Anya wrinkled her nose slightly at the boy teasing before rolling her eyes, "You lost that privilege," she told him, though her voice was spilling with amusement before flicking his ear. "Go to sleep," she told him with a small chuckle before shaking her head. After a moment or so, the girl turned off and out of his little room, a small smile on her face... well, she'd just talk to him about his little drawings later on... or she'd have the doctor do it. In truth, she was a little nervous to do anything about it... but she also didn't want to leave it and let it get worse. Whatever. She had things to do... she could talk to him once she'd gotten everything she needed to do done.

Sage chuckled slightly and grinned up at the girl. "I don't think you need to tell me that," he giggled. Really, the little flick the girl gave him only made his half asleep grin grow wider, and he ducked under the covers for a moment playfully. He fell asleep pretty quickly ..really as soon as he closed his eyes he was out. He knew the girl was busy, so she'd leave when she felt like it. And it might seem odd, but if she did decide to stay, he really wouldn't care. She'd seen him in worse situations than sleeping in the doctors office.

Anya had a fair bit to do before she could relax again. She still had a couple of rooms to sort out, and she needed to get people all in order. She wanted her mother to look around... and she'd sent for her, but the woman still hadn't made an appearance. Well, she wasn't going to beg. Luther had a look around and said it was all good... and she trusted his word. She hadn't seen her father around either, so she doubted he'd been in any of the main corridors. Before she knew it, the girl had exhausted herself and found herself flat out on one of the couches in the lounge. She was just so... worn out. When she woke up again, she looked over at the clock in the corner, which told her it was about eight in the evening. She groaned and rubbed her eyes before forcing herself up and making her way back to the ward... she wanted to talk to Sage. If he was asleep, then she could just leave the drawings with the doctor and have him talk to the boy. She poked her head through the curtain with a quiet, "hey," to the boy... if he didn't reply then she'd just leave him be.

Sage slept for a while, and pretty deeply too. He woke up around dinner time, maybe five thirty ish based off of the sun's location. He stretched but didn't really want to get up out from the blankets, so he sort of just curled up and made a sort of nest in the bed. He really was just content to lay there, in the peacefulness of the setting sun streaming in and warming up the room. He glanced up when he heard Anyas voice and grinned over at the girl. "Did you decided you wanted to give that goodnight kiss," he teased the girl, moving over and sitting up before patting the bed next to him so she could sit down if she wanted to. He didn't really know what she wanted, but he didn't mind talking to the girl. "You get done what you needed to do," he hummed.

Anya winced slightly when the boy replied to her... of course, she didn't mind, but she really wasn't looking forwards to going over this with him. "I got pretty much everything else done, yeah," she told him with a small smile. "But... no, I can get my goodnight kisses off Luther, thank you very much," she told him with a bit of a chuckle. She sobered up a little after a moment before grabbing the drawings on the side table and perching on the side of the bed. "I did come to talk to you about these, though," she almost whispered as she looked down at the sheets. "Sage... are you okay? Not just physically... but has any of what you've been feeling gotten worse?" she asked quietly, almost as though she was scared to ask.

Sage chuckled at the girl's response and grunted when she'd said she'd gotten everything done. He cocked his head when she grabbed the stack of drawings, and looked at the girl curiosly. He pursed his lips slightly when she asked her question and shrugged. "The nightmares have gotten worse the past year or so," he admitted. "But drawing keeps it out if my head so much, so it helps." He shrugged slightly and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I dunno what's gotten worse ...it kind of comes in waves," he sighed.

Anya looked at the boy for a momen or so before giving a quiet type of nod. "As long as it helps," she murmured quietly before giving him a quiet nod. "But do you not want to talk about anyone of it? It doesn't have to be me... the doctor is always around," she asked quietly. Really, she didn't mind if he talked to anyone or no... but just because she didn't love him didn't mean she couldn't care about him. He was still Sage. "What are your nightmares about? Your dad?" As she talked, the girl almost found it difficult to look at him. It wasn't because he'd done something wrong... of course he hadn't, but the things that he had seen... and the things that he'd done, they weren't likely to be good things, and that was... scary, to say the least.

Sage cocked his head slightly and then shrugged. "There's not much to talk about," he eventually hummed, not really knowing what to say. Then he sighed and nodded. "A lot of them are dad....but a lot of them are confusing, and I don't really know what they're saying," he groaned. He sort of just stared at his hands in his lap, fiddling with his fingernails as they spoke. He had to admit, it was kind of nice to talk about it, if it meant he'd understand them, but Anya seemed to just want to help him in a different way. She wanted to fix him...and that was really never going to happen. The real way to help would be to just...help him along. Give him a shoulder to lean in when he needed it. He was glad she was asking her questions though, rather than just ignoring it.

Anya gave a small kind of half nod to the boy. She did get it... well, that was just a lie. She'd never know what this felt like for him, and in truth she never wanted to feel the way he did, but she could guess to some extent. He was telling her everything she needed to know... or what he was willing to tell her. "I just wanted to make sure you're like... okay," she told him with a quiet nod before turning one of the slightly... scarier drawings around to him. "Because these are scary. And if this is what's going on in your head, you shouldn't have to go through that alone," she told him before placing the drawing back down on the side.

Sage looked over at Anya gratefully and shrugged. "Well, being with people I can trust does help," he hummed. "I'll be alright as long as I know I can talk if I need it." He patted the girl on the shoulder lightly and smiled softly. "You have enough to worry about already, don't stress about me too much. If I need to talk or if I need help ..I'll tell you, alright?" He did trust the girl, and he was glad she wanted to make sure he was alright. Yes, it was hard and terrifying, and the nightmares sucked, but he was used to them after all these years, and he could deal with them like he always had. But he would talk to the girl if it was just a hard day, or he really needed the support. Especially now, after she'd gone out of her way to make sure he was alright. Well, as alright as he could be, anyway. Edited at January 5, 2023 12:26 PM by NightClan
