(Aw, yeah! That'd be cute considering they didn't get along overly well at first aha)

Luther sat patiently in the ward for a little while, finding a spot in the corner to go and sit before closing his eyes as he tried to get a bit of rest. He'd been woken up whenever Anya got up to see to Att, though, he just didn't have the energy to see to the boy himself, so pretending to be asleep seemed like his best option. Even so, he couldn't help but smile at the thought of the other two. He really felt like they were becoming a proper family... granted, Att wasn't really theirs, and he knew Anya didn't love him, despite all the affection they'd started to show one and other (which, when he thought about it, was probably more for Att than anything) but there didn't need to be romance to love your family... and he knew the girl felt the same in that aspect. After about a quarter of an hour of sitting there, he heard the familiar giggles of Att coming down the hall, along with the slightly more refined chuckle of Anya's. He smiled slightly at the sound before realising they were getting closer, and that soon, the exitable little boy would come bursting through the door at any given moment. He gave a bit of a groan at the though, and covered his eyes in preparation, but when he heard the door open and close, it was just... quiet. He then heard Anya hushing the boy with a small chuckle. "Shh, let's see how quiet you can be, hmm?" She whispered as the boy saw the two appearing around the corner. Atticus grinned when he saw Luther and clapped his hands softly before running up to the boy and jumping up on his lap. Luther smiled to the child before looking up at Anya, who had a small tray of breakfast foods. "You missed breakfast," she noted lightly before giving the boy a smile. "And Att demand that we brought you some food, so... here, I suppose," she chuckled before placing the plate on his lap. Att had already started stealing things of the boys tray, but Luther just seemed more amused than anything. "How's Sage doing?" She asked before glancing over to the boy... he didn't look much better, so she wasn't sure why she was even asking to be honest. Luther shook his head and wrinkled his nose slightly. "I'll tell you after I eat," he noted with a slightly amused huff, not really wanting to reiterate the events of the morning just yet.

Sage heard the new voice's come into the room, but he didn't really understand what they were saying. It still sounded like he was underwater...their voices kind of floated around, made his head hurt, and then floated away as more words took their place. He stirred slightly, though only barely, and you could really only see it if you were watching closely. The doctor saw Anya and Att come in and chuckled to himself as Anya duped the younger boy into being quiet. It was a good thing, though...a loud child was the last thing sick or hurt people needed, and while everyone loved Att's demeanor, he couldn't have him squealing and running around. He grinned to himself when Luther mentioned not telling Anya what had happened while he was eating. He found it rather amusing...Luther was a knight and prince, and would be king....he'd fought battles and had seen a lot. But some tubes freaked him out. Whatever, he wasn't one to judge. He didn't exactly like half-strangling Sage either, but it was what needed to be done. He liked watching the boy wither away and slowly starve much less. He sort of tuned the two teens and the younger boy out to write down some more notes and try to make a feeding schedule for Sage that worked around his rounds. There weren't many other patients, and none of them were in any sort of danger like the boy was, so he could pay more attention to Sage. Of course, he couldn't completely ignore the other patients, either, but he had his apprentice to do some of that work if need be, too.

Anya raised a slightly brow when the boy insisted on telling her what'd happened after he'd ate. Really? Could it be that bad? She didn't have a clue. She shouldn't really care, to be honest, but the teenager in her just wanted to sit with him and and watch the world go by, while the adult in her wanted to get out of the ward and back to whatever jobs she had to do. Her duties had become much more in the last four or so years... the queen was getting on in age, and as was the king, so everyone was antsy to make sure she and Luther were actually prepared enough to rule over the kingdom, and eventually Luther's kingdom too once his parents passed. Luther bounced the boy up and down on his knee as he ate, trying to stop the child from stealing his food... though it wasn't working very well. He went to reach for a boiled egg, though he had his hand batted away from the place and Luther stuck a playful tongue out at the boy. "I want that!" He squeaked to the child. Really, he just wanted as much food as he could get in him for the time being. It'd probably make him sick later on, but he didn't want to turn away good food. Att made a bit of a face at Luther before climbing off his knee and going to sit with on Anya's lap before flopping towards and resting his head on her chest, a slight glare on his little face as he watched Luther eat the egg. "Someone's jealous," Anya mused lightly as she wrapped her arms around the child's back and grinning up at Luther. "I'd give him that egg if I were you," she giggled before resting her head back and closing her eyes for a little bit. She was curious as to what'd happened in the ward that had to wait for Luther to eat, but she supposed she could be patient enough to find out.

