Anya gave a slight nod. "I didn't think you were meant to be out of bed yet," she murmured gently, remembered how log it had taken the boy to get back on his feet all the other times he'd been in such bad condition. "I haven't seen him in a while. Or, that's what if feels like." She then cocked her head at the boy. "You're not meant to be giving the child weapons," she teased with a bit of a chuckle before shaking her head. "I just came past to... apologise, I suppose. For shouting at you. You didn't deserve that," she eventually murmured with a soft sigh. "You've been through a lot, and being yelled at was something you don't need."

Sage waved off the girl's concern. "The old man doesn't care as long as I promise not to break myself again," he said in a somewhat amused tone of voice. "I had to promise to eat regular meals but it's worth it I suppose," he hummed. He grinned over at the girl when she teased him and then cocked his head slightly when she apologized. "Well, I can't blame you, I yelled too," he sighed. "Besides, I wasn't exactly helping matters. I'm grateful for everything you've done, I really am. Im just...tired, I suppose."

Anya hummed slightly before giving a slight nod. "No... it wasn't right," she murmured quietly before shaking her head. "You were trying to open up and for some dumb reason I thought it was alright to talk to you like that." Anya glanced down again, pursing her lips slightly. Really? Was he that alright with it? Surely not. Well... she didn't know. The old Sage would have probably held a grudge, but this Sage just seemed... weak, she supposed. That wasn't a nice way to put it, but there wasn't really any other way to put it. She smiled slightly at the thought of the doctor telling him off for missing meals... the man had always liked Sage, but it did seem like he was trying a little bit more to act a little bit more authoritative with him now.

Sage blinked slowly and looked at the girl for a moment before sitting up and sighing. "Really, it's alright. We both got upset, and started yelling." He shrugged slightly and grinned sheepishly. "Besides, you left with a sort of kind word. I just didn't realize it at the time," he admitted. He hoped the girl wouldn't be cautious around him after this. "I don't mind you setting my brain straight. I do mind when someone takes something I say and turns it into a conversation about themselves," he murmured. He trusted the girl...he'd listen to her. Even if her words were sharp, it wouldn't be bad necessarily. He smiled slightly when he saw the girl smile, glad that something he'd said had cheered the girl up. He was going to say something else, but after a moment of silence the doctor came into the room with a snort. "Now, that wasn't so hard, was it," he huffed, shoving a plate into Sage's chest. "You're late," he grumbled. Sage started to protest, but the doctor snorted again and waved him off. "I'm not leaving until you eat at least a quarter of what's on that plate," he announced, pulling his notebook out of his pocket and a pen from...somewhere, as if he'd knew this was happening and had prepared for it. Sage groaned and threw Anya an amused look as the doctor settled into a chair by the bed, scribbling away into the notebook but somehow also keeping an eye on sage at the same time.

Anya nodded quietly. He did have a point. He was opening up, trying to trust her, and yet she still managed to turn it around on him. Make it about herself. She let years of keeping those feeling pent up inside out on him, at a time where he really, really didn't need it. She felt her stomach churning at that thought. She felt awful, like she'd just done something horrible to someone who relied on her. Sage didn't rely on her, not in that way, so she wasn't sure why she felt so guilty like that. Well, she'd apologised... and he said it was fine, so surely that meant it was all good. She looked to the doctor and gave a small, almost weathered smile to the man, giving a slight nod. No, it wasn't hard, but she still felt sick now. Really, the more she thought about it the more ill she felt. "I suppose not," she murmured quietly before following the plate of food with her eyes, a small chuckle escaping her. "You heard him. Eat. You promised you would," she hummed with a bit of a pout.

Sage groaned and shook his head. "Stubborn. You're both so stubborn. No wonder you get along so well," he grumbled, nibbling on some of the crackers that was on the plate. He didn't mind, of course, but it was a bit amusing to hear it coming from both of them. And, well...he had to argue with them about something. That hadn't changed at least...he was still stubborn and more than a little bit stupid. But whatever, he'd eat. He was a bit hungry by then...he'd never admit that to anyone, let alone the doctor, but still.

Anya furrowed her brows slightly when he called the two stubborn. Well, he wasn't wrong. Anya was bossy and stubborn and demanding, and the doctor was pretty much the same. She'd spent more time with the man than her own father did, so she supposed she probably did get that from him to some extent. She was like her mother, too though. And that was something she wished she hadn't picked up. "I don't think we're that stubborn, do you?" She asked with a cocked head towards the doctor. "Maybe you're just not used to it," she mused before looking back to Sage, a slight smile crossing her face again.

Sage huffed out a breath when the doctor grunted in agreement and threw a cracker at Anya in a playful manner. The doctor eyed him again and stopped writing for the moment. "You'd best not be throwing that food, unless you plan on eating off the floor," he grumbled. Sage made a face at the man and flicked a cracker at him, and the man responded with taking out a bunch of crackers from his pocket and flicking one back at Sage. "I have more ammo," he huffed at the younger boy. "You don't wanna be picking that fight now," he muttered, though an almost playful glint in his eyes told what he wasn't saying. Sage groaned and rolled his eyes but started nibbling away at another cracker. "I'll get you some time," he complained, though almost cheerfully.

Anya sat for a couple of moments, a smile across her face as she she watched the two and their playful little argument. It was nice to see Sage happy... and the doctor, too for that matter. He quite obviously liked Sage. She hadn't seen the man genuinely happy for quite some time... but she supposed no one in the castle could be happy if you'd been there as long as he had. She did catch one of the crackers, and pulled her legs up on the chair she was sat on before starting to nibble away at it. She had a feeling she should just leave Sage alone now, let him get on with... well, whatever was going on, but she still wanted to talk a bit... get to know him. Well, she'd just be quiet until they'd had their fun, which was nice to go see. If either of them needed her to go, then they'd ask and she'd be fine with it

Sage had almost forgot about Anya until the doctor threw the entire packet of crackers he had at his head and slipped out of the room before Sage could chuck it back at him with a slight smirk. He huffed and fell backwards against the bed again with a slight grunt. "I'll outsmart him someday," he grumbled, though it was in a sort of fond tone of voice. He liked the doctor...he was actually awake now and could have some fun with the man, and it was nice
