She relaxed for a moment hearing that nothing was wrong around them. Wither then tilted her head at West as he said that the problem was something to do with him. "Do you feel sick," she asks him, "weak from your wounds? Light headed?" She rambled off a few other small symptoms to try and figure out what was wrong with West.

West smiled slightly. "Nothing like that.. it's not pain. Really, I am fine." He shook his head, wondering why she was so worried. If he couldn't even identify the feeling... then it must not be that important.

"Oh," she says and sighs in relief, "that's good. I don't want you to be in pain anyway." Her eyes drifted over to Duke and the buck just in time to see the two collapse from tiredness on the ground beside one another and fall asleep. She smiled softly and giggled quietly.

West glanced back over at Duke and the young buck. He smiled slightly, glancing around warily. He turned his gaze back to the grass, taking a couple bites before walking over to the tree again and laying down. He put his head on the ground, falling into a fitful sleep.

She watched as West walked off to rest again. Wither hoped that West felt better soon and tried to not worry too much. She sighed and went over and took a long drink of water before finding a nice place to graze. She grazed quietly and eyed a few animals that stirred, some going to get a drink of water and others grazing quietly.

West woke up as a very loud clap of thunder boomed through the cave. He raised his head and flicked his ears. "Ah, the storm is almost over!" West exclaimed happily. There was another boom, this one louder than before. Definitely the loudest yet. West smiled slightly And laid his head back down, closing his eyes. He had always heard 'calm before the storm' but that really wasn't true. In the mountains it was the 'storm before the calm'. The storm always got its worst right before it quit... completely... with no warning. West had seen storms get so bad horses didn't know what to do... then five minutes later they were gone.

Wither perked up at the extremely loud crash of thunder. She looked towards the entrance as another crashed as well. Outside it looked like a wall of water falling from the sky. She looked towards West as she faintly heard him say that the storm was almost over and smiled. She really wanted to get out of here and go walk around. Sure she could do that right now, but she wanted to walk around the entire area.

West flicked his ears drowsily. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep through the loud bangs and crashes of thunder, and the bright flashes and stabs of lightning... so he finally opened his head and stood slowly, shaking. Then West walked over to the very entrance and stood, staring out into the pouring rain.

Wither perked her ears up as she heard movement and looked over to see West getting up again. She looked over at Duke and saw that he was still knocked out from playing with the buck earlier. 'He can sleep through anything,' she thinks with a sigh, 'and this is why he is the little brother.' She shakes her head some and watches as West walks over to the mouth of the cave and watches the rain.

West flicked his ears and slowly walked out of the cave, into the rain. Now that he was outside he confirmed for sure it was letting off. Slowly the rain let up until it was like a normally rainfall... then a drizzle... then it was gone. Within ten minutes. West shook his soaked body and walked over to the lake, taking a drink. He was overjoyed to be outside again... they had spent almost a week in the cave. It was one of the bigger storms.. obviously
