"That pretty much defines life right now," She says quietly, Varys stretching out and curling into Sage slightly.Elara smiled at the sight, scratching the wolf's head. "I'm pretty sure you're his new favorite," The princess said, smilgin.g

Sage nodded along, their words rather amusing. Their situation didn't come about very often, he supposed. Though, he looked down at the wolf with a smile when he flopped against him. "I can deal with that," he noted lightly

Elara smiled, her hand still on the wolf's neck. This was the closest she'd been to Sage without hating him, without, despising him.She smiled slightly more at the thought, thinking. Perhaps he could make a good friend. Or more.

Sage just settled down happily as they say there, chatting about whatever came to mind. He'd started to open up with her a bit, he supposed....he trusted her not to attack or do anything along those lines. She'd care for him and Liz as much as he'd care for her. They were close, exactly....but they were companions. Partners in whatever adventure they'd find themselves in. They'd grow together, he had no doubt about that.

She have to grow on him and Liz anyways, now that she'd be stuck with them for a while.Elara trusted him no doubt, for if she didn't she would've left a long time ago. "You fine with taking first watch?" The princess asked, already turning to post up against a tree.

Sage glanced over at the princess and nodded, offering her a small smile. "Get some rest," he noted lightly, waving her off. They'd had a long day, and the next few days wouldn't be any easier, so they'd need all the rest they could get. There wasn't much to worry about since they were safely in a cage ...but still. Keeping watch was a good idea.

"Alright," She muttered, propping up against a tree before drifting off quickly into a light sleep, bow loaded and in her hands.

|
Sage watched her body relax, and he let out a quiet sigh after a while, just glancing around him. It was scary to hope for anything....that's how you got disappointed. And he always had gotten disappointed. Or hurt....very hurt. He couldn't do that again. It was foolish..but he couldn't help but hope this time maybe something would work out.

Elara awoke with a jolt, hand firing for her neck, relaxing when she felt it was fine. "Just a stupid dream, just a stupid dream..." She mumbled, tipping her head back once more.

|
Sage glanced over at her when she jolted awake, recognizing the nightmare reaction. "Wanna talk about it,* he asked quietly. Asking if she was alright wasn't what she'd want to hear, he knew. But if she wanted to talk, he was there.
