Anya furrowed her eyes slightly as Sage offered to reach the boy how to use a sword, very reluctant about the idea. She didn't want this Sage around Att too much... but if he was planning on getting better, being more lively, and of course if Luther was going to be there then it might be a good idea. Att would be exited about it, anyway, and if it helped her get him into his class, then she wasn't coming to complain. "Really?" He asked, and when Sage confirmed her squealed exitedly before running towards Anya with a grin and gave her a hug before waddling off towards the nursery, where his class would take place. "Thank you," Anya murmured with a small smile. "He's been having issues with the other children, so he's not too keen about going," he noted quietly. It was sad, really. The only other kids there were her family... her little cousins. And Att seemed to be singled out by them all. He was so full of life and energy, and all he wanted to do was make friends, but it seemed he was finding that hard. "Are you not going to eat at all? If you don't then Luther is going to have to help shove another tube down your throat."

Sage couldn't help but grin at the boys excitement at the prospect of learning how to use a sword. It was a real smile....one the crinkled his eyes and made his face muscles hurt. He hadn't smiled like that in years...not since he and Anya had spent time at the tavern last. He sighed and nodded. "I stay in the shadows for the same reason," he hummed. "And I don't think you want me giving him advice on how to deal with it often," he chuckled. Really, his advice off the top of his head would be to torture the other kids. Not physically, of course...the boy wouldn't know what real torture was like. But teasing the other children wouldn't help. Talking back enough to shut them up would probably work...but if he was being raised as a royal, that wasn't the type of behavior a prince would have. "Though, I'm not sure you want anything I have running off on the boy," he sighed, settling backwards on his pillow and closing his eyes. Really, he was the last person who should be the boys hero...not only had he practically given up and wasn't the person the boy had heard stories about, but their rankings were so vastly different. He wasn't someone the young prince should really even be spending time with...he should be on his knees before the boy, subject to his every whim if he was even allowed to be in the boy's sight. But for some reason, Anya and Luther liked him, and Att absolutely adored him. He didn't know why, but he supposed he couldn't complain. He wrinkled his nose slightly at Anyas threat and chuckled slightly. "Ouch," he hummed. "I don't think any of us want that," he said in a rather amused voice. "I'll eat something later...once I get decent sleep in. I was up most of last night," he admitted. "Promise," he added. Though, he felt bad at that...the last promise hed made to the girl was that he'd come back, and he certainly hadn't kept that one. He felt the familiar ball of ice in his chest at the thought, face pinching and brows furrowing. The boy had lifted his spirits, but now once he started thinking....everything came back to haunt.

Anya shook her head slightly. "No, I don't want you around him too much until you're better... do you understand?" She asked with a slightly cocked head. She'd brought the boy to Sage, but it was only because she thought it would help Att... Sage seemed happy too, and she was glad, but the boy wasn't exactly in the best of mind. Last night had proved that. She didn't need whatever was going on in Sages head rubbing off on little Att. She didn't know what Sage was thinking now, but she doubted it would be good things. What if he still wanted to get himself killed? Or started to talking to the boy about how awful the higher ups were? What if Att started to resent them because of that? No, that wasn't what she wanted. She also didn't want the child to see Sage in a bad light... she didn't care for him the way she once had, but that didn't mean she didn't want Att to like him. She didn't want the boy to see him as weak, or feeble... she wanted him to see Sage the way she described him in her stories... the way she remembered him. He might never be that person again, but there was no reason he couldn't act like it once he was better. She gave a slight nod when he promised to eat... god, he always used to say that, and he never actually did. She frowned slightly and held out her fist to the boy, he pinky sticking out. "Really, you promise?" She raised a brow before shaking her head. "But do you pinky promise?" She asked, a small smile growing on her face. "You have to pinky promise," she chucked slightly... god, she had to be spending too much time with little children if she was resorting to pinky promises... whatever the hell they were.

Sage grunted in agreement with the girl...really he knew if he pushed himself too much then he'd end up passing out on the boy eventually accidentally. As long as he could sleep through the night he'd be fine though, as long as he kept things short at the beginning. He'd get better soon though...he was already much better, so he hoped than in a week or so he'd be able to get up and move around, if the queen even allowed him to stay that long. No doubt the woman was seething that he was even back, and she didn't know the extent of it. Though, that was all over now. He snorted out a laugh at Anyas childish wish of a pinkie promise. "Now I know where Att gets it from," he teased the girl lightly. "Fine, I pinkie promise," he chuckled at her insistance, holding out a hand to the girl, more than amused by the whole thing. It was a bit shocking to see the difference between their hands too...hers were still smooth, not used to a day of physical work other than signing things or looking pretty. His were rough and calloused, covered with scares and whatever else came along with the slums, not to mention practically just bones. He was slim, he knew that, but he had almost just starved to death...he'd be better soon. Either way, he made sure to grip pinkies with enough strength so as not to worry the girl.

