Indeedio)) It had been a few weeks or so since the little playground interaction, and Tempe was happily settled in their motel room, her hair freshly blow-dried since she had just gotten out of the shower. She was in what were essentially pajamas, running a brush through her layered blonde waves. Edited at December 11, 2023 08:31 PM by Widow Valley Farms

Nate was laying on his back reading a book about monsters. As one does. Its no wonder he struggles to sleep. He looked up at the bathroom, shutting the book. "Tempe," he called, sitting up. "Can we go ooout? Like to- yknow. A bar?" He asked in an innocent way.

Tempe paused when he called her name, poking her head out of the bathroom to look at him. "Yeah?" She said lightly, tilting her head slightly and watching him. She blinked at the question and gave him an exasperated stare. "Seriously? You've been doing so well, Nate. We can't go to a bar." She huffed, running the brush through her hair a few more times before she set it down on the bathroom counter. She walked out after and flopped on her bed. "Why the sudden urge to go to a bar, anyway?"

Nate narrowed his eyed at her disappointed stare, he put the book down at his side. "I don't want to drink, you can get me like a shirley temple or lemonade." He said enthusiastically, hoping it would sweeten the pot. He stood up and wandered, pacing the room. He was just a biiit bored. "Cuz bars are fun. Obviously." He said, in a very good concealing tone.

"Oh, right. You want to go to a bar so you can order something non-alcoholic. Believable." Tempe said sarcastically, boredly running her fingers through her hair. "This sounds like a scam. If you want fun, we can have fun here." She huffed, but she seemed to soften just a little at his enthusiasm over not having alcohol.

He glared at her. "I said we, you can babysit me if you waaant." He looked out the window slightly. It was still a little light outside and he wasn't tired for shit. "Bars have people and people are entertaining. You wouldn't know with your angelic innocence." He wasn't entirely lying, he was just ignoring to mention the fact that ..he intended to be part of the entertainment. "Pleeease?"

Why did that make me imagine him dancing drunkenly on a bar cohnter)) Tempe watched him with narrowed eyes, listening to him and then staying quite for a few moments after. "Fine. We can go. But no alcohol. If you think the temptation is too much, you have to tell me, alright?" She asked, a slight undertone of concern.

If only that was going to be prt of the chaos HEHAHA)) Nate pursed his lips. Considering her words carefully. He stroked his beard. "If you let me have like a shot or a biiig sip of anything alcoholic," he sighed heavily. "I'll let you drive on the way back." He let his head hang slightly, hoping he wouldn't regret offering that.

Tempe glared at him for the attempt at a bribe, frowning. She hadn't driven in a long time, and sometimes she missed it. "...you can have a singular shot of whiskey. Deal?" She huffed, standing and holding her hand out to him.

He smiled. "I have the keys. How about I get a shot or a big sip of whaaaatever I want, and you can drive both ways?" He was negotiating, shaking the keys in his hand. Waiting for her to agree before he shook her hand. He figured she would want to drive sometime soon.
