Sage just nodded meekly when Anya said he could sleep on the bed. He would have asked to make sure she was certain it was alright, but he just didn't have the energy to ask right then. He moved the pillow back to the bed once he was done eating, and while Anya brought the plates back to the kitchen he changed into the warmer clothes, grateful to no longer be constantly freezing. He sighed and yawned when she told him to wash his wrists off, grumbling out a "can't I sleep first". But upon, the girls insistance, he went over to the sink and turned the water on. It hurt like hell, but he got a lot of dirt out of the wound, along with shards of metal that he supposed had come from the chains themselves. He watched the blood mix with the water and swirl down the drain after that, the wounds now raw but definitely cleaner. He'd have to wrap them in something, otherwise he had a feeling he'd be bleeding over everything for a while.

Anya peered over the boy's shoulder for a moment and wrinkled her nose slightly. She looked around a little bit before spotting a small chest in the corner. She wandered over and peered into it, only to find a smaller box inside of it. She pried it open, only to find a couple of folded-up bandaids... they were all new, so she assumed whoever was in the room before they were had simply forgotten them. She then handed Sage the bandaids before grabbing her new clothes, then slipped into the damp old bathroom in the corner of the room to get changed before reappearing only to flop on the bed.

Sage glanced over at Anya when she handed him the bits of fabric, too tired to even ask where she'd found them. It hurt to wrap them tightly around the wounds, but it did feel better once they were on securely. And the bleeding stopped after just a moment too, which was definitely a good thing. He yawned again, walking over to the bed and crawling up on it, flopping down next to Anya. Normally, he would have said something like 'now can I sleep' in a sort of joking fashion, but he was just too tired now, so he pretty much lay down and passed out. He hadn't even crawled under the blankets or anything...and he didn't particularly care, he just wanted to sleep for a while.

Anya watched as the boy flopped down next to her before she shifted to get under the blankets... she was, admittedly, still cold. But it was nice to be in some clean clothes and in a comfortable bed rather than a barn floor. When she thought about it, it'd been at least a week until they'd been in a proper bed... or a proper building, for that matter. Still, the girl closed her eyes and got comfortable, willing herself to get to sleep... she wanted to get going again as soon as they could the next day and get home. She rolled so that she was facing away from Sage again and pretty much buried herself under the blankets. Soon enough, though, the girl managed to get herself into a light sleep.

Sage slept deeply, probably because he could manage to sleep just about anywhere. This bed wasn't as comfortable as the castle beds, of course, but is was much better than the barn floor. So, he slept pretty deeply for a while. He ended up shifting closer to the girl, so their backs were touching firmly enough for her to warm him up a bit. He was still a bit chilly, probably because he hadn't pulled the blankets over him yet. But no matter, he could curl up anyway, and he was asleep so the light shivers going through his body didn't wake him. The movement of moving towards the girl was a subconscious movement...he was cold, so he went to the warmth. Besides, he had to admit that having his back pressed against something solid was a bit calming. He felt a bit...safer. more secure.

Anya gave a soft groan when she felt Sage shift... her sleep was light enough that the movement had woken her up. She kind of glared at him for waking her up, before realising he was just sleep. He'd done that before... years ago, he always seemed to go towards the heat. She'd always thought it was sweet, and the slight touch against something from was admittedly a comfort. Either way, the girl sat up and pulled a slightly thinner blanket from the bottom of the bed and wrapped Sage up in it. She'd have put the bigger one on, but the boy had fallen asleep on top of it, and she wasn't trying to wake him up at all. Once she'd done that she pretty much settled down again, only she'd given up moving so had a hand resting lightly on his shoulder, while her forehead was pretty much against the back of his neck before she managed to get herself back to sleep.

Sage didn't move when the girl put the blanket over him, though the shivering did decrease quite a bit. He woke up around dawn, pleasantly surprised to find that Anya had wrapped the blanket around him and was now cuddled up. He reached down to slide under the rest of the covers, but went slowly so as not to wake the girl. He let out a delighted gasp when he realized how warm and cozy it was under there, and cuddled into Anya even more, closing his eyes and slipping into a much comfortable sleep once again.

The girl felt his slight shift, but got comfortable again and let herself fall back to sleep, only a little deeper this time. She was grateful for the rest... it felt like ages since she'd actually gotten any solid sleep, and she supposed it had been a while. Soon enough the morning came around, sending bright yellow light shining through the gaps in the old curtains. Anya just hid behind Sage's shoulder, reluctant to get up at all... they'd have to keep on moving once they were up. She wondered if they were anywhere near the castle... or if they were even going in the right direction. But she did know that the longer they stayed there, the longer she was away from her home... and her family, if they were even still alive.

Sage was still asleep when Anya woke up, though somewhere deep in his brain he did notice her press her face into his back. He figured she'd woken up, though neither of them seemed ready to get up and move quite yet. Well, that was alright. They could sleep in, get some food, maybe pack some more things, and then move on. It would be smart to get some water bottles and snacks anyway ....they didn't know how far away they were from the castle. Well, their castle. They could be in a whole other kingdom right then. He wouldn't be surprised if they were, anyway.

Anya lay still for a little while, in a state of half awake and half asleep... she could recognise everything that was going on around her but she was still at rest. After about ten minutes, the girl shifted ever so slightly and forced her eyes open before giving a tiny stretch, then settled back down again, her head still against his back as she hid from the sun. "You awake?" The girl whispered quietly. She didn't expect much of a reply, so kind of curled up into his back, pulling the blankets up even more.
