Anya went back to her room, where she got changed into something more comfortable and got herself to sleep. She woke up a little later than usual, and the other side of the bed was empty. God, had Luther not tried to wake her up? That wasn't like him at all. She got herself up and ready for the day, grabbed some breakfast then made her way towards her shared office like area with her mother. She had nothing to do, really... she had cracked down on work the day before, so there were only a couple of sheets to fill out. Once she'd done that, she let herself wander around the castle, lost for what to do. Att was in one of his little classes, and Luther was training, so it wasn't like she had anyone to bug until they'd gotten out. (ooh, a rival kingdom would be good! Would put a bit more adventure in there too)

Eventually, Sage got bored of just wandering aimlessly, so he decided to go down to the stables. He could sit there and watch the horses while he caught his breath. His side hurt a bit, but wasn't bothering him too much...maybe he could hop on Chaos and not die. The thought amused him, so he headed off to go find the stallion, who for some reason hadn't been sold yet. Well, he didn't care...it was nice to see an old friend anyway. He slid into the black horse's paddock and sat down underneath the tree, where he sighed contentedly and closed his eyes. He felt Chaos lay down next to him to graze and rest, so he leaned on the horses side happily. He dozed off soon, without realizing it, but the horse was fine to rest too.

Anya moved around the castle quietly, poking her nose into rooms and trying to find something to do. She poked her head out a window, leaning on the window cill as she looked over the stables. There were horses coming and going, and the cavalry were being handed horses off dealers and sellers. These horses, hopefully, would make solid field horses...war horses, if you will. If not, they would be sold on again. They only really had a couple of stallions... they were a lot to handle, but they brought more money in, and that, for sure, was a good thing. She glanced away from the busy main yard, and to the fields, where she saw Sage and Chaos resting happily... the horse had grown up, for sure. He'd filled out, and a bit more level headed than he'd been years ago. After a moment or so, the girl decided to go and annoy them. Well, not on purpose, but that was probably what would end up happening. She smiled to herself before making her way down to the fields, where she snuck in the field and quietly make her way up towards Sage, who'd rested his head on Chaos. She was careful not to disturb the horse too much, encase that made him stand up, but crouched down next to him and gave the boy a soft smile... she could tell if he was asleep or not, but he still looked so much younger when he slept... and it was still sweet. She gave him a gentle poke to the shoulder to try and wake him up, along with a slightly amused smile. "You still look so young when you're resting," she told him, a slight chuckle escaping her, though she wasn't too sure if he could hear her.

Sage hadn't noticed Anya come up and squat down next to him, so he jumped and yelped when she poked him. Though, he was rather amused by the situation as a whole, and huffed out a breath at Anyas teasing. He wrinkled his nose at the girl and stuck his tongue out at the horse, who'd make a nicker than sounded a bit too much like laughter for Sage's taste. Though, the amusement in his eyes told Anya that he wasn't actually mad. He felt his face redden at her comment, then, and crossed his arms. "I do not," he protested. Technically, he had no idea if he was older or younger than Anya...they were the same age, but since he didn't know his exact birth date, he couldn't even say he was older than her just for the sake of arguing. He remembered her saying something about making up a birthday, and settling in a date....it was coming up, but he sort of hoped she'd forgotten about that. He still wasn't a fan of a huge party, and he preferred to not be around a bunch of people. Her and Luther, and Att and the doctor...they were fine. But even still, he wasn't sure how to take it when they complimented him or did something nice for him. He just wasn't used to it, and it almost felt a bit wrong. It made him feel nice, of course, but it was still odd for him.

Anya gave a grin before settling down next to him. "Yeah, you do," she told him with a small chuckle. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about! It's sweet," she gave a bit of a smirk when she noticed his blush, but shook her head anyway... he never really had been very good at getting compliments, not that she could remember. "You've got a friend by the looks of it," the girl noted with a small smile before tilting her head towards the horse. She knew Sage liked the horse... she remembered when she first saw him pull the horse out of the stable, and he just seemed so... happy. It was nice that he'd found the horse again, and that he could see him when he so pleased.

Sage pouted, alibet playfully, and huffed out a breath. "That's not something people usually think to call me," he huffed, though his tone was definitely amused. Then he glanced back over at the horse with a small smile. "It's nice to come out here. Animals are sometimes a refresher from people," he chuckled. Then he grinned at the girl. "He makes a better pillow than you, too. Not as bony," he giggled, teasing the girl a bit. He was glad he'd found Chaos...he hadn't expected the horse to have still been there. Though, the stallion had definitely aged much better than he had, and he was a good horse, so he could see why they'd decided to keep him.

Anya rolled her eyes slightly at his comment, though a little chuckle did escape her. "If I was that bony then you wouldn't have chosen to use me as a pillow," she informed him with a bit of a chuckle. "And if you did, then that makes you stupid," she hummed, though her voice was laced with amusement. She reached a hand back to pat the stallions side gently, a small smile painted across her face. He was a good horse, she could admit that... and it was nice to see Sage so at peace with him. She carefully leaned back, though, resting her head softly against his side. "He does make a good pillow, though."

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "Some parts were less bony than others," he hummed in a sort of teasing way. Then he gave the girl a crooked grin. "I never claimed to not be stupid," he chirped. He chuckled and leaned back against Chaos again, next to Anya, once the girl had rested against the stallions side. It was a nice day out ...and he had to admit, it was nice to just relax with Anya again.

Anya chuckled softly before shaking her head. "Yeah, well you never made a very good pillow yourself," she hummed before cocking her chin up ever so slightly so that the sun could wash over her. Really, the warmth of the sun before a rough winter was always nice... even the castle had issues when it came to food in the colder weather. Her hand ran along the stallions side, his soft coat a type of comfort. Horses always seemed to a comfort of sorts, even the slightly more hot headed steeds.
