She was slumped over and seemingly completely unaware of her surroundings, until Imogen barged in with a loud greeting that snapped her awake. Neveah`s head lifted swiftly as she turned, piercing blue eyes meeting gentle brown ones; Imogen apologized promptly and curtly before explaining that it was time for the hunters to head out. With a small nod of acknowledgment, she rose to her feet and headed towards her wardrobe, changing into a simple sweater and complimentary pants once Imogen had left her alone. Once she was finished, she headed downstairs with a concealed weapon in her pocket, sauntering past the trio and straight outside. Tonight was one of the nights they had prescheduled to go out together, knowing which days the coven was more active than usual at night. She was silent as she led the way down the streets, occasionally eavesdropping on the conversations between the hunters trailing behind her. ``Do you think we`ll see any tonight?`` Imogen asked to no one in particular as she remained glued to Renier`s side, the male having an arm wrapped firmly around her shoulder; he would make sure she did not run off and flee at the smallest indication of danger. Neveah did not answer and continued to walk since she knew one of the males would. ``It depends if we`re at the right place at the right time,`` Damian explained as he shifted, the smallest sound of metal moving indicating the presence of his own weapon somewhere on his body. Renier nodded in agreement while Imogen gulped nervously, her gaze flitting to and fro as if a vampire would leap out and sink its teeth into her neck at any moment. Truth be told, Neveah would quite literally let it happen just so she would not have to deal with the childish, skittish hunter that was clearly not built for this type of work. It had been a recent guideline that had been reinforced regarding different roles in the world of vampire hunters; there were the actual hunters, the scouts and trackers, then finally the individuals that considered them scientists. The scientists were the scariest, in her opinion, since they strived on imprisoning vampires and figuring out what dealt the most damage to their bodies, whether it be a weapon, poison, or even an emotion. Neveah and her crew were all normal hunters with no assistance from trackers/scouts and scientists. Did she prefer it this way? Absolutely. ``Keep an eye out,`` Neveah reminded them the moment they seemed to start goofing off, increasing her annoyance and the need for solitude. She only trusted herself when it came to these jobs, so it was no surprise that she viewed the others as nuisances and liabilities; she would never go out of her way to save them.. probably. Depending on the amount of vampires, it could be fairly easy to spot them; patrols were always obvious to her and to her fellow hunters. It was always odd to see more than six people wandering the city together, after all.