Anya gave a grin when he hooked his finger around hers. "Att would be luckly to take after me!" She retorted with a bit of a chuckle. She gripped onto his pinkie and gave it a small shake before chuckling again, rather amused by it. She'd definitely spent too much time with the children... whatever, if she took on some childish tendencies she'd know why. She gave his finger a little squeeze before placing his hand back down into his chest and pushing him into the bed slightly with her palm in a teasing way. "Get some sleep, and then eat! Don't you dare think about breaking a pinkie promise, they're important," she told him with a playfully wrinkled nose before standing up. "See you later, Sage," she murmured quietly as she made her way out and towards the little office. She'd had a desk for herself put in, so she found she spent a lot of time in there... she didn't mind it, and it was quiet unless her mother had something important to talk to her about. Once she got seated, though, she found herself staring at her hand... Sages hands were bigger than hers, but they were thinner... really they we're just bone with a bit of skin... and had his hands really been so rough, or where hers just soft? She didn't know. It was strange. Hopefully once he'd had some good food he'd start fo get better... his skin would heal up and maybe he'd be a bit happier. She wasn't counting on it, though.

Sage snorted and rolled his eyes, though he gave the girl a crooked grin, alibet a tired one. "I wouldn't think of it," he viewed with a small chuckle, and then squeaked when she pushed him back against the bed. Really, he would probably crash as soon as the girl left, so that wasn't an issue. He smiled up at the girl when she said her goodbyes, glad that they seemed to be getting along, and that they still had a pretty strong bond, even if it was just friendship. Maybe they'd learn to love eachother as brother and sister might, or a love as best friends did. He still had the soft smile on his face as he fell asleep, wondering about what the future might hold for him...in a positive light for the first time in a very, very long time.

Anya got to work after a few minutes of just... thinking. It was pretty much noon now, so she had a lot to catch up on. She was a bit worried about Att... she hoped he was getting along with everyone fine, that he was happy, and she was also concerned about Luther, even if there wasn't a reason for it. She pretty much played the role of mother to the both of them. She did find herself actually exited about the prospect of them all being a real family, though. She didn't love Luther in that way, but she could pretend until she did... if she ever did. If she wanted to keep two kingdoms happy, then she wouldn't get much of a choice in the matter. Still, she'd give Luther an heir... they had Att, but he wasn't really their son, so while he might have the title of a prince for the time being, when their own child came along he'd have that taken off him. The perfect picture for her family since she'd been a kid had been three kids... hopefully two boys and a girl, but now that just seemed like a lot of work... so just the one would do, but she'd have to pray that it'd be a boy, or she'd just have child after child until one came along. She didn't like children too much, they were like green bananas... people didn't buy green bananas because they weren't ripe. Children are just people... but not ripe. Even with that thought process, she imagined she'd like her own kids well enough... well, she loved Att whole heartedly, and he wasn't even hers.

Sage slept for quite a while, and pretty deeply too. When he woke up, he sat up in bed and noticed a plate full of food sitting on the bedside table. He chuckled slightly and smiled before reaching out to grab some crackers off the plate. Apparently Anya wasn't the only one who wanted him to eat. He nibbled on the crackers and then decided on an apple for while he worked on another drawing, this one of Att running around the room happily. He'd missed the boy... actually he'd missed more than just Att, but still. It was good to see how well he was doing.

After about an hour or so, Anya took a glance up at the clock before sighing and standing up to grab Att. He'd probably had more then enough of class, and other kids. She maybe she'd take him out to watch Luther for a bit... he might enjoy it. She still wanted to make sure Sage would be alright, too, but he could wait... he had the doctor seeing to him, after all. When she thought about it, she was so... happy to see the boy with Att. Att was bouncy and playful, a bit like a puppy really, and it was difficult not to be happy around him... still, it was nice to see Sage so up beat, even if he wasn't feeling amazing.

Sage finished both the apple and the drawing relatively quickly, and then decided to ask the doctor if he could find a branch. The doctor looked confused until Sage explained he promised the boy sword lessons, so he wanted to make Att a wooden sword for his size body. The doctor sighed and went out the door, grumbling something about teenagers, though a slight smile was on his wrinkled old face. He returned shortly, with a branch and knife Sage knew would work well, though he'd already stolen one of the kitchens knives. Anya had the dagger she'd given him, and while she had the right to do it, it had left him without any sort of weapon, so he had felt the need to take one when he got the chance. But either way, he used the doctors knife....he could keep the other a secret for now.
