(No worries aha) Luther wrinkled his nose slightly at the idea, but he'd be happy to help for a bit. He had nothing better to do, not really. "Poor thing," he heard Anya hum before giving the doctor a slight nod. "I'll give you a hand," he sighed. He watched Anya as the girl stood up and dusted herself off. "Come find me when he wakes up. I don't want to be hanging around here." She looked to the doctor after a moment and gave a soft smile. "Just help him get better, please," she huffed before placing a light kiss to Luther's head and slipping away. There wasn't really any reason for her to be there until the bit later.

The doctor grunted and nodded at Anya as she left the room. She was right, she technically didn't need to be here, but he did notice the fact that the girl cared quite a bit less than she had in the past. He wondered how Sage would take it when he found out. Well, if he woke up, that is. He let out a breath before hauling himself up from the chair he was in and moving somewhat stiffly over to the area he kept all his equipment before gathering the immediate tool he needed and then wandering back over to the bedside, patting Luther on the shoulder as he went. "Pull a chair up, boy," he half grumbled, since he was, admittedly, a bit worried about how this would all go. He instructed Luther on how to hold him down so he could have plenty of room and light during the operation. "Put as much weight on him as you need. It shouldn't hurt him at all, so unless he actually can't breathe keep it on him," he told the boy as he pulled the cap off the needle and injected the liquid into the much smaller boy. Sage flinched slightly, then relaxed again, much to the doctor's relief. He waited a few minutes until the pain killers kicked in and he wandered back over with a deep breath and quick glance at Luther as he positioned the knife where he needed it. "You ready?"

Luther watched Anya leave with a soft sight before nodding submissively and grabbing a chair before pulling it up to the boy, he placed his hands on his shoulders again to keep him steadied before looking at where the doctor had the knife hovering over him. "I suppose so," he grumbled before dipping his head so that he was staring at the floor. He'd been to war and fought countless battles by now, and he still wasn't the biggest fan of blood. It was a little embarrassing, really. For Anya it seemed understandable, but for Luther it just seemed cowardly. "How long is this meant to take?" He asked after a little bit of a sigh.

The doctor huffed out a breath at Luther's comment. "It'll take as long as it needs to," he told the boy. A simple yes would have been sufficient, in his opinion. "Just don't look if you don't want to see it," he snorted, rather amused by the boy's queasiness, though he decided not to laugh out loud, that might be rather mean. He looked up at the boy again before looking back at Sage to focus on the area he was working with to make the first cut and poke around for a bit. "Just don't lose focus." Sage twitched slightly at the incision, though while it seemed to be a bit uncomfortable for the boy, he didn't seem to be in much pain. Just as he thought, there was an infected area, though it would be rather simple to drain, so he got right to work, cutting open the area. There was plenty of stuff that came out of the cut, a kind of crack sounding as it splattered everywhere. Hopefully, Luther wouldn't get grossed out and run off, he thought with amusement. Sage threw himself around when he opened the area up, breath hitching. He'd expected that reaction, and Luther held him still, so once he steadied the boy slightly, he was able to quickly clean up the area and close the boy up before wiping his hands off and patting Luther on the shoulder. "Good man," he told the boy before grabbing a towel to try and wipe the table and Sage off.

Luther found himself a little sickly as... stuff came out of Sage. He really felt like gagging, and he could tell the doctor found it amusing. The fact his head hurt probably didn't help that fact either, but he could push through it. He did jump a little when Sage gerked, though once he got him settled everything seemed to go fairly quickly. Once Sage was all stiched up again, he sighed in relief before flopping his head back with a groan. "Thank god," he rasped with a small chuckle. He looked at Sage for a couple of moments before looked back to the doctor. "I take it that's sorted? How on earth did that get so... icky," he asked with a huff. He'd go and get Anya later on... she seemed like she didn't care too much about it all, but even Luther had felt sorry for the boy. Maybe she was nervous about showing that in front of him, but he still wanted her to be around Sage while he was there. He was ill, and well, Anya had loved him at some point. It just seemed cold for her to go from that to barely looking at him.

The doctor chuckled at Luther's reaction and nodded. "Now we just have to build his strength up as much as possible," he told the boy. Then he shrugged, his gaze still focused on cleaning off things. "Best as I can figure he somehow hurt himself, and it went untreated and only got worse the more he went about his day," he hummed thoughtfully. "He's not exactly one to sit and let himself rest, even if he could afford to do it," he grumbled, though somewhat affectionately. He'd finished wiping the table off by then, and moved on to the knife and other tools he'd used. "You can run along now, but be back in a few hours," he told the boy. "If Anya asks, the boy will probably be fine," he added on.

Luther gave a bit of a nod. "He'll be fine. He's like a cat... though, I'm pretty sure he's lost most of his lives," he groaned in complaint. In the time he'd seen Sage in the castle, he'd almost died at least three times, and god knows how many times before and after that. "I'll let her know. Not sure she'll be too fussed, though," he shrugged. "Send someone when you need me again. I'll probably be sat in a lounge somewhere with Att," he hummed before taking his leave. Anya would probably be working with her mother now... and also trying to explain that the boy the queen hated ever so much was back.

The doctor grunted and nodded, not doing much else. The boy could leave now, he himself was busy. He could find the boy later, though he knew Luther wasn't enjoying all this. But the boy was definitely helpful, considering sage was apparently fussy about getting helped even unconscious and half dead. The thought was amusing and he chuckled softly to himself before sighing and looking back at the boy. He did hope he got better... As much as he hated to admit it, the boy had grown on him a bit.

Anya was doing her normal duties... it was almost annoying. The kings were the figure that everyone looked to, and yet it seemed as though the queen and everyone around her did all the work. When she thought about it, her father had never actually done anything in his years of ruling. Not even an announcement other than when she was born. She hoped things wouldn't be like that with her and Luther... she wanted them to work as a team, not with it all riding on one person. They'd have more than enough to deal with without fighting with one another. After a couple of hours of working herself tired, she found herself sitting in a small parlour with a drink, staring at the ledge over the fire, where the small structure of the tavern had been placed years back. She'd thought it'd been placed in the cupboard in her room somewhere, but obviously not. It was strange, the way she felt about Sage now. Whenever she saw him, there was just... nothing, but when she thought about all of their memories, there was so much. Maybe it was just because she could sculpt memories the way she wanted them. Sculpt Sage the way she wanted him... happy, and healthy. She just couldn't see that in him anymore, and maybe that upset her a bit more than she'd like to admit.

The doctor went around doing his work, the same as always. It was a bit boring, a bit slow, but a show ward meant a healthy castle, he and that was a very good thing. Round didn't take long, but that have him some time to get some fluids into sage... It took a while but luckily, he had the time to fight with the boy. Byv the end of the afternoon, he didn't look quite so much like a corpse. He was still out cold, and hadn't moved, but there was a bit of color back in his face, and his breathing was a bit more.... Steady. So was his heart. Eventually, he sent his apprentice for Luther, so he could feed the boy quicker and get to other patients again. Though, of course, if sage kept getting better, hopefully he'd wake up soon and he could leave Luther alone... He knew the boy was a bit busy.
