Sage sort of rolled his eyes at the captains first comment, even though the guy couldn't see him by then. "No, they normally just try to kill me," he noted lightly, despite how weary he was feeling by then. His hair was loose and mostly out of its messy bun, knotted and messy and long and really just getting in the way. He was sweaty and gross, and covered in blood some of which was his and some of which wasn't. He prob looked as bad as he felt ...and that was terrible. But even so, a grin formed on his face as the other captain entered the area he was in. "The pirates code says nothin bout using fire, now does it," he mused lightly, cocking his head slightly but tossing it aside all the same, setting to curtains to the side ablaze. The ship was captured.....and he'd rather it burn than be used by an enemy. Then he chuckled again. "Wasn't much of a stunt," he noted. "You should learn to keep your jewels protected, you know. I hate for you to be castrated like a mule in a fight one of these days," he added with a fake thoughtful look. "actually...no I wouldn't," he relented, pointing his knife at the other captains chest. "now are you going to talk or fight? I do believe there's some petticoats from Spain that might fit you if you just want to chat."

Taylor frowned at the curtains, lifting his hat and swiping the back of his hand across his forehead before replacing it one his head and raising his sword. "You know." He pointed his sword at the other and stalked forward. "I would quite like not to castrated." He moved forward once again bringing his sword down hard towards the other. "And I would prefer not to burn to death or drown, so I'd like to move about this quickly." Taylor could barely keep himself from opening panting- his chest was heaving. It was stifling hot below deck, especially with the smoldering fire in the corner. He could feel the sweat dripping down his brow as they fought, and as much as he hated a fight cut short, he almost wished this captain would surrender easily

Sage simply let out a lazy chuckle as the other captain mentioned keeping himself intact, and then when he mentioned moving things along. So, he wasn't all that interesting in fighting now that there was nothing to collect from his efforts. Aside from Sage apparently. "Oh, then who am I to keep you waiting," he crooned, flashing his sword to party and then attack, the both of them leaping lightly around as they fought. Sage only had so much energy left.... especially now that he could barely breathe since there was a giant fire behind him. Oh well. He was fighting a loosing battle, he knew that....but he'd fight until he dropped. Besides ....he'd kept his men, and the treasure they'd worked so hard for, safe. Hell, maybe he'd even go down with his ship. That would be something, wouldn't it. He wasn't sure if this captain would kill him or just lock him up somewhere...and in all honesty he'd rather be dead than forced to bow his will to another. Soon enough though, his movements slowed as his strength faded. He got slightly more sluggish, and instead of getting away from his opponents sword completely, he now bore plenty of small cuts and bruises. The other man wasn't perfect either....he'd landed hits of his own. But he was starting to spiral now. All he could do was keep going until he fell. That was how it had always been for him.

Taylor hefted up his sword again, his arms starting to feel incredibly jelly-like as the fight continued. The other captain had to be close to giving up, it felt as if the fight had been going on for ages, and the growing fire hasn't helping anyone. His bruises ached, he could already feel certain ones starting to swell under his clothes. The fire was licking at the tips of his boots now, having already consumed the curtains and had made it's way down across the boards along the floor of the ship, as well as the walls. The man coughed harshly into his shoulder, watching the smoke curl around the pair of them, before moving foreward with an exttra burst of energy, ready for the fight to be over and to be back on his own ship--hopefully with this captain in tow, but at the moment, he was just focussed on not burning up and dying. "Surrender, Captain, you can't keep this up for long."

Sage was gasping for air by the time the other captain spoke up, breath rattling in his throat harshly. But he slowly pointed a shaky tip of his dagger at the other man, shaking his head. "I will fight for as long as I need to," he choked out, moving to meet the other man's sword with his own again. He wasn't sure how much longer the fight went on after that, but it seemed like an eternity. Eventually though, his strength gave out, and the other man landed a hit which ended the battle. He found himself on the floor, cold steel against his throat and the other man pinning him down, keeping him from using the dagger he still had clenched in his fist. He was clearly mad about it all, as he was expected to be he supposed, but he just couldn't go by more. He'd already done far more than anyone would have imagined he'd could....but his crew was far enough away by now they'd be safe. So he was ok with his own fate. That would be up to the other captain...he could kill him, which seemed likely since he was pinning him down with a sword to his throat at the moment. Or he'd bind him, bring him to his own ship and toss him in the brig somewhere. Sage half hoped he'd just kill him here. He'd go down with his ship, his crew and treasure safe. That wasn't so bad, if you ask him.

