Ben stayed like that for a moment before going and putting the mop away. He came back to Emma and said, "I need to make sure all the horses have hay. Are you alright if I go?"

Ben hurried to finish the chores in the barn so he could go back to Emma as soon as possible. He wanted her to be alone for the shortest time possible.

Ben made it back inside just as a light rain began to fall. He shut and latched the door behind him, then went in search of Emma. He peeked into her room and saw her sitting on the bed. He knocked on the door frame.

"Come in"she said with a small smile

He smiles and pushes the door open, then shuts it behind him quietly. Ben sat down next to Emma, looking around the room. He'd never been in there before. It was cozy, warm, and friendly.

She set down her phone and cuddled up, her hand on his chest and her head on his shoulder

Ben leaned in, one arm around her waist and the other over her shoulders. He tried to act normal, but he was really worried about her. She was so anxious and scared... He sighed, trying to push past those thoughts and just be there.