Aurelius found himself stood in the armoury once more. He shoved knives in his boots, nothing special so they couldn't trace any weapons. They being supernatural beings and humans alike. A good weapon for killing most creatures aswell. Aurelius looped his arm through the strap to a sawn-off shotgun. It was great for close range but fairly impractical. Great for what they needed to do tonight. There had already been reports of a werewolf gang causing trouble in the city. He watched his crew around him, as they silently got ready. A unit that moved as one. Cohesively, they moved through the hallway and reached the foyer of the main entrance. The manor had once again released its grip on them, the shutters peeling away to the outside world, the dark of night. Mercifully, his mother and father wasn't there to see them leave. The unit moved through the double doors out into the city. The rain had stopped, the clouds revealing a beautiful and clear night. The moon bright, but it only meant one thing. Trouble. Werewolves and trouble. He let Seb do what he does best, command his unit. It was rare also that he too led units but two of the vampires that ran nightly patrols didn't make it home last night. Alas, Auri assumed it was because he was here. They moved through the city towards the commotion that had been reported. The six of them turned down an alley way. Auri in the middle, almost like he was being escorted. He instinctively grabbed his shotgun, keeping the barrel down and his trigger finger to the side. There were two men hollering at another two to be let into a club. Seb eyed them and moved closer. "What exactly seems to be the problem?" He moved with a casual like grace, floating over the ground. His dark eyes black in the shadows that concealed them. "You summoned the Obsidian Circle?!" The man exclaimed to the other. "No, we didn't" He growled, guttural as if a wolf was snarling behind it. "What are you doing here?" One of them said. "Keeping the peace" Seb said with a flat tone, he paused "Your commotion hasn't exactly been quiet" He bit out. "Aright, aright, we are, but they haven't paid us for last weeks shipment" The man said, throwing his hands up in surrender, backing away from the two men by the club side entrance. "I'm sure there is some misunderstanding?" Seb said calmly. He was very good at de-esculating situations like these. The club men eyed him. "You'll have to speak to Jaden" He said. "Where might I find him?" Seb asked. "Right this way" One of the men stepped into the club, the other raised his arm to invite them in. Seb nodded and looked at Auri and his men, he signalled for them to keep close as unit. The other men followed the first man into the club. One by one they disappeared through the door, the final man bringing up the rear closing the door into the alleyway. The club was dim, with flashing lights. Auri got flashbacks from the night before and couldn't help but grin, he passed booths with creatures, some dancing erotically, others doing what appeared to be drugs, they were concealed by the lights and glitter curtains. "These wolves deal in drugs?" I asked Seb who was now in front of me. "Yes, there are many like it over the city, the werewolves are great at trafficking because they know how to decieve dogs, because" He shrugs "They act like dogs" He smirked before they were lead up a staircase, a main balcony appearing over the club floor. They turned abruptly into some plain dark double doors, leading the way through. A man, presuming named Jaden sat at a wide golden desk. Auri rolled his eyes at the sight of him. He wore a navy suit, no tie, acting like there was an air of importance around him. "Seb!" Jaden said with greeting, he took note of his men, his gaze pausing at Aurelius a moment longer, before continuing to swing his head to his men and to the two strangers standing before him. "Jaden, it's good to see you again" He said a authoritive calm. Auri watched the commotion, his grip relaxed on the gun as they stood in the wide overly decorated room. I never took werewolves to be so flamboyant. The rich cream carpets cushioning the shifting weight underneath him. "I think there has been a misunderstanding...regarding payment for shipments" Seb swung his hand out to the strangers who stood before Jaden. Jaden relaxed his posture into the cream leather chair that accompained his gold desk. "I see" He flicks his gaze to them, narrowing them. "I had told them that it would be taken..." Jaden was interrupted by one of the men "It has been two weeks" He seethed. "Our boss doesn't take kindly to not being paid". Auri stared at Jaden, whilst he had a cool exterior about him, something said to Auri that Jaden wasn't a person to be messed with. However Jaden stood and turned to behind his chair, a picture moved as he keyed in a number to a concealed safe. "Here" After opening it and retrieving the contents. Wads of cash slammed down on the table in front of the men. Seb looked a the strangers as they moved slowly to take it. The snatched it from his desk and left promptly without saying a word. "A thank you would have been nice" Seb huffed, a smirk playing on his lips as he turned back from the strangers departure and laid his eyes on Jaden. Jaden narrowed his eyes at Seb, as he closed the safe and returned to be seated in his chair. "Rough time?" Seb said, as his men shifted impatiently. "My business... It's not doing so well" He grunted "But that's not of your concern is it?" His demeanour darkened. Seb signalled for the men to prepare to leave. "Just trying to keep the peace" Seb smiled weakly at Jaden as the men made their exit. "You'd better be careful Seb!" He shouted at him as they left.

It was fairly easy for her to pinpoint vampires that were out and about, their somewhat unique appearances being apparent giveaways; they always looked composed with a silent air of death around them, something she would never admit aloud that she admired. She continued to walk silently, occasionally eavesdropping on the childish banter that Imogen was innocently engaging in; if she had the guts to deal with an incredibly pissed off and defensive Renier, she would have gladly told her to shut up. Unlike the usual times she went out on these ventures with the others, she had not taken the time to tie her lengthy hair, something she should have done in case they did stumble upon vampires; the monsters occasionally resorted to anything when it came to advantages, so a rough hair pull would definitely occur if they deemed it necessary. The thought made her smile briefly before it vanished, freezing completely in her steps when she heard a rather unusual commotion. Her gaze immediately pinpointed on the group that was entering a building, a small smile forming on her face as she decided then and there they would wait outside for them. ``I believe we may have hit the jackpot,`` Neveah mumbled beneath her breath once Imogen, Damian, and Renier had reached her side, looking over at where she was staring with a deadly glare. They nodded silently and they all slid into a nearby alleyway that had a somewhat clear view of the building. Neveah was the one near the front, her gaze never wavering for a second from the entrance the group had used to enter the building. If there were to be a fight, she was already aware of the potential outcomes: all of them would die, as simple as that. Besides, they were also outnumbered and that in of itself was a good enough reason for her to have ignored the commotion. Nothing could really deter her from wanting to wait them out, however, especially since she craved combat whenever it seemed just out of reach. Imogen definitely did not feel the same way, trembling slightly out of fear beside Renier, who was also getting a little annoyed by her behavior. On the contrary, Damian was a silent wall of muscle that waited beside Neveah quietly. ``Is this a good idea, Nev?`` Imogen`s weak, sheepish voice resonated from her left, earning her an annoyed glare from all three of the other hunters. She glanced between them all and lowered her gaze, fumbling her words like a nervous child would. ``You see, there was just a lot of them..`` ``You haven`t lived until you`ve killed multiple at once,`` was Neveah`s blunt, unamused response before she focused at the task at hand again. Her words were another harsh reminder of how dangerous she was. Besides, she had even helped a certain scientist from a different city learn an incredibly immoral tactic that most vampires were unaware that was being implemented behind closed doors: de-fanging. The term was self-explanatory; they had learned how to extract the fangs from vampires, rendering their abilities to suck blood from their victims. It was something she had laughed at the first time she had seen it in action, the desperation that overwhelmed the eyes of a vampire as it practically begged for blood. The scientist had thanked her while also agreeing to ensure no one knew of her involvement. She was already viewed as a dangerous, malicious hunter already.. that would definitely worsen things. Her gaze narrowed when she saw the door knob twist, an indication that the group was potentially leaving.

