Iris bit her lip nervously but stayed quiet. She did trust him, after all. She stayed silent as Caden talked with the hostess and waitress, looking around at the place in awe. It was crowded, yes, but cozy, warm, tidy, and incredibly fancy. Her family could never had afforded this, and she was pretty sure even one dish would drain her accounts. She still wasn't sure how or why Caden had gotten past the line for free, but didn't question it. She just followed him into the elevator and into the lobby. She nodded her thanks as he held the door open for her, and she stepped onto the roof. Caden had been right about the view. The time of day was so perfect that the setting sun blessed the tiled roof of the building with oranges and yellows, whereas the sky above them was darkening to purple and blue. Iris's breath left as she looked out over the outline of the city, stark against the bright setting sun. She had no words, just walked over to the low wall on the edge of the building and looked out over the edge.

"Well... do you like it?" Caden asked nervously, fidgeting with his hands as he awaited her opinion. The dying embers of the sun reflected off the tiles faintly, casting Caden's reflection in a variety of lightings. He went and sat down, motioning for her to do so as well.

Iris turned to look at him, smiling widely. "Do I like it? I love it. It's beautiful!" She tilted her head to the sky and closed her eyes, breathing in the air that seemed cleaner than down there in the city. She visibly relaxed and eventually sat down next to Caden, not minding the hard ground. She'd forgotten about his cutting in line when she was sucked up in the wonder of the rooftop, but now it came back to her. "How did you get past the line back there?" She asked, tilting her head to look at him curiously.

Caden watched her, smiling softly as she slipped her eyes shut her eyes and looked out. He took in her features at the time, the way she smiled, how genuine her happiness looked and how at peace she seemed. He felt a hint of nervousness when she sat down beside him, casting his gaze away as he fidgeted with his hands. When Iris asked how they asked the question, he flicked his gaze to her. "Hm what? Oh the line... uhm, so--" He paused, feeling a flush creep up his neck and run a hand over his face to rub it away. "People treat you different when they work for you." Caden explained, immediately deciding that wasn't enough. "I own it, that's why I was talking to all the waiters and such." He informed, immediately regretting saying it and looking away---though he couldn't, as her gaze had engulfed him.

Iris's smile faltered at his nervousness. Had she done something wrong? She shouldn't have asked about the line! 'Dang it, Iris! Always saying the wrong thing!' But he answered her. And what an answer it was. Though, she shouldn'y have been surprised. The book, his cars... It made sense that he owned restaurants too. She just hadn't thought about it. Her smile came back, though a little smaller than before. "Thanks for telling me. It's really beautiful." She laid her hand on his, then realized what she'd done. Immediately her face grew warm and she pulled back, eyes moving down to the impeccably clean tiled roof.

Caden felt a faint weight cover his hand, his gaze flicking down towards it. He noted how she immediately drew back, thoughts flowing through his head. -Dang it, don't know what I did but figure it out Caden!- The man reached out and clasped his hand around her drawnback one, not even realizing he did it. He squeezed Iris's hand softly, smiling lightly at her as the atmosphere became comforting. A faint breeze blew and chilled him, even beneath the sweatshirt. He had made sure to wear a t-shirt under, just in case Iris got cold again and he offered it.

(lol they need to stop freaking out. Glad you stopped it XD) . 'Great now he thinks you're crazy and he hates you and he'll never talk to you again--' Iris was thinking that and more when Caden's warm hand grasped hers. She lifted her eyes to his and all tension and anxiety left. Who cares what she did? Caden was still here and clearly he still liked her. Why was she worried? She smiled back and looked out at the dark red sky, just enjoying the moment. A few minutes later, her stomach gave a small growl and Iris remembered dinner. "So, back to why we came here in the first place..." She said, letting the rest of the sentence be assumed.

"Oh, right yeah. Dinner. Sorry just, got lost in you and kinda lost track of time." He said nonchalantly, casting his gaze back out at the city. Caden grabbed his phone, opening a photo of the menu and handing it over to her. "Here, that's the menu." The man explained, not letting go of her hand.

Iris blushed at his comment and took the phone in her free hand. She thanked him and scanned it quickly, then handed it back to Caden, muttering, "You can order first." The truth was, she'd never had anything that fancy or expensive and didn't want to risk a bad choice. She also wanted to see what he would get. Plus, she wasn't sure if she'd be paying or not, and if Caden was going to pay for her she didn't want to choose the most expensive thing on there.

(lmao its so funny because my playlist is playing 'dance around it' where its where two people are in a situationship and im like 'literally 6 posts ago or something lol) Caden nodded, simply calling them and ordering a serving of grilled salmon over rice with steamed vegetables, along with a bottle of champagne. Simply because he wasn't feeling anything heavily alchoholic. He handed it over to Iris, waiting for her to order before giving the rest of the information of where they were. The man checked to make sure he had his wallet, confirming it was there.
