Sage wrapped his arms around her, burying his nose into her hair. She still smelled good, but he barely even registered it by now.

Celeste gently ran her fingers through his hair. Soon enough her scent would fade and she wouldn't be fertile anymore, no babies. She knew that. There was no guarantee that it was going to be over, and it wasn't fair to her, Sage or the future kids to get pregnant now.

Sage closed his eyes tiredly, just leaning against her with a sigh. "This is my fault," he noted quietly. "They wouldn't be in danger like this if they had a different father." He couldn't help but feel bad about it.

Celeste shook her head. "Sage, honey, if you weren't here, Id still be working for her, none of this would ever happen. Id work myself to death,"

Sage let out a soft breath of air, shaking his head slowly. "But she'd still have liked you. She wouldn't even be upset with you if it weren't for me."

"But I wouldn't be happy," she whispered. "Youre the best thing that has ever happened to me,"

Sage sighed softly, tightening his grip on her. "I know," he whispered. "But....i still feel bad about it."

"I know," she whispered, "But we'll get through this together,"

Sage peered up at her and offered her a small smile. "Well, if we fail at least we'll all die together," he noted

Celeste smiled a bittersweet smile and nodded.
