"I can't move from here with you like this..."
| |

"I'm fine, now go." He said softly, reaching out for her but his arm shaking too bad for him to.
| |

She kissed his forehead. "I promiseI'll be right back. I love you." She said, walking to get herself a little help

He nodded, finally letting his cover slip.

An hour or so later, Kayla walked back over to Gale, cleaned up and taken care of as much as she could be. She kissed his cheek, sitting beside his head protectively and watching the healers closely

Gale was up, still laying yet awake.
| |

"Does it hurt any less?" She asked quietly, eyes on the one healer that was checking Gale's bandages
| |

Kayla just nodded, exhausted but refusing to fall asleep with Gale so vulnerable. Her eyes drooped a few times, threatening sleep, but she fought against it. One healer looked her way, confused. Kayla just glared as best she could in her half-lidded state

"Sleep, Kay. I know you're tired," Gale murmured, that same crooked grin coming onto his face.
