Kayla sighed once more and stood. "We can't stay here for very long...No doubt the guards are hot on our trail...." She mused, no emotion in her voice but her mind was screaming in fear. What if they find me? Will they kill me? No, too merciful...they'd torture me and Gale in front of each other even though we both have nothing to hide... |

"They're not." He reassured, leaning back against a large stone casually. "Unless they have hounds, but i've heard nothing so......" He shrugged. "we should be fine." But Gale knew, and he would never forget what they had done to him. His back had been made a canvas and the whip the paintbrush, his blood and split flesh the paint. He'd blacked out then, before being dragged back to the prison to be starved and deprived of water. All while the cherry on top was the torture that rat of a king King Varys had also applied. Gale shuddered, his gaze sudddenly filling with fear as memories flushed through. He stood abrubtly, hurridely gathering his few items he dragged along with him. "C'mon," He barked, more snappy then he had been in a while. Still with that wide look of fear and worry. "we're leaving. Now hurry up." Gale ordered, already trudging his way out of the wood and onto a faintly ridden dirt road. He looked both ways, then crept his way out. If I get caught, he pondered. I've doomed not only myself but half the nation. |

Kayla followed for a few steps before gasping and collapsing to the ground, a knife blade stuck in her side as she gasped for air that refused to come. A woman stood behind her, smirking. "This bitch is coming with us. Thanks, amte" She said, heavy accent lingering as a man reached for Kayla's now bloody and slipping away body. "No!" Gale snapped, running after the group ; wanting only her. He ran for what felt like hours, having lost feeling in his legs as his heart ached at the sight of his lover tasting death. A arrow landed in his shoulder, knocking him to the ground. The group continued on, Gale left injured--imagining the worst. He stood, the guards having found him. The man came out with his gaze down, letting them shackle him with no resistance. He didn't fight when they whipped him in the square, when they interigated him, left him in the stocks, threatened to end him. Gale never did, at all. His spark was gone, Kayla was gone. He had no clue where they went, all because of a stupid injury. All he had left of her was the wanted poster he'd had her sign all those years ago when he took her. Gale folded it back up, shoving it in his pocket as another whipping came. The first lash landed, his body jerked against the ropes. The second came-a quiet groan. The third, a agonizing sound that made people stop in their tracks. In total there were 40 lashes. He passed out at around 30. A A guard came, cutting the ropes and chuckling as he collapsed. A voice echoed his name, causing him to stir. "...Rose..?" He whispered, the woman sprinting towards him. "Gale, Gale, Gale." She murmured, taking his bloodied face in her hands. "It'll get better, I promise....I promise.." The guards dragged him away, Gale getting dragged back under. |

Kayla was unconcious for hours until he woke up in a prison cell. Her eyes flitted open, wishing death would take away her pain. She remembered Gale's face as she was taken and whimpered slightly at the pain and fear in his face. She heard yells and orders being barked but not before she felt the sharp pain of a boot-kick to the face. "What do you know about your little...friend? Have you helped him with crimes, murdered royals, killed innocents?" The guard snapped, kicking her ribs with a sharp crack sounding around the small, cement room. She stayed silent, enduring further kicks and hits until she was bruised head to toe |

Gale awoke back in his cell, the pain radiating from his back causing hot white flashes in his vision. He groaned, arm trembling as he grabbed the bucket of water he was given before dumping it on his back. The pain surged, causing him to gasp from it until it settled, relief flooding in as he lay there. |

He was trembling, breath ragged and heavy as he dragged himself slowly to the corner, finally coming to some sort of peace. That peace was interrupted. Two men came in and grabbed Gale by the arms, yanking him up. "Please...not again I just want to find her...please.." He begged, something he never did. Gale came back hours later, getting tossed back in his cell and not moving, not wanting to attempt to as he quietly sobbed into his arm. |
