"Maybe, or he's just waiting for more hare." She said, shrugging slightly. "Either way. he'll be with us for a while, already been with me for eight years so, bet he'll stay for a few more."

Sage chuckled softly and nodded. "He'll be good company, either way," he admitted. "Normally the dogs I see on the street are nasty creatures. He's....better," he added with a hum.

"Yeah, he's proved to be useful so, good to have him around." She responded, smiling slightly.Elara nodded as he talked about the street dogs, remembering them. "Those dogs are.......interesting, to say the least." The princess added, the last words skeptical.

Sage hummed with a sort of nod, grunting in agreement when she mentioned what she thought of the strays that were so common. "Nasty creatures," he grumbled. "Though I can't say I blame them. They were fighting for the same scraps I was," he added with a shrug, fingering a scar on his forearm - one of the many he'd gotten doing exactly that, fighting the dogs over scraps out of the trash.

"Yeah, can't blame 'em. Just trying to survive." She said, letting the wind rustle through the trees surrounding them. "Always felt bad passing them on the street with Nate, we both felt bad for them. Had enough to give, were never allowed too. That never helped only made it worse. Which is why i'm glad i'm out of that place, couldn't do jack crap." Elara grumbled, Varys grumbling aswell.

Sage nodded softly, chuckling after a moment. "Sometimes I did wonder why the palace never seemed to help us down in the lower cities," he noted. "I guess I just called it up to they just didn't care. Maybe they don't. But you're different," he mused, glancing at her. "Maybe that's why I agreed to this crazy adventure," he added, the last part really just a joke. He did enjoy her company, and he was honestly glad to be there with her.

"And of course it always leads to my idiot of a father, the money goes to war funds. It's like, we're not in a war? Why waste money?" She asks, just making fun of the king at this point. "Call me different or whatever you want, still me, still a princess *gag* , disgusting, I know, still belong to the biggest idiot on the whole planet." Elara said with a sigh, strokijg Varys' head. She chuckled ligtly at his last sentence, thinkig of a nice sentence to say. "No no no, less of 'crazy adventure' and more of 'necassary runaway'."

Sage grunted with a nod in response to her comments about her father. "People like to be prepared," he noted with a shrug. "You're dads scared he might need to have mediocre meat for dinner for a few months of war breaks out," he added with a snort. Though, when she said she was still a princess, he nodded. "Yeah, but that's not really your entire personality," he pointed out, chuckling at her last comment. "It'll be good for all of us, I think," he agreed.

She nodded, shrugging slightly as he talked about how being a princess wasn't her whole peronality. "I know, because if it was then I would've given up on a happy life," Elara mused, agreeing with a nod at his last sentence.

Sage nodded in agreement to her comment, chuckling slightly. "Maybe this is our chances to make a happy life," he mused, sort of running it over in his mind. He'd never allowed himself to even hope for anything better ...but here he was, running away with the princess of all things, a wolf pet, and his daughter. Things were going well .. hopefully, teyd stay that way.
