"Well, yeah, but that doesn't prove anything..." Mercy countered, biting her lip and watching Luke with his apprentice. "I mean, he was just interested that we came back. I would do the same thing. I think. Agh, you're confusing me." She shook her head, laughing slightly. "I never thought I would have a talk about boy drama after the Mist. Let's go say hi." She finished quietly, walking over to his table and standing beside him, looking signifigantly happier than she had this morning. "Hi Luke. Who's this?" She asked in interest, tilting her head at him and waving to his trainee. Edited at June 29, 2023 04:05 PM by Widow Valley Farms

She grinned teasingly and watched over with Mercy, waving at Luke. "Howdy. This is Adam, heee is quite the learner. Our neck of the woods wasn't all that giving today." He smiled softly. Adam waved. He was in his late twenties- early thirties- and had a clean shaven face, brown hair and blue eyes. He looked kind and docile. "How was your hunt? I saw you got a deer?" he asked Mercy mostly, Laura let Mercy do the talking.

"Nice to meet you, Adam." Mercy held her hand out for a handshake. "More successful than yours, I guess. We did. Well, Laura did. She's taking to it like a moth to a flame." She grinned proudly at the girl, yawning. Her head was hurting less now, but the bright lights were not helping whatsoever, she sighed and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to get it to go down. It did not. She opened her eyes again and gave Luke a small, tired smile.

Adam leaned forward and shook her hand, sitting back again. Luke nodded with a slight smile, then he burst out when she finished. "AHA! I knew it." He grinned teasingly at Laura, pointing at her accusingly. L "Hey, I'm not going back on a freaking dare." She rolled her eyes and scoffed. He cleared his throat when he looked at Mercy. He pulled out a chair from behind him and set it beside him for Mercy.

"Ah, so it was a dare? I shouldve known." Mercy chuckled. "Thanks." She said, sitting down in the chair and grabbing his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze before letting it go. She didn't know quite what possessed her to do it, but she didn't regret it. She looked over at Laura and Adam. "So; did you two enjoy your first hunting lessons?"

L "Yes, he dared me to shoot more than you." She grinned. Luke rolled his eyes and looked off, then at his hand in mild surprise. He was about to ask something along similar lines but he choked up as she squeezed it, feeling his face get a little red. He hid it under his right hand, which he was leaning his elbow on the table. Adam nodded. A "It takes patience but lord knows we have time." Laura nodded. L "She teaches well, I don't like the shooting part but it was fun," He slid her eyes to Mercy for a moment with a malicious smile, then back to her fake looking real smile. It looked fake because she looked like she was done with life despite being content.

"Somehow, that seems very true to character." She huffed. "The only reason she shot more than me is because I was teaching her." She glanced at him moodily. "It was fun because I was there, and I make everything better. Poor Adam had to last all day with Luke." She said, teasingly. She rolled her eyes at Laura, a smile crossing her face in spite of herself.

Laura giggled at the teasing. "I'm amazing, I had to last 2 MONTHS alone with you." He scoffed, Adam was grinning. L "I still woooon." He rolled his eyes. "Why don't you two go and tell someone about the catches?" He suggested kinda. Adam nodded and stood up, waving as he walked off. Laura gave a half-assed two-finger wave as she turned heel and walked off. He waited till they were gone to speak. "How's that headache?"

She huffed at him, watching the two walk away. "Honestly? My head feels like its about to implode, just like that fucking shack." She flopped forward onto the table, turning her head to look at him pathetically. "Remind me to never drink alcohol again."

He grinned slightly. "Don't talk about my shack like thaaaaat." He teased. "I'll be sure to do that. By the way the pain meds are helping, I'm ..calmer than usual but it does hurt less." He held his hand infront of him and pulled his fingers in slightly, when it hurts less he could touch his palm and press a little bit.