The doctor sat and just thought for a while...it was a question to figure out, how to open the boy up and do the surgery he needed to do without putting the boy under enough so that he didn't wake up. He couldn't exactly perform surgery without putting the boy under...if he could still feel the tube he would definitely feel that, but it was too much of a risk to put the boy under right now, and it wasn't likely to change in the near future. He wondered if he injected the immediate area with a painkiller, he could do it that way, without putting the boy under. Those were rather hard to come by, but the boy needed to be opened up...he had a suspicion of what was wrong, and if he was correct then it needed to happen as soon as possible. He sighed in frustration after a moment, and went to rummage around in their stocks to see what they had. Admittedly, the rebellion had stopped a lot of medical things from getting to the castle, and while it wasn't enough for anyone but the doctors to really notice, it was affecting them. He didn't want to know what would happen if there was another attack; they barely had enough things now, and there were only a few people in the ward, Sage being the only one in any real danger. He could only find one needle with the painkiller in it and stared at the small needle in his palm for a good, long while. Would it be enough? Would it even help, or would he be hurting the boy again, this time probably much worse? He knew the other two teens knew the boy better...they weren't doctors, but they both had a good head on their shoulders, so maybe they could give him some information that would make his decision on wether he wanted to try this or not. He had less potent pain killers, and more of them, but he didn't know if they would work. Eventually, he sighed and grabbed the edge of the cabinet to haul himself up to go talk with the teens. He'd have to phrase things in a way Att wouldn't question or wouldn't understand, though. He didn't need the boy scared of the doctor's ward...it was supposed to be a helpful place.

The two spoke happily for a short while before noticing the doctor wander out his little office area. It seemed as though he had something in his hand, though, other than getting concerned and having Att feed off on that, Luther gave the man a big smile and handed Att a bit of fruit. He started munching away happily, though, he'd handed Anya a couple of paper towels to help wipe his face off, considering he seemed to be dribbling pretty much everywhere. "What's up," Anya asked before glancing up with a smile. Luther cocked his head slightly before giving the same curious look at Att had on his face. Really, most of the time you'd find it hard to tell that they weren't related.

The old man grunted in response to Anya's question and pulled a chair over, sitting down slowly with a grunt before looking at the teens again. "There are some things we doctors need the family's permission to do," he slowly started. "You two are the closest Sage has to family, so those questions are going to you," he explained, looking between the two teens. "Now, Luther, if I give you something for the headache, will you actually put thought into this?" He normally wouldn't help hangovers...if they chose to get drunk they'd have to deal with the consequences. But, he needed the boy to say what he would say normally, not just give a quick answer off the top of his head. "It's rather serious topics, so I need you to actually give me advice, now," he told the two of them, sitting back on his chair with a weary sigh and glancing over at Sage quickly before looking back at Anya and Luther.

Anya still looked a little confused, but gave a soft nod anyway and looked towards Luther. The doctor was normally quite good at calling the shots... he'd never asked if he could do something before, and she was honestly a little nervous as to why this was different. Luther gave a slight nod to the doctor before taking whatever he'd given him for his head. "How serious is serious?" The boy asked as he placed a hand on his forehead. Though, by the time he'd asked, Anya had already shooed Att off to go find Charlotte and some of the younger family members to play with. She didn't really know what the doctor was going to ask, but the child didn't need to be scared of the doctor, especially because he still had some issues from his earlier years and still frequented the ward.

The doctor grunted and looked at the two teens for a moment before signing. "Well, to put it quite frankly, the boy needs surgery. The issue is, I can't put him under our he most certainly won't wake back up." He pulled the needles out of his pocket to show the teens. "We do have some options. I could operate as is, though if he fought the feeding tube he'll fight this, and it'll hurt. Or, we could shoot a painkiller into the immediate area and chances on the fact that he won't hurt as much that way. I have two different kinds here... One is much stronger than the other, but I only have one needle in stock. The other is weaker but I have more of it." He sat back and rubbed his forehead slightly. "I can't guarantee any of it will work though," he admitted.

Anya hummed softly before cocking her head to the side. She did wonder what exactly was wrong with him... she knew he was malnourished, but the doctor had managed to deal with that before. "Well... I'd say use the one you have more of. That way you can keep on top of it," she shrugged slightly. Luther gave a slight nod of agreement. That was definitely the better option... he might still be in a bit of pain, but it meant the doctor could keep on giving him the painkiller. He could also give him the one he had less of, then stay on top of it with the other one. "Why does he need surgery? Is there something else wrong?" Anya asked with a bit of a frown. She wasn't sure how much the boy could really handle in this condition... though she trusted the doctors word if he thought it was a good idea.

The doctor frowned and nodded. "Luther, I may need you later, to hold him in case. He'll probably feel something, but I'm hoping the painkillers work at least a little bit," he hummed. Then he looked over at Anya and grunted. "I'm afraid there's an infection, deep in the boy's abdomen somewhere," he sighed. "If it spreads it could eventually kill the boy," he huffed.