Seb followed behind Auri, the group making their way back they came, the alleyway providing the perfect cover for the six of them to slip out of the club unnoticed to unsuspecting eyes. The six of them were shown the door. The group gathered outside in the alleyway, the door closing behind them abruptly. "I guess we won't be seeing them again in a hurry" Auri joked. Seb cut him a sharp look "Maybe, so but we have to tread lightly" He said, signalling his men to get into formation and move on to the next job. Auri pushed his gun behind him, so his knees didn't come in contact with the butt of the gun as he walked. The strap digging slightly into his shoulder. He watched as the men formed into neat lines, him slotting perfecting in place in the middle, protected, yet again. He wondered what else he would see tonight. He made a mental note of the controversy between the werewolves but it was unlikely that they would be testing the limits of the coven ruling over this city. They turned to leave, moving slowly through the shadows not to attract attention. (Sorry it's short, its so the action can start here! xD)

A small squeak left Imogen when she saw them, her eyes wide while Renier had to firmly hold her in place; the brat was definitely trying to think of a way to flee the scene already. Neveah sighed as she looked over at the two men, not caring enough to look at Imogen`s pathetic expression and anxiety. ``Let`s have fun, shall we?`` It was rare- incredibly rare- for Neveah to impulsively waltz straight into the eyesight of vampires, yet that was exactly what her plan was. Besides, she knew what they would most likely do the moment they saw her specifically: run. Nowadays, vampires had grown elusive towards her above everyone else, steering clear of her path as if she were the plague itself. With a hum of amusement, she led the way towards the gathered individuals that she presumed to be vampires, glancing back to ensure Damian and Renier were in tow; Imogen was, unsurprisingly, being quite literally dragged along. She was careful, however, to be out of their sight for as long as possible; it would be pointless if they fled immediately. Neveah knew it was best to approach looking as innocent as possible as well, just in case they were humans. The last thing she needed was to draw her weapon in the face of an unsuspecting human that would certainly scream bloody murder. She could not help but recognize one of the men from the night before, scoffing silently in annoyance.

They moved forward a few steps when a group, lead by a woman crossed the street to now stand in front of them, blocking their path. Seb in front, eyes widened at the mortal. They weren't supposed to be discovered, so instantly it led him to think that this wasn't a normal group of people, let alone the squeaking protests of a girl in the grip of a man now coming towards them. The unit spread out to Seb's signal. Auri recognised the woman in front, his eyes betrayed that he recognised her. Her scent filling his nose. He signalled to Seb that this was indeed the notorious vampire hunter that they had been warned about. Seb squared off inching forward before the woman. "Hunter" He nodded at her, uttering the phrase like a curse word. Aurelius felt the tension increase but he couldn't take his eyes off her. She was stunning, a calm, lethal weapon in mortal form. The other men had formed a concave like position to target them, drawing out their guns and holding them steady at the hunters. "I do not think it wise you tackle with us tonight" Seb said with a cool calm demeanour, he waved his hand at his men, pointing weapons at them as they approached. "It would be far too easy" Seb smirked, playing with them. Auri's eyes flicked between Seb and the woman in front. Six against four. Or six against two, with one seemingly restraining a girl. He couldn't help but smirk, he reached down slowly to grab a knife from his boot, twindling it with his thumb and forefinger. He glanced at them all, looking at their pathetic attire and weapons. Auri knew he was in for a treat to see how his coven operated against the likes of a group of hunters of this size. Auri restrained himself from taunting them. He let Seb lead, not giving away his rank to a measely group of hunters. He felt the adrenaline start coursing through his veins. He felt awake. Alive even. He was keen to see why this hunter in front of him had such a reputation. He wanted to see what it takes for her to kill. He could feel the men at his side shift their weight, but he straightened, a certain stoicism crept over him, a smirk rising to his lips. His blonde hair a dead giveway he was different to the rest of the men bearing black hair but he had hoped that the vampire hunters wouldn't pick up on that. Seb kept calm whilst his men had a growing unease to deal with this little problem. Edited at December 6, 2024 11:51 AM by Nimbus Stud

