very appealing," he cackled. "I don't know how much I can teach," he teased the girl lightly.

The girl wrinkled her nose slightly when the boy popped the bit of food into his mouth, a slightly embarrassed blush covering her face as she tried to stop him and yet failed miserably. It almost felt like something in her stomach dropped and she let out a slight groan and dropped her head down on the table. "That's gonna make you sick," she grumbled with a huff. "It deserves to be trash," she huffed before sitting up and resting her head on her hand. "You cook for the tavern - and I remember Liz saying you were a good cook," she hummed before looking back to Sage with a small smile. "So you can teach me as much as you know! It's gonna be more than what I already know," she chuckled softly before calling Att over. "Wanna go feed some horses?" She asked in a more up beat tone. The boy nodded exitedly in reply to her before crawling up the little table and siting on her lap.

Sage chuckled and shook his head. "It's not that bad," he assured the girl. 'it takes a lot more than a few pancakes to make me sick," he hummed good naturedly. He'd gotten his breath back by then, so when Att came crawling excitedly over he looked over at the boy with a fake serious face on. "Now Att, you've been learning math at school, right? We're gonna put your new skills to use today. We can't feed the horses too much, or they'll get a stomachache. And we don't want to leave them hungry. You up to that," he chirped, knowing the little speech would make the boy more excited and determined to do it all right. "And when we're done, you can ride one," he chirped, sine most of the horses there would be perfectly safe for the boy to ride.

Anya wrinkled her nose at him but shook her head. They were awful, but if he insisted they weren't that bad then she wouldn't argue with him. When he asked Att if he was up to help, the child grinned and nodded excitedly, saying something along the lines of; "I'm going to save the ponies!" And jumped off her lap and started running towards the stables. Anya hummed as she thought about who he could ride... if Rolo was in good shape then he could have a sit on him, but in truth, most of the horses were a little bit green given that they were only ever hurled around and used for travelling. Sage had said Luther's horse was there... if she was fine then Att could maybe have a go on her, too. She wondered what the horse was still doing there... surely he would have taken her with him? It did send slight panic through her, but they needed to deal with one thing at a time, and right now the horses were most important. "Lets go then," she sighed after a moment or so.

Sage chuckled at Atts enthusiasm and scrambled after the boy, leaving Anya behind before realizing they should probably wait and grabbed Atts hand to slow him down. "Wait for Anya. She has skirts and can't run as fast as you crazy child," he chided the younger boy gently, in a rather amused tone. Once Anya had caught up to them, he started walking again, Atts hand still clenched around his own as the boy skipped along beside him. He felt a smile grow on his face...it was nice to have some time like this with the boy. He still felt awful about leaving him here all those years ago, but he was learning to forgive himself a bit for it. The boy quite obviously had....and he was glad he could spend time with the boy. And Anya too, he supposed.

Anya followed as fast as she could behind the two boys... which, to be honest, wasn't very fast. It was definitely nice to see Sage with Att, though... she felt bad for yelling at the boy for leaving them, and she did, so it was definitely nice to see Att with him again, especially after so long. Att would remember him now, though... if anything happened to Sage, then Att would be able to remember him as fondly as he so pleased, rather than just going off her over-exaggerated stories about him. She did want Att to see him in a good light, though... Sage had saved him, and he'd done the same for her so many times.
