Anya nodded softly to the boy, trying a small smile. She didn't expect him to trust her completely... but she just wanted to make sure he knew there were people there for him. It didn't have to be her, it could be the doctor or Luther, but he didn't need to keep it all bottled up. He was out of his father's grasp for the time being... and she hoped that brought him some peace of mind. After a moment or so she ran her hand through his hair in a playful manner before giving him another small smile. "Alright, then," she hummed with a bit of a nod. "It's getting late. Is there anything you need or are you all good?" The girl glanced at the clock... it was well near half ten, by now. "And don't ask for a goodnight kiss because you're not getting one," she added with a small chuckle. Edited at January 5, 2023 01:05 PM by Belle

Sage shook his head when she asked her question after a moment if silent thinking. "I'll be fine," he hummed, nodding along with his words. He chuckled at Anyas joke, and grinned over at the girl. "I can just tell Luther to get one for me," he giggled in a sort of teasing response, nudging the girl playfully. Then he nodded his head towards the door, sobering up a bit. "Go on, get some rest. You haven't been sleeping well and it shows," he told the girl. "I'll be fine."

Anya scoffed slightly at his retort before shaking her head. "He'd be lucky too," the girl chuckled before patting his shoulder and giving him another smile. She raised a brow when he said she hadn't been sleeping well... it was true enough, though. "What are you saying? That I'm not looking as vibrant and life-like as always?" The girl asked quietly before wrinkling her nose a little in a slightly teasing way. He was right... they only had a day before their visitors arrived, and she didn't want to seem all grey and weary. "Later, Sage," She hummed with a slightly brighter smile before turning off with a smile and a bit of a wave.

Sage chuckled and rolled his eyes at Anyas remark before nudging the girl in the direction of the door. "You look like I just sucker punched you in the gut, that's what I'm saying," he snorted in a rather amused tone. "Go sleep," he chuckled, waving happily at the girl in response to her own tiny wave. He flopped backwards onto the bed once she'd left and let out a heavy breath. He was tired again, now...and while he wasn't planning on being out and about while the other kingdom was here, he supposed he should be ready for if they did need his help, just in case. He could ask Anya about seeing if his old suit might still work for if he had to be out and about while they were there...or if he could wander around in servants garb. Either way, he didn't mind ...he just wasn't going to obey this other kingdom if they decided to order him around too much.

Anya wandered off to her room with a small smile on her face, the kind that you didn't even realise was there. She was glad that she'd at least spoken to Sage... she wouldn't fix him, and she didn't want to, mainly because he just didn't need fixing... but she could maybe help him out a little bit when he needed it. She quickly got herself into bed, getting comfortable once Luther had flopped an arm around her and forcing herself to get to sleep... it was late, and she was tired, but she also had a hell of a lot to do tomorrow... well, not as much as she had in the last day or two, but it was still a lot. Whatever... a good night's rest should make her feel that bit better about everything.

Sage lay around for a bit, just watching the shadows on the ceiling change as the clouds passed the moon by, covering up the light and then not covering it up, and back again. Over and over and over. Really, he should be sleeping...and he was tired, really tired, but something was keeping him up, and he just didn't know what. He'd told Anya to go get sleep, and here he was staying up all night. He rolled over to look out the window with a weary sigh, closing his eyes and trying to sleep but eventually opening them again when that didn't work. He decided to just draw the moon, since it would at least pass the time, and he ended up finishing two different drawings, and was part way through his third one before he finally passed out paper and clipboard over his face and pen in hand.

Anya woke up a little late the next day... well, Luther was still in the room, just getting ready... it looked like he'd brought her a tray of breakfast, along with a hot tea, which was really quite lovely. "What's this?" she asked the boy wearily as she forced herself to sit up. He almost looked a little surprised that she was awake, but gave her a grin as he buttoned his shirt up. "You've been working hard," the boy observed with a bit of a chuckle before wandering over to her. "So I made you this," he gestured to the tray with a slight hum. The girl raised a brow at the boy before cocking her head. "You made it? Must be awful then," the girl teased lightly, though she did have a weary smile on her face. Luther hummed before giving her a bit of a pout, "You're probably right. But you're gonna eat it because I'm being nice!" The boy picked up the tray and placed it on her lap with a grin. "I've got to go and sort these guards of yours out. Later princess," the boy cooed before placing a light peck on her forehead and dashing out of the room. Well... Anya supposed she could try and enjoy this... how often was it that she got to sleep in and get breakfast in bed? Not often, was the answer. Whatever she had to do could wait until later.

Sage slept in for quite a while, and when he woke up someone had taken the clipboard and pen out of his hand and set it on the side table. They'd also put the covers over him, too...no doubt this mystery person was the doctor, up early for morning rounds. The question was settled when he noticed the tray on his headboard, full of the foods he was most likely to eat. It had definitely been the doctor. He wasn't quite sure why the man liked him so much, but he liked the old man, too, so really he wasn't complaining at all. Besides, having breakfast in bed rather than having to go hunt for trash in hopes of not starving was pretty nice, he could admit that. He was healing up nicely, so maybe the doctor would start letting him help some more. Really, he'd already learned so much, just from watching and listening to the doctor.

It was safe to say Anya took her time while she ate... really just enjoying the quiet and peace. They'd have a very... chaotic couple of days ahead of them, so she wasn't too keen to get out of bed... still, she had to. Once she'd finished up, she made herself get out of bed and sluggishly got herself ready before wandering out into the halls. To her surprise, everyone was busy running around and trying to get things done... her mother had to have made an appearance. That was fine... it meant she didn't have to do so much. That was good. She still went to find her mother, and had a quick chat about everything before setting off to get things sorted. She worked until about lunch, and by then everything was done... now she could relax for a little while.

Sage admittedly, slept for quite some time, and only woke up around noon. Well, at least it was about noon based off of where the sun was at, but once he squinted open his eyes and saw the sun, he huffed out a breath and his under the covers, not really wanting to get up. He could hear the hustle and bustle outside the office already, and he had no desire to get out of bed whatsoever. Oh well, he supposed he could stay in bed for a while today...he'd done what he needed to, and really he'd been running himself dry the past few days. He'd enjoyed it, and he'd had fun, but he was still exhausted.