Taylor coughed harshly into his fist, making sure to keep his sword pointed at the other captain, watching him for a long moment through the smoke and flames licking at his boots. He lifted his hat with one hand and swiped the back of his hand over his forehead to keep sweat from his eyes. He could let the captiam stay here and burn alive or drown as his ship does. It would be easier that way, he wouldn't have to worry about someone escaping or worry about someone else to feed and supply his own resources with. But...on the other hand, it he did take the other captian captive then there was always the case that the other man would end up as helpful somewhere or somehow. He scoffed and leaned over, snatching the man's dagger in his hand tucking it into his own belt before sheathing his sword and yanking the captain up with a hard arm around his arm. "Come along, captain." Taylor taunted with a grunt of exertion, pushing the other man up the stairs onto the main deck, shooing his crew across to his own ship before pulling the other man behind him.

Sage felt his lips curled in distaste when the other man took the dagger and then yanked him to his feet. He made a mental note that he would have to get that dagger back before he escaped. Because he would escape, and he would likely kill this captain when he did. He grunted as the captain yanked him around, shooting a venemous look over his shoulder but unable to fight anymore. Once they emerged from the hold, another group of men had grabbed him, binding his hands behind his back. It wasn't ideal, but there was nothing he could do about it besides curse at the men as they shoved him onto their own ship. He nearly fell a few times, but thankfully kept his balance each time. Of course, with his hair loose, the pointed tips of his ears poked through the hair for a moment. He normally kept them well hidden, so as not to revel his water nymph heritage, but one of the men let out a shout, calling their captain over and grabbing his hair, moving it to the side to show the other man the ears. "This one ain't human," he'd growled, to with sage scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Congratulations, you win the nobel prize," he sort of sneered, even though the man had a fistful of his hair and had yanked his head roughly to the side by said hair. Taylor frowned, watching the other captain with a hard squint. "Shush." He admonished the man, proweling closer and eying the points of his ears curiously. He reached out to run the tip of his pointer finger of the pointy edge of the man's ear before pulling away, lacing his fingers together behind his back and rocking up on the balls of his feet before he spoke. "What are you?" He asked, reletively easy going. He motioned toward the other members of his crew not holding the stranger to continue work, tilting his head to the side as he watched the other, his fingers starting up a fast rythmn where they tapped against his thigh. "I'd like you to tell me now, before I take you below deck. It's make it awkward if you escaped because of one of my own mishaps, hm?" He mused out loud, circling around the man, coming to stop in front of him once again. "You either speak now, or I take your dagger to you pretty face and have you tell me that way." He blinked, an easy smile coming to rest on his face, dimpling his cheek deeply, as he raised an eyebrow. "So, what will it be, Captain?"

Sage made the attempt to jerk his head away when the other Captain reach for his face, though he didn't get very far, considering the other man was still holding his hair rather firmly. So, he just glared daggers as the other Captain, not exactly appreciating the physical touch. Luckily, it was brief, and then he'd stepped back again, though it still irked Sage that his head was still being held by the hair. "Nothing special," he noted with a sort of scowl, giving the other Captain a rather bored look. "If I had any special powers that could help me escape or take your ship, I would've used them by now," he pointed out, rolling his eyes. Of course, when the other man started threatening him, the muscles in his jaw jumped as he grit his teeth together. "I already have a scar on my face, I doubt another one would do much," he noted again, a cocky grin forming on his face, despite his current situation.

Taylor hummed, and tilted his head to the side, watching the captain for a long moment before shrugging. "Fair 'nuff, I suppose." If the other man was lying, there was always the chance of escape, which wouldn't neccessarily be the end of the world. Worse thing that could happen would be he stole a boatload of treasure and gold and left to god-knows-where. Of course, the other man did have a solid point. If there had been any abilities he would've likely used them by now. "Fine." He paused with a mild smirk. "And I wouldn't be so sure, mate, I'm sure there's plenty of people lined up for you because of that scar, another one would just up the number." The captain flicked his fingers at his men. "But him below deck, use the shackles, one of you stay below to watch him. I'll come down to have a chat as soon as we get on course for our next port." The two grunted in awknowledgement, releasing the other captain's hair, only to tug him along by a heavy grip on his wrist. They pulled him down below deck, one of them giving him a thorough pat down, before tugging him into one of the cells, and locking heavy iron shackles around his wrists, each of them attatched to the floor. They both backed away and locked the door with swift, smug chuckles before one of them departed back up the stairs.
