Anya gave a slight smile to the boy at his little comment, glad to see that he wasn't just sitting around bored the whole time. She remembered that what he hated about the ward when he used to be there... maybe he was just happy to have some form of human contact now... with people that wouldn't hurt him so much. "I'm sure you will," she hummed before cocking her head slightly, "he seems to really like you. I've never seen him so... happy," she murmured, flashing the boy another smile. "You seem happier, too. I take it some good food did that, hmm?" She asked in a slightly teasing manner, knowing food could really only do so much.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "He never had kids of his own, so I assume that has something to do with it. And the fact that I remind him of a, how did he put it....'stupid version of his younger self'." He cocked his head at the girl at her next comment curiosly. "Really? He always seemed like he had a sense of humor. Just a dry one." He huffed and wrinkled his nose then. "You just want me to eat more," he joked, though that was, in reality, probably what the girl wanted. "Actually, I think Atts been theost helpful," he admitted. "There's something about that innocence that just...makes me feel better, I guess. Like the word maybe isn't always such a hellhole." He shrugged and blushes slightly then. "I dunno, it's kinda stupid."

Anya hummed and gave a bit of a half smile when he said the doctor had humor. She supposed that was right, the man did have his own humour, but it wasn't all good humor. "You can be unhappy and make a joke or two," she noted quietly before cocking her head at him. "No, I get it. He's so... good. It's nice to talk to someone so full of life," she murmured before giving a bit of a chuckle. "Yeah, that's what I was going for. You need to eat, please?" She hummed before giving a rather innocent looking smile.

Sage chuckled and nodded. He knew that cracking a joke when you were at your lowest was, indeed, something that often happened. At least for him. He stuck his tongue out at Anya and made a face at her. "You, miss Anya, are anything but innocent," he grumbled, though in a sort of fond way. "And I eat plenty," he protested with a sort of giggle. "You and the doctor both think I starve myself!"

Anya chuckled and shook her head. "I'm about as innocent as it gets up here... but we're not talking about me," she hummed with a chuckle. She resided a brow when he promised he ate plenty. "I don't believe you," she murmured with a cocked head. "I've never seen you eat a full meal... and looking at the state of you, you do stave yourself," she murmured quietly before shaking her head.

Sage wrinkled his nose slightly. "That doesn't count," he whined. "I don't purposely starve myself, there's just no food out there," he snorted, though rather amused. "Innocent my ass," he grumbled. "You're not that innocent. Maybe I should ask Luther what goes on in private," he giggled, a bit of his old teasing self coming out to tease the girl. They probably weren't doing anything, but they still slept together, so it had to count for something. Besides, if he had a chance to tease the girl, he would.

Anya rolled her eyes, a slight childish giggle escaping her. "Please," she huffed, a more genuine smile across her face. "Go ahead, ask him. There's not much to tell," she noted, shaking her head. It was a little amusing to think about. Really, the only person she'd done anything with to this day was Sage. And, with any luck, it'd stay that way until her and Luther were married. "I can rest easy knowing that I'm more innocent than half the people here... and that includes you," she hummed thoughtfully before shaking her head. "Well, you've got food now so I suggest that you eat it."

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "I can't argue with that, because if you were lying I would be able to tell," he chuckled. He gave her a lopsided grin. "I never claimed to be innocent though," he hummed. He huffed out a breath and threw another cracker at Anya before nibbling at the other one left on his plate. "I eat plenty. Just don't have much of an appetite. Small stomach, I guess." He shrugged lightly and picked at the sticker on the apple, not really wanting anything else but knowing he did need to eat. "The doctor gave me a pill to take for like..whatever basic vitamins and stuff he talked about," he added on. "I'll be fine."

Anya couldn't help the little giggle that escaped her when he chucked the cracker at her, but caught it and started nibbling away at the edges. "You wouldn't be able to tell if I was lying if you tried," she hummed lightly. She gave a slightly nod when he said he just didn't have an appetite. "I suppose that checks out," she murmured before cocking her head. "Hey, did you really struggle for food that much when you left? I though sending you away somewhat healthy would do you some good... you know, make you strong enough to face the slums a little better."

Sage laughed and shook his head. "Nope, I can definitely tell when you lie. Your brow wrinkles and you flush," he informed the girl, rather amused. He thought for a moment and then shrugged. "I guess so," he hummed. "I mean, I didn't have any money, and I was working day and night to try and appease my father."
