Iris smiled back, fidgeting a little. She wasn't used to all this hand-holding stuff, but she did like it. It was just hard to get used to. The only physical touch she was accustomed with was her teachers patting her arm as they walked past, or the very occasional hug from a friend. Not like she had very hug-gy friends. Not like she had friends at all, actually. Other than her math club teammates and now Kinley, she didn't really have any friends. Iris told herself to focus and got out of the car, making sure not to forget her purse.

Caden walked up beside her, locking the car. "See you tommorow?" He asked, about to part ways.

Iris smiled and nodded. "Definitely. Good night!" She waved, then walked off towards her dorm. . (brain died--)

Caden stayed for a moment, leaned up on the hood of the car before eventually departing to his dorm. He walked in, all of his roomates out partying. The man walked into his room before grabbing his things and heading to go shower. After a long, hot shower which was mostly spent staring at the wall and wondering if he was actually in reality or not. He eventually got out, toweling off before dressing in a white tank and a pair of sweatpants. Caden went and flopped down on his bed, slipping under the covers before drifting off.

Iris made her way back to her dorm, the walk feeling shorter than usual. Her mind ticked, wondering what had changed that day. They had chatted and been getting along pretty well, but then Caden had read that book and kind of freaked out. Then she had to apologize, and he forgave her. Then... Well, that was when she wanted to kiss him. But then he'd freaked out and she chickened out and then he came over and apologized to her, and then they went out to dinner and had that perfect night... What had changed? She supposed she'd just gotten more comfortable with him and so had he... She made it back to her dorm in what felt like seconds and fell right into bed after changing. She fell asleep quickly.

His alarm came quicker than he wished. He awoke to a blaring noise, the man reckognizing it as the alarm for 7:20 am. Caden stood, running a hand through his hair before heading to get dressed. He grabbed a pair of dark stained baggy jeans, slipping them on before pulling on a hoodie and layering a Carhartt on top. The man went and tugged on some old Nike Dunks, combing out his hair with his fingers before checking to make sure he looked presentable. He'd shaved the morning before, just brushed his teeth, hair looked per usual, should be fine just in case he bumped into Iris. Caden slung his bag on before walking out to his first class of the day.

Iris's vibrating alarm woke her at 6:50 am and she rolled over to turn it off. She noticed Kinley still sleeping so made sure to be extra quiet getting ready. She took a quick, hot shower and brushed her teeth, then put on her standard outfit: jeans and a T-shirt. These jeans were flared and had cute flower designs on them. They were her favorite pair. Iris tied her sneakers and grabbed a piece of cold pizza from the fridge, left over from a few nights ago. She headed off to her first class.

Caden opened the door to Chaplin Hall, the place which held his first class of the day ; Organic Chemistry. It was one of the only topics he'd clicked in quickly, having a steady A in the class all semester.

Iris made it through the day well enough. She found herself distracted about Caden only twice, and discovered that tomorrow and next week were going to have easy homework, therefore giving her more free time. She ate lunch at a cafe down the street and said hi to Caden and Kinley a few times in the halls. Now it was 6:55, and her last class was finising up. The teacher was reading off homework assignments and handing out graded tests. Iris was pleased to see she'd gotten an A. The teacher dismissed the class and Iris headed for the door. Before she could leave, she heard someone call her name. "Oh, Iris, come back for a moment." She turned and walked up to the teacher's desk. "Yes, ma'am?" She asked, curious why she was being held back after class.

Caden walked out of class, seeing a familiar shade of red hair which brought back too many memories. Yelling matches, throwing things across the room, crawling back to eachother after a few days of dead silence, unknowing if the door would open to her face again. Carmen glanced over at him, smiling slightly before waving at him. "Caden!" She called, starting to walk over to him. His face went pale, heart hammering under his ribs as he tugged his hood over his face and blended back into the crowd of people. He weaved in and out, bumping into many people and realizing one of them was Iris. Carmen followed on his tail, calling out for him numerous times. The man just walked quicker, desperate to get away from his living nightmare.
