"...Yes. Thats what people do when they have pets, dear." She said slowly, mocking him. "Uhm, because I wanted a friend? And it helps when he has a name to respond to." She snapped. "Well, theyre just like humans then, aren't they? And we used to be humans. So..." Binx trotted after him the whole way, mewing pitifully. She rolled her eyes. "Dear lord, you are such a coward, Ajax. Cmere, Binx." She ended sweetly. He stopped and flicked his tail in frustration as Ajax tried to keep running away, but turned and bounced into her arms at the promise of Mercy's cuddles. She smiled and held Binx gently, standing and walking over to Ajax. "I swear, he's sweet. Just give him a pat." She offered.

"Cats aren't pets.." Ajax mumbled, looking warily at the little animal. "Dogs can be friends! I prefer dogs. If this answers your question from before, I did have a pet, and it was a great dog named Rex. Awesome guard dog." He commented, ignoring the stabbing pain through his body. "They are like humans, that is what is terrifying." He sighed, flinching slightly when Mercy called him a coward. Ajax looked slightly pitiful at this point, but for one he just didn't like cats and for two they had attempted to kill him before (another cause of a couple scars from age 3) and for THREE he found out rather quickly he was allergic to them and that didn't help the matter AT ALL. "I-" Ajax stopped with an exasperated huff. "I can't touch him or I will not be able to breath, sorry." He finally finished. "You can keep your cat, im sure he's great, but I haven't had the best experiences with them." Ajax muttered and walked back into the other room, folding up some of the clothing Mercy had lovingly chucked at him.

"Yes they are! Cats are just as good as dogs, what are you talking about?" She scoffed. She listened to him and gently let Binx down, glaring at Ajax. "It would've been helpful if you TOLD ME YOU WERE ALLERGIC TO CATS!" She huffed, quickly brushing the cat hair off her. She followed him, gently shooing Binx away as he tried to access Ajax again. She walked up to him and stubbornly pulled the clothing out of his hands, folding it with a sigh.

Ajax winced as Mercy's voice rose to a very high pitch, shaking his head slightly and dropping his gaze. "It's only bad if I touch them, don't get all upset." He retorted, though it was a rather meager and weak retort... Ajax couldn't help but sigh slightly after ward and walk back to the window, since he couldn't fold clothing anymore. Obviously. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I just didn't think it was completely necessary. The allergy is not that bad, it would only be bad if I had to cuddle with... Binx." Ajax made an attempt at remembering the cats name, hopeful that would lower Mercy's temper slightly.

She huffed, watching him, listening intently. She calmed down the more he spoke, making her way to his side. "Well. At least you remember his name." Mercy teased, watching his face in silence. She laid her head in her hands, rubbing her face with a tired sigh. "Im... sorry. Im really not good at this whole hospitality thing."

Ajax glanced at her. "I do listen to most things you say." He snorted, gazing out the window again. He wished, yet again, he was in the trees. Maybe observing a herd of deer. Watching two fawns play. Seeing a mother bear lumber through the brush with two roly poly bear cubs tumbling behind her. He looked at her again when she sighed, a slight look of concern crossing his face. "Aaaand why are you sorry? I'm alive, aren't I? I'm getting better, aren't I? My brain is kind of working, isn't it? All four of my limbs are working, aren't they? That's a step up." Ajax said quietly

Mercy shook her head, keeping her heas in her hands. "Because I'm... so bad at this. I can barely keep you alive, and I can tell you're essentially miserable out here. I almost killed you with my cat. Sure, I did the bare minimum to make sure you wouldn't die because of something I caused, but what does that matter?" She sighed, lifting her head out of her hands and staring determinedly out the window.

Ajax rolled his eyes slightly as he listened to Mercy, looking to an *invisible* person next to him and pointing a thumb at Mercy all the while making faces. When she was done he made himself look normal again, turning to her. "Hey you, miserable looking Angel." He snorted, tapping her on the head. "You are NOT bad at this, take it from the person you SAVED. I'm VERY much alive, I'm not MISERABLE because I'm with you, your cat did NOT almost KILL ME, and you did not cause ANYTHING. I think you need to get your facts straight." He commented, placing a hand on her shoulder and looking *cough cough* down at her. "Don't beat yourself up. You did the best you could with what you had, and that's lull anyone could have hoped for."

She huffed and looked *up* ( -Sniffle-) at him as he tapped her on the head. Mercy watched him quietly as he spoke, looking pitiful. She frowned and leaned into his hand slightly. "I don't like it when you try to cheer me up. It makes me happy. I'm trying to be sulky and sad, remember?" She huffed. "...But what I also got from that... is that you like spending time with me. I'll make a note of that next time you try to deny it." She teased, giving him a small smile.

Ajax furrowed his brows slightly, almost looking confused, "you do know that when someone tries to cheer you up... you should be happy... right? That's a good thing." He assured her with a small smile, shaking his head slightly, "Don't be sad and sulky. That is absolutely no fun for me." He complained, then made a face at Mercy's last sentence. "Er.. uh.... at least I cheered you up." Ajax grumbled, but it was true. He did like spending time with Mercy... though when she was sulky and sad it wasn't nearly as much fun.
