The girl squinted at him, "you need to take better care of your things," she huffed, turning her nose up, "which means not getting into fights, dragging yourself througn dirt or whatever you do," she mocked, puttingnon a slightly more regal tone. She was only teasing, but she was also hoping there was nothing white in the little mound of clothes that he could ruin. Anya glanced from the lake to the village, a look of wonder creeping onto her face, "so where are we going tonight?" She chriped, "did you have anywhere in mind or are we going to wing it?" She asked with a grin. Anya didn't mind either way. She was just exited to have the company she could babble to as she wandered through the town. Edited at August 3, 2022 05:44 PM by Belle

Sage shook his head with a chuckle. "Just winging it. To be honest we're limited with places to go unless you want to see corpses rotting, which I'm sure you would not be pleased to see." He stood up and brushed his hand off on his pants and stuck his tongue out at her playfully. "At least I'm having fun while trashing my clothes. You gotta decorate a huge house while I run around having fun," he teased.

Anya gave a half hearted, slightly sarcastic chuckle, "Fun? Really? Is that what you want to call it?" Anya teased with a grin. Getting into fights wasn't really Anyas idea of fun - perhaps it was thrilling, for the likes of Sage at least. Anya hopped up from the ground and tried to get sand out of her hair, "I know decorating isn't the most exiting thing in the world, but I quite literally get to snack on the best food in the kingdom. How many people can say that?" She asked with a grin. Anya peered out towards the village. "Winging it it is. Can we go through the upper town though? I've never been down there." She shrugged. The upper town normally had more to do with the castle, so she never normally brought ber adventures up there. If Sage knew the place though, she wanted to find out more about it.

Sage shrugged. "Sure we can go up there, as long as you don't mind people giving us dirty looks or occasionally throwing things at us because they see me." He grinned. "Apparently I'm crude and vulgar," he chuckled, quoting the slight upperclassmen of the town. It would have been an insult, but it was all true, so really it was just fun to laugh about. Then he grinned wider. "You have a point with the food," he admitted. "But nothing beats freshly picked berries from the woods." They only came about in certain times, though, and we're hard to find since everyone wanted them. They were usually gone by the time you found a berry bush.

Anya rolled her eyes at him as a smile grew on her face, "Well, they aren't wrong. I'd say you're both of those things," she placed a finger on her chin thoughtfully, "Not to your face of course, I value my life, but still." She shrugged. In the lower town, she would be worried about having things thrown their way; but the upper areas, it was more likely that she'd be noticed. If things weren't thrown their way, then they should be worried Anya had been recognised and hall their asses out of there. Anya wandered along the path, just a pace behind Sage before taking a skip-step to stroll next to him, "did you get up to anything on your exiting day off? Other than getting soaked, of course."

Sage laughed and shrugged. "That's why it's funny. They mean it as an insult but it's really not." He turned his head and grinned over at her crookedly. "I got more than two hours of sleep," he giggled. "Which, let's admit, is not very exciting but it gave me energy to go wander around and get into trouble afterwards." He made a face. "I didn't find much though. The streets were pretty quiet." He shrugged. "And Lizzie slept for quite a while and stayed in the house most of the day. So I just wandered around." He giggled again. "Yes, because getting soaked in 50 degree weather is oh so fun," he joked. He was used to it, so it wasn't horrible, but it definitely wasn't enjoyable.

Anya raised a curious brow at him. Two hours seemed like nothing. The girl normally got to sleep until just before noon. Which only just gave her the energy to do whatever little needless tasks needed after her little nights out. Still, she supposed that you would get used to such little rest after a while, finding different ways to keep yourself going. Anya wrinkled her nose at him teasingly, "I thought we agreed that you weren't going to seek out trouble on your day off," she murmured with a snicker. The girl went quiet for a moment as she thought. What if the maid she had run into the night before was up in the village? If the two ran into her, Anya would have to talk to her - convince her to keep her mouth shut by any means. Edited at August 4, 2022 11:09 AM by Belle

Sage grinned over at her. "I didn't get into any fights, if that's what you're saying. Just caused some teeny tiny issues to deflate some egos," he cackled. He put on a thoughtful look and smirked slightly. "When else am i gonna to it? With you? I don't think I could prank you every night and get away with it without you figuring me out and getting me back," he giggled. It would happen eventually...Anya was smart, and he could tell that if he pranked her she would have no trouble in getting him back. It would be entertaining, though, he couldn't argue with that. Maybe he could flick water at her next time they went by the lake. She didn't like water, so he couldn't nudge her into it, but flicking a bit of water in her direction wouldn't be an issue. Plus, it would dry by the time she had to leave. He grinned to himself as he thought, and wondered why pranking her suddenly sounded so much more fun than pranking other people, even though pranking them was pretty darn fun.

The girl eyed him slightly, "I'm pretty sure people get upset when you do that sort of thing," Anya chuckled, giving him a questioning look. He was right, he really wouldn't get away with pranking her... She didn't think he would, at least. Despite being left to herself unless it was a public affair, the girl had become pretty good at picking up on what was going through people's heads When people were scared to talk to you, you would kind of figure out body language pretty quickly. Of course, none of her maids, servants, or guards had ever pranked her as such, but her devilish little cousins were more than pleased to tease her. Not in a friendly way, either. What they did were acts of jealousy. For being so close to the throne, yet so far. Because of their tormenting though, Anya had been quite good at carrying out little practical jokes. Glue-in-the-shoe type jokes. Classic as they were, she had always enjoyed their squeals. "I take it you don't come up to the higher areas often? Or do you go up just to get food thrown at you?" She asked with a sarcastic scoff.

Sage laughed and shook his head. "People don't always throw food, it's more often rocks or pinecones or something along those lines." He shrugged. "I sneak through here just to annoy certain egotistical people. If they hate me for no reason I might as well give them a reason. Plus it's fun and oh so satisfying to see their reaction when they realize the clothes they just had washed are now dirty again or there's bugs or rats on their front porch." He thought for a second. "I only wander up here if I'm really bored or just in a bad mood and want to break up some egos." He lifted a shoulder in a slight shrug and looked around. "We're here. Not many people out at night but the town square is still cool." He pointed to the large square in the center of the town that was decorated with pillars all over and shrubs and all sorts of reflective mosaic tiles on the ground.
