Gale didn't hesitate, just quickly snapped the man's neck before stabbing him in the chest, for extra spice, before going back to Kayla. "C'mon, he's gone now." |

Kayla nodded, knowing it likely wasn't. She used to kill, not cower in the shadows at a man's touch. |

Gale turned into a alley, heading to the end of it to find out there was a locked gate, and behind them, A entire batallion of guards, armed, and waiting to capture him. (And possibly Kayla, but heck, how would he know?) |

Kayla reached and brushed her hand against his wrist, wanting him to tell her it was alright but she knew he wouldn't. It wasn't. They were trapped, fish in a barrel and they couldn't get out of this one. Kayla moved to grab one of the daggers off Gale and held it tightly. She wasn't just afraid, she was angry- pissed even. |

Gale panicked, being drawn back into memories. He sprinted for the gate, attempting to climb over it before the group surged and yanked him down, shackling him. The man got up quickly and got the shackles off, climbing up onto the gate, trying to kick a guard off him. |

Kayla's mind went blank as she began slashing and stabbing various guards around the two of them. One thing was on her mind: Protect Gale. She got three down before a blade knicked her arm and she spun, stabbing a guard. She couldn't hear, couldn't think, just saw red and moved lethally |

His survival instinct kicked in, climbing over the gate and throwing himself over the side before sprinting off. |

Kayla saw a clear patch toward the street and took it, sprinting down the road and into the woods. She had a dagger, but she still felt weaponless without Gale beside her. She didn't speak, just ran silently into the woods, deeper and deeper, until she couldn't see the town behind her. The footsteps stopped and she took a glance behind her, seeing no guards. She sighed, panting a bit from the running after the adreneline wore off. |
