Dakota woke the next morning and went to feed Secret. "Hey, girl." She said, pouring the mare's grain and refilling the water bucket. She walked back inside and ignored food, not hungry again for the hundredth time this week. Morning she sent the text before going to do laundry

Nathan Croft - Nate let himself sleep in that morning. The ranch hands knew to feed Jackie on weekends so Nate could sleep in a bit and actually get some rest for once. He woke to the ping of his phone and checked it. He read Dakota's message and groaned, putting his phone back down and smothering his face into his pillow. He was just angry at the world. Nate had truly thought Dakota was different and didn't see him like everyone else saw him, and it hurt to be wrong about that.

Can you tell me what I did wrong? Dakota started the dryer after sending the text and sighing. She walked to the kitchen's bar and sighed again, lonely

Nathan Croft - Nate groaned and checked his phone again. He read the message and then put his phone on silent and put it back on his bedside table, then flopping back onto his pillow.

Dakota saw he read the message and frowned when he didn't respond. She was hoping he just needed time to forgive her

Nathan Croft - The next week passed by very slowly. He left her on read for a couple days before texting her back, but it was just a simple good morning and he was very dry in his texting. They didn't see each other that week or call. Nate was obviously very upset about what had happened.

Nathan Croft - Nate heard the ping from his phone on his bedside table, and he just ignored it. He wasn't in the mood to deal with her right now. He was still angry and frustrated with everything.

Dakota's week went by as though Nate had never talked to her. She had signed up for a rodeo that weekend, and packed up to go the half hour drive to the grounds. She competed and got third in both barrels and poles before packing up and going home. She unloaded her stuff and fed Secret Sunday night before heading to bed
