Gale's face turned cold, eyes a look that could melt metal. "And why should I explain to you?" He asks, hand about to reach for his pocket.Gale chuckled at her threat, not scaring him a inch. "Trust me,I don't go alone when told i'll be killed.Just think,1 versus what?60 ish people who all have lifetime experiences of feeling absoulutely no sympathy over anything and all can kill within two stabs?Yeah, good luck." He snapped back, voice frosted with hatred.

Kayla glared at him before turning and running into the forest. His sister was right. A liar. She thought, sprinting away

"And that,Sage,is how you piss somebody off." He says, smiling as he watched her run off. "Gale, explain, please." Sage begged,Gale looking at him before sighing. "Fine, come along though.Don't want others hearing." He responds,Sage following as the two headed farther from anybody living at the camp. "The reason I was gone was I was promised loads of money, aslong as I brought her back. She's the princess of,I don't know where. But yeah, got caught, got tortured, for months, and then when I escaped I abducted her and ran off, almost got caught two more times before finally arriving here." Gale explains, sitting on a stump.Sage stood, flabbergasted but with a twinge of happiness. "I don't know how you did it,but, just that? For that much money?Heck,I'd be down to do it any day." Sage bragged,Gale chuckling as he stood, turning to walk off.He stopped, turning his head and glaring at Sage, gaze cold as ice. "If any of this slips out,i'll make sure you die the most gruesome death." An with that,Gale slipped into the woods, eventually making his way to the group around the fire.

Kayla kept running as fast as she could, hoping Gale would never come near her again. She couldn't believe she had been so naive. She was nice to him, even spoke to him and didn't turn him in when he was weak and easily able to do so. He had been left at her mercy before, and she had helped him rather than harming him. She had looked out for him as he was unconcious. She could have left him, killed him even, but instead she had helped a criminal. She should've known better. She felt a tear roll down her cheek as she slowed, her legs aching. She had actually cared about him, for him, and she knew now she had just been stupid

Gale sat, waiting until he was excluded from the conversation. He quietly slipped away, back to his tent where he pulled on his cloak and slung his bow over his back, taking only one arrow with a target in mind.Gale took off walking, the others at the fire, includnig Sage, all getting drunk as he took off.He started running, not knowing why but running. His chest was already slick with blood and sweat, but he ran, legs pounding faster with no intention.Gale eventually broke out into the field, skidding at the edge as he stopped, rocks tumbling over the edge as he sat, fiddling the arrow in his hand. Gale loaded the bow, remembering who the taget was, himself.

Kayla ran as her legs ached. She was scared, but powered by anger at his betrayal. She had truly trusted him, but now he had ripped that trust away. She slowed to a silent walk, thinking about how she had honestly cared for him. She felt another tear roll down her cheek, but she knew he didn't deserve her emotions

The field wavered around him, guilt spreading like a wildfire. He sat and stared,a glare like a flare. A wilted rose lie dead next to him,a heart broken,a chance taken. Chances have been made, glass has been shattered. Oh how some do hate, for hearts to shatter. His was gone, having shattered years ago.A single threat lingering around him. One threat could kill him, however one thousand could simply warn him. A choice to make, continue or end it all,the darkness of the mind, the crushing of the soul, the silence of the will. Those are the thoughts that rushed through his head, right as he sat on the hill.

Kayla kept walking, more tears bluring her vision. She sat in a dark spot against a tree and away from everything that made her upset

Gale sat on the cliff, three options. 1.) Jump 2.) Shoot himself with the arrow 3.) Go back He chose none, still sitting in silence, only left to his own thoughts. The field wavered around him,the wind whispering through the trees. It looked like a painting, honestly. Gale on the cliff, cloak wrapped tightly around him. The field, some dead, some alive. The cliffs infront of him. The night sky, stars twinkling like diamonds. And the guilt, the way it wavered throughout this moment, nothing else but it.

Kayla got up and wandered for a while, no destination in her mind. She just needed to move and get away. She slowly and silently walked mindlessly in a random direction, hoping to stay away from Gale
