AI has applications, for sure, but why the everloving fuck do we need to use it to generature caricatures of our jobs, or to be a pseudotherapist 🥲 Main stream accessibility of AI was the worst choice that could've been made for it, imo

Art question: for doing like the art where you put pieces together, like a real photo of a horse on a background etc. what apps/places can you use that are guaranteed stock images?

I can also see the benefits, and there are certain coding programs that its beneficial for. My husband sometimes uses it for his work, but he works in chemical engineering and so it can be helpful with the math aspects and getting certain programs working correctly.

But there is absolutely no reason that people on Facebook need to make dumb pictures of themselves just to be "funny" or "trendy"

I still erase the backgrounds out by hand but it's satisfying to me

That said, there are good aspects of AI. I heard of a donut robot thing that turned out to be good at identifying a specific type of cancer cells, for example. But now in general it's fully out of control and horrible

Affinity Photo 2 has a module that can be enabled that runs locally on the computer. It's damned helpful for removing backgrounds.

One of the reasons I use PS CS6, it loooong predates any of that AI bloat. And no stupid subscription.

I understand the benefits of AI in some aspects, but it is way too much now, and using it for generating entire creative pictures, I just can't agree with it as an artist. Even all the AI art on DA makes me cringe...

And after 2 hours, I was finally able to find an email for support, but lets guess they are going to redirect me to using their AI bot that can't even understand the fact that I am trying to manage my late fathers accounts. It just keeps trying to sell a new contract to me.

To say I am furious and will burn a bot if I see it, is an understatement.

Yeah it's insane how much people are using it. In a goat medical group I'm in, there's occasionally a person posting "GPT said I should give my goat xyz because it looked sick" and it drives me nuts 🤦‍♀️

AI detectors are gonna be interesting since most art programs employ AI in some fashion now

I've learned a good few methods to tell AI art manually. Some data just can't be faked.

Sage grunted with a nod in response to her comment, wrinkling his nose slightly. "well...if we walk slow we might make it thirty," he noted, a ghost of a smile forming on his face for a moment before it was quickly changed into his normal bored expression. It was a mask he kept on well....it was easier that way. Besides, he couldn't be getting all friendly with the prisoners he was supposed to be gaurding. He could be respectful....he gave what he got, and so far this girl had been nice. But he wasn't stupid. He wasn't going to just become friends with them all. Wasn't going to share personal details with them. That was just askign for trouble.

Alleyah grinned slightly, something she hadn't done in a while, and slowed her pace, testing to see how true his statement was. She glanced at the guard then back to the small trees then back at the ground, giving slight hops every so often to jump on another leaf, a small upward tilt of her lips forming at the satisfying crunches.

Sage let out the ghost of a chuckle when he noted the way the girls face lit up, and he slowed his pace to match hers, watching her hop from leaf to leaf. It was amusing really, and made him wonder why she'd wound up in a cell. For murder of all things. It made him want to join her....to just hop around and have some fun. But he couldn't, he knew that. He supposed he'd never been able to just have fun. He doubted he could relax enough here, either, even when he wasn't with anyone. It was an odd feeling, needing to be so mature all the time when really he just wanted to mess about a little here and there.

Alleyah kept jumping around until the leaves stopped crunching under her busted up sneakers. She sighed. "Is there a field anywhere? Like somewhere to play soccer or softball or football or something?" She asked. Just speaking about her favorite sport made her tense up. Her future had been ripped from her grasp and she had nothing to do about it now.

Sage sort of cocked his head in response to the girls comment, humming lightly in thought. "I'm not sure. Got in last night," he admitted. He wasn't sure where half the things were still. "I can look around once I'm off. See what's around, find any holes in the rules," he added casually, not really caring very much about their rules.

"holes in the rules" she chuckled "You're funny" she shook her head, giving him a sideways glance. Ally shook her head and continued forward. "Good luck finding ont of those" she said, wanting to get back to Dale and annoy the crap out of him again

Sage sort of hummed, lips twitching into a sort of half smile. "Oh, it's easier than you'd expect," he noted mischievously, a slight glitter forming in his eyes. "Gotta have some kind of fun," he mused. "A cop isn't exactly.... thrilling. They're all fat for a reason," he added with a snort. It was true ....his job was literally to just sit there. Make sure no one killed anyone. Unless he had to kill someone. Then there was that, which was stupid.

She rolled her eyes. Why was she engaging in a conversation with him anyway? Ehh... she was bored. This was new so she might as well keep it going. "No. They're all fat because they sit and do nothing and eat seventeen doughnuts for breakfast" she grinned.

Sage grunted in agreement with the girl, shaking his head slightly. "It's probably more than that," he noted. "You should see the dumpsters out back behind the offices," he snorted. "That's all that's in it, is the fucking donut boxes." He didn't understand it....they should be fit, able to run and defend themselves and others. Not pig out. Being fat and slow on top of ugly didn't help anyone.

"So you're telling me helf those prisoners back there could've escaped long ago?" She cracked up a little, pointing her thumb over her shoulder. "Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me." she flashed him a grin before turning her head straight and watching the sky. it had been so long since she had seen the sky. "You know, you never notice how much you liked something until it gets ripped away... the moment it hits you is when you finally catch a glimpse of it again" she mumbled before thinking better of it. He was a cop. Why was she sharing any type of information with him?
