Sage grinned and crouched, ready for another attack. "What, you didn't think my first priority was getting her out? You're slipping, Roxie," he taunted. Maybe goading her on wasn't the best idea, but he couldn't help it. He was furious with her, madder than he ever was at Death. "And to think it'se who's going to kill you." He shook his head, faking sadness. "What a disappointment. I would hate to be in your shoes." He could feel broken ribs from where she had slammed him against the wall but have no sign of it. Besides, they weren't deadly. Yet. |

Roxie growled and shifted into her demon form "I am so going to beat your ass now!" She hissed grabbing him by the throat with her powers clenching it tightly "I'll bury you so far down your kid will be in collage by the time you crawl your way back up!" She shouted tossing him out of the already broken window and through the wall of the next building over following him and simply wailing on him with all of her powers that she could call on she was aiming blows to kill not just hurt but to kill she could always find Max later. |

Sage had figured that was what would happen, although he hadn't expected the choking. He thought she would make him die slower. Huh. He couldn't respond since he couldn't breathe but he still wriggled around, getting blows in where he could. They got weaker and weaker though, the longer he couldn't breathe, his vision waving and coming in and out. |

Eventually Roxie let him go and tossed him into some desks like a ragdoll as this was an office building "You're still a little weakling..." She hissed "Just as you always were... Only now you're worse!" She cried "That human isn't doing you any favors... She's made you weaker..." She hissed "You and that mixed breed brat of yours will join the ranks of the demons again weather you want to or not!" She hissed her pupils turning into slits. |

Sage grunted when he hit the desks and slid to the floor. He looked up, his pupils just as this as hers. "That's where you went wrong," he hissed. "You're fighting for yourself, but I'm fighting for them. And that's why I'm going to kill you tonight." He raised his hand and sent a blast her way. It wasn't very strong, he admitted that, but he needed to get her closer. Close range attacks were his thing. And Roxie was mad so hopefully she would take the bait before he passed out...already he was seeing black spots and he could feel himself slipping away. |

Roxie was blind with Fury and easily dodged the attack jumping to the side crashing onto a few desks giving a small groan, she wasn't used to being hurt... Usually she hurt others not the other way around. She was quick to get to her feet knowing Sage would be on the move to attack her any second if he was smart... When she got up again unfortunately... Her predictions were true and she was met face to face with him her purple eyes looking into his red ones long range attacks were her thing... She wasn't good at close range so she knew immediately that Sage had the advantage miss "Untouchable" was about to lose that title... |

Sage grinned and put his hand over her face. "Checkmate," he hissed as he sent all of his remaining energy into her brain, stopping it. Once he knew she was gone, he collapsed, knowing Maxine would be safe. Roxie would come back, but it would take her a while...he had pretty much exploded her brain. His chest heaved as he fought to breathe and he looked up at the moon, wondering if Maxine could see it too. He hoped she could stay strong....he knew it would be a while before he came back this time. The bright, cold moon was the last thing he saw before everything went black. |

For the first time ever there was fear in Roxies eyes just before her head burst open and she disappeared. Maxine was still on the road on the outskirts of the town trying not to break down into tears as she drove what was she going to do now? She wondered No... No don't think like that... He'll come back for you... He promised. She told herself. As the months passed she got further and further away from the last place she'd seen Sage... She was beginning to think maybe he wasn't coming back this time... It had been three months... What was she suppose to think? Maybe death was pissed and wouldn't let him come back... Or maybe he just couldn't come back this time... She had no idea... What she did do however was a lot of research... On the internet... In churches wherever she could find the information about ways to protect her and her child from demons... Now with one of the tattoos she'd drawn for herself was a demonic anti-tracking rune... And inside the tiny apartment she now called home she had demon proofing runes on her walls in hopes that even if they did find her they couldn't get near her or her baby as long as she was inside the walls of her apartment... She only had one thing on her mind aside from Sage and that was their child... She was determined to do everything and anything she could to keep it safe... Before she drifted off to sleep at night however she'd call out to him begging for him to find her to come back to her and their child before she drifted off to sleep at night usually in a fit of tears. |

Sage opened his eyes and sat up, looking around. He was in an alleyway to a town and sighed a breath of relief. The collar would make him regenerate near to his master, and if he was here then it meant Maxine was safe. He stepped out of the alley, raising his hand to shield his face from the sun as he tried to figure out which direction to go. |

Max was at the store, she was craving something so she went to buy it... She had a somewhat steady income again and was working two jobs to save for whatever the baby would need... Luckily she worked here too so she got an employee discount on whatever she bought. "Craving again Maxine?" One of her fellow employees (who was working) asked teasingly "Yeah but I can't figure out what it is I'm craving..." She admitted "How is little one anyway?" He asked with a chuckle "Fine... I think I felt a little flutter of movement but I can't be sure." She admitted "Now get back to work Ethan before we both get into trouble..." She said sternly. Nobody at work knew the pain she was hiding behind her smiles. When she finally found what she was craving she started walking home gently rubbing the bump she had underneath the loose tank top she was wearing underneath her light cardigan as she did so... If she could hide it she would she didn't want hands all over her and she didn't want to attract any unnesicary attention to herself. "Don't you worry I'll feed you when we get home." She chuckled lovingly as she carried her bags. Her hair was shorter now... Long enough to be put in a braid but it was only about half the length it was before... She seemed confident but anyone that really knew her would know she was ready to fall apart at any moment... She just wanted Sage back. |