Of course, she should have expected them to put two and two together, especially when she had willingly waited for minutes. Although she had recognized that one man from before, she did not care enough to point him out; her attention was fixated on the one that was talking. Her instincts were telling her that his threats were not entirely empty, that there was a higher chance than usual that this would be an easy victory for the vampires. Imogen`s squealing and protests that were penetrating the silence was a huge indicator of the size in numbers. Usually, a hunter would immediately deescelate the situation and request to simply move on, but not Neveah. Taking on multiple vampires at once was like child`s play to her; a hobby even. ``Easy?`` Neveah repeated with a smile, her gaze drifting towards the other vampires. She knrw she looked nonthreatening and she planned on maintaining the facade for as long as possible. Heck, they had no idea the atrocities she had already commited regarding their kind. She wanted to make them comfortable, to make them think she was stupid enough to show up unarmed; it was why she had not dared reach for the weapon that was concealed within her pocket. ``That stings a little.`` She decided to play into the banter, knowing there was no true harm in speaking with them. It was a different story if she actually managed to piss them off, but that was something she needed to wait towards the end of their exchange for. Any bit of information she could get would be appreciated, so she played along. With a glance towards Imogen, who immediately shut up upon seeing the anger shimmering in the depths of her blue eyes, Neveah spoke again, ``I`m sure you`ve heard about me in one way or another, so that begs the question.. Who might you be?``

Seb huffed a laugh. "I've heard of your atrocities to our kind but why would you care about what we call ourselves?" Annoyance flashed in his gaze at the hunter in front. Hunters were never to be trusted no matter how innocent they looked. His gaze narrowed on her. The shadows still concealing the group. This was only going to end one way, so Seb wanted to have the upper hand, he signalled his group to back up into the alleyway to invite the hunters closer, using the darkness to their advantage. Auri stepped back, two of his men, moved to conceal themselves to bring up the rear to surround the hunters into a trap. Whether they fooled for it he had no idea. Auri stared at the woman. Is she a fool? His head clicked as he tilted it to study her mannerisms. He didn't let go of his knife as he backed into the alleyway. Seb still leading in front, enticing the hunters to their deaths. Once they stopped moving was only then did Seb speak again. "You're a fool if you haven't brought a weapon with you" He smirked eyeing the hunter, he wondered if he would pick up on his bluff on knowing that she may carry a concealed weapon. This unit was trained to a militaristic fashion. So Auri stood back and waited for the scene to play out. (Sorry laptop is dying, so had to make it quick.) Of course, she was still paying close attention to the vampire that was conversing with her; honestly, she figured if they had not been on the verge of all-out combat they would probably be able to banter for hours. At his question, she hummed thoughtfully before replying, ``So I know the name to write down on my kill list.`` She was far from a fool and, although she was not as old as the vampires in front of her, she was combatively intelligent to the point where most humans viewed her as a monster. This was precisely why she noticed the subtle signals and the movement in the shadows; it could mean only one thing: a flank. Instead of panicking and telling the other hunters what was unfolding, she let it happen. Besides, she wanted to watch them as they realized she was more of a threat than they thought. ``A weapon?`` Neveah raised a brow at his words, her smile growing further. She was enjoying this.. a lot. On the contrary, Imogen was still wriggling in Renier`s grip while Damian glared daggers at the vampire in the lead; she found it amusing the way they were acting. ``I don`t need one.`` Her words were a half-truth since it was impossible for her to kill a vampire without one, but she could- and has- managed to tire out a vampire by dodging every single attempt of a direct hit. The others clearly did not understand the point of her words when they withdrew their weapons; she nearly called them idiots when she realized a fight was on the verge of happening.

Seb smiled as the trap that had been laid out for them had clearly worked. The group moved closer, concealed by the shadows, to the point other bystanders wouldn't dare take a closer look. In that split second, the plan took place, the men who had concealed themselves pounced. One holding a gun to Damien's head, the other had decided to pounce on Renier, tackling him to the floor, fangs almost at his neck. Imogen squealed, rushing forward to try to escape, but alas was ensnared by a third man, gripping her close, a knife to her throat. She cried out, the cool blade touching the nape of her neck. One wrong move and she was dead. Seb watched the three hunters behind the leading female become apprehended. He smirked the banter not lasting long before his face fell flat. "I told you, this wouldn't end well" Seb said, not daring to move closer to close the gap between him and the woman. "How about we add these three and their names to our kill list?" He bit out. "I would ask you, what you want or what you aim to achieve but its pretty clear that you apparently wish to die" Seb felt the smile creep back on his face. "Let me grant that request" He said, a snap of his fingers and Imogen screamed, the knife slicing across her throat, the blood spraying everywhere. Seb tutted "Such a waste" He said a taunt to his tone, as his colleague let her body collaspe to the floor, the light dying in her eyes, the blood pouring out over the cold concrete floor of the alleyway.Auri watched, a smirk played on his lips but an idea sparked into his head. (Sorry another short one to invite the action and also dinner is ready!)
