"Yeah, sorry." He said, shaking his head slightly and sitting down with his head in his hands. "Holy shit...that was horrible..." He muttered, running his hand along one of the scars on his good arm. "It was like it was happening all over again...but you were there too...and I couldn't protect you..." He said, hugging her tight.

Kai heard his phone buzz, scared to see who it was. He broke away reluctantly from Lorelei, glancing at the screen as his blood ran cold. The phone very brightly said: Father and he couldn't have been more terrified. He stood up quickly, snatching his phone and walking to the other room. "Hello?" He muttered, voice barely masking his fear. "Ah, the dissappointment. I hope you enjoyed my little visit, and you can count on another soon." His father drawled, chuckling darkly. "Yes, sir."" Kai gulped, his anger boiling now. "Good. And I think you understand what will happen the next time I see that pretty little thing of yours?" "Yes, sir." "Good." As the phone went dead, Kai sank to his knees in defeat. He cried silently, barely around the corner away from Lorelei's view of him. After a few moments, he stood and walked to her with red, puffy eyes. "We need to go. Now." He said softly, obvious fear in his voice and expression as he spoke then grabbed her bag. He grabbed some of her clothes along with a couple of her books, gently placing them in the bag. "Are you alright with coming to my house?" He asked, remebering she didn't like to be treated as an object and that she cared whether or not she was asked first

Lorelei watched him go, waiting anxiously. When he came back she was confused. She stepped in front of him, between him and the bag to stop him from packing. She'd like to pack her own things and she was worried. "Why are we going? Whata happening?" She asked.

"My father. He's what's wrong. You'll be safe at my house, please, baby." He said softly, taking her hand. "I have the security and weapons to protect you better there and he knows where you live now. You're not safe here. Please, sweetheart, can yu come to my place?"

Lorelei hesitated. This was her home. "Can we take my books?" She squeaked. She wouldn't be surprised if he said no, there was a lot of them, but they were her pride and joy. Really, the only things other than Kai that made her happy.
