The doctor came in and checked her vitals. "Her vitals are looking fine You're welcome to stay here the night, and in which case we will supply some extra blankets." He offered, gesturing to the extra cabinets within the room. "Or you can go home and return anytime. Even in the middle of the night"

Nate nodded. "We're staying,"

The doctor nodded and left after handing them blankets and an extra chair that was more comfortable before leaving. Dakota woke, turning her head slightly with fear in her eyes. "Nate? Will you sleep with me?"

Nate nodded, "Of course," he murmured. He gently scooped her up and scooted her over so there was enough space. He curled into bed with her, placing Hunter between them, all cuddled up as a family.

Nate stayed up throughout the night.

Dakota woke the next morning, curling into a ball

Nate was still awake. "Hey, everything okay?"

"headache..." Was all she choked out, voice breaking in pain
