He shifted slightly in his sleep and few few moments later opened his eyes since he was used to only sleeping for short periods of time. "You can sleep too," he muttered. "We were just attacked. There's no one else here." He closed his eyes again and drifted back off. Edited at April 5, 2022 05:59 PM by NightClan

He slept for a while before he started dreaming. And by dreaming, he meant nightmares. I hope up with a start, and took a deep breath before sliding away from Ellie and sitting up. The cave suddenly felt too small, like the closet he used to get locked in as a punishment, and he panicked. He ran outside, ignoring the pain from his wounds and leaned against a tree. His legs were trembling and gave out, and he slid down, his back scraping against a tree trunk. He put his head in his hands, trying to calm down, but the flashbacks hurt worse than he normally let on.

He pressed his back against the tree and pressed his palms into his eyes, trying to calm down. He was fighting a loosing battle though, and the flashbacks kept pounding into his head. He groaned slightly through clenched teeth and pressed harder against the tree, trying to ground himself to something, anything, in the real world.

He flinched away wildly at first, the flashbacks causing him to think she was someone else. After a moment, he calmed down a bit and blinked a few times before glancing back at Ellie. "I'm alright....it's just sometimes certain memories screw with my brain," he muttered horsely. He stared at the ground while he talked, knowing it wasn't really ok, but he was supposed to be the strong one - he didn't know anything else.

"It's going to be ok," She pulls him close hugging him tightly "I'm here for you.." She spoke softly. "I... I love you Sage, and I'm doing my best to make sure your ok.. because you deserve to be loved."

He gave a shaky laugh and shook his head slightly. "I'll manage. I've been doing it for years." He bit his lip and hugged her back, leaning into her, still trembling slightly. "But thank you...you're the only one who's ever said anything like that to me. Usually it's the opposite, actually."
