After a little while, really just finishing the rest of the papers that's been dumped on the desk before sighing and leaving the little office space to get back to her room... dinner seemed like a lot, so she was happy to just chill out in her room until Luther got back. She was a little worried that the next few day could be a lot... and her mother hadn't seemed at all worried about it. She just brushed it off and told Anya to deal with it. Well, she'd just have to unload on Luther later on, because it was something he'd have to deal with, too. (happy new year!) Edited at December 31, 2022 06:22 PM by Belle

(happy new year! It's only eight o'clock where I'm at so we def have different time zones haha!!) Eventually, after a while if laying there doing absolutely nothing, Sage decided to go see what Luther and Att were up to. Anya would probably be working....she had so much to do now, paperwork and all that stuff. He was glad it wasn't him...he'd take the slums in a heartbeat. At least he was free to do as he pleased. There were so many rules at the castle...so many things you had to do, a certain way to act if you wanted people to like you. Well, he'd take people not liking him if it meant being himself and keeping to his own values. He had a few good friends, and he was fine with that. He didn't need the world, only a few good people. He had Liz, and that was perfect, but now she was gone. Anya and Luther were great, but in the back of his mind he was still wary of another lie, or doing something to upset them. He hoped he could get over that, but he just wasn't sure he could. He loved Att too, but he couldn't help but feel guilty anytime he looked at the boy.

Anya sat in her room once she was all ready for bed, really just getting comfortable as she read her book. Soon enough, Luther showed up, and he didn't manage to get a word in before she started telling him about this meeting they had to plan... you'd think that the meeting would be low-key, that they'd just show up and leave, but the royal etiquette was so much more than that... and frankly, it was boring. They'd have to decorate the castle, make sure their high esteemed gests were well fed and comfortable, and make sure that there was decent lodging for them. Most importantly, they'd have to make sure they weren't making their rivals think they were being underestimated or disrespected... that was sure to cause some issues.

Sage really just wandered around for a while, not doing anything but just....walking. he didn't really pay attention to where he was going or what he was doing, as long as he avoided other people he was more then fine with just wandering around. He was still bored, but at least wandering around got him tired enough to head back to his room and fall asleep relitively quickly. (It's short my mom's cracking down in cleaning the house for our party later lol)

(No worries! Have fun with your party lol) After about an hour of just talking to Luther, the girl managed to get herself to sleep... though it was short and uncomfortable. She shouldn't stress herself out about this sort of thing... it was just a meeting, but if it went wrong then it'd be her fault... and that was a scary thought. When she woke up, she quickly got herself changed before going to talk to the chefs about what food would be served... then made her way to the head guard to get the guards on duty doubled. She should probably have the doctor warned, too... but it seemed like she should have the castle organised first.

(thanks lol) Sage woke up about ten o'clock, and the castle was already bustling. He wrinkled his nose, not really wanting to socialize but also very curious as to what was happening. It was obviously something important...the hallways were being decorated, and the guards were doubled and more...how should he put this...on guard than usual. Anya hadn't mentioned anything about something important, so it had obviously just come up. He stood in the doorway for a moment, heasitantly peeking out and Wondering what he should do. Eventually, though, he slipped back into the ward and pattered over to the doctor's office. He didn't really bother to knock anymore, if the man didn't want him there he'd just absentmindedly grunt rather then genuinely answer him. And he was fine with that, except he did really want to know what was going on. So, he barged inti the office, and the old man answered with a "don't know what's going on, boy," before Sage could even get a word out. He closed his mouth and sighed, plopping into a chair. "No idea at all?" The doctor responded with a grunt and a head shake, which really meant he had no idea either. Sage groaned again and then shrugged. "As long as it stays quiet in here I suppose it doesn't matter," he hummed. The doctor nodded and then shrugged."I'm sure Luther or Anya will stop by and fill us in. Just hang out here for a bit." Sage nodded and asked the man if he could help with anything, and the man sighed and pointed to some cups, telling him to put two pills in each one. He eagerly reached for the cups, sitting crosslegged on the floor and counting out the pills. It was kind of slow, but it got done

Anya really just ended up rushing around the castle until about lunchtime. She hadn't seen her mother... not once... so surely it couldn't be as big of a deal as she was making it out to be. She hadn't exactly done this sort of thing before, preparing for another kingdom to visit... of course, she'd seen her mother do it, but it seemed like the woman was just leaving it all up to her, which was... scary. She went to grab some lunch for herself and then another picky plate for Sage... she was going to talk to the doctor about this whole thing, just make sure he was prepared... there'd likely be more going on for him if something went wrong. She'd drop the food off with Sage while she was there. She made her way into the ward and looked into Sages little spot, but when he wasn't there she just sighed and went to knock on the doctors door.

When he heard the knock, Sage called fof whoever it was to come in the same time as the doctor did. That, of course, resulted in childish giggles from him as the doctor huffed out a breath and pointed back to the cups. "Pills," he grumbled, though sage saw the amusement in his eyes. So sage just grinned and ducked his head, continuing to count out the pills for each cup, as per the doctor's directions. He was glad to be helping ....it was something he could do while sitting there, so the doctor couldn't really say no to help.

Anya gave a small smile to the two when she walked in, pleased to see a slight smile on both the doctor and Sages face. She took a step or so into the room before placing the two plates on the side. "I brought you some lunch, if you want it," she told Sage before looking to the doctor with a slightly cocked head. "I just need to give you a bit of a heads up... we've got a meeting with another kingdom in a couple of days. I'm not sure how things will go, but I'd just like you to be prepared encase things don't exactly go to plan..." she trailed off slightly, knowing that things shouldn't go wrong... but she did want everyone to be prepared encase it did.

Sage nodded and then grunted. "So that's why everyones running about like their butts are on fire," he hummed, which resulted in another snort kind of chuckle from the doctor. He sighed when the doctor handed him the plate and wrinkled his nose, but the old man just gave him a look and said "you don't get to help if you don't eat," so he figured he'd better eat. It was better to nibble at some things and get to do something than to just sit around all day long.
