Elowyn slowed to a stop as Dante did the same, shifting her purse to the other hand and watching him. "I don't think I will, but alright." She said lightly, the blunt words slipping from her before she could think. Without taking a moment to realize just how rude that was, she turned and made her way steadily to the main house, blowing out a long breath.

Dante's eyes twitched slightly, he hadn't expected the brashness. But he kept his mouth shut and watched her for a moment with his hands on his hips. And then he gave up on being insulted for the time being and walked off, toward the barn.

Not the eye twitch and mom stance)) Elowyn only talked to someone for long enough to find out where she was staying- once that was done, she left them in the dust and took her luggage upstairs to her room. It was nice- rustic, but spacious. Better than She normally had. Not that there was much to compare to or high standards to meet. She kept her suitcase packed, drawing out one of the only 'casual'pairs of clothes out of it and changing. Skinny Jean's, the same shoes as before, and a Nirvana crop top. Classy. She sat on her bed, throwing her sunglasses off and staring out the window thoughtfully, her face somewhere between being peaceful and disturbed.

STARTIN OFF STROOOONG, she gets kicked second day there? False comfort of "man I'm good with horses" because she can do a walk on a bombproof horse and then she just gets booted in the leg)) Dante didn't let her falter his mental work itinerary. Though she was on his mind, she wasn't what he'd hoped but, he was gonna have to deal with it. Hoping she would catch on to whatever she was planning to do here other than pet the animals fast. He glanced up the main house as he made his way to the arena, leading a bay pony with a young girl at his side- who was probably nine or ten. She had a helmet on and some fine riding boots. They were making idle conversation on their way to the arena, visible from all of the windows on the front of the farmhouse. As they got up to the arena he sidled up to a mounting block with the pony and seemed to be helping her figure out how to mount the bay. It didn't take long before she was on and he was on his way back to the barn. Back to his work. And his mind. Fortunately there was more for him to do of course.

Hehehe absolutely Hemejdbkwammsfjie this is so hard though because I hate people who ride once and think they suddenly know how to do shit- my cringeometer is rapidly beeping)) Elowyn was close to forcing herself to do something when movement from the barn caught her eyes. She watched Dante lead a girl and a pony across the yard and into the arena, tilting her head as she watched them. It made her feel stalkery, peeking out the window to watch the goings on, but she tried to pretend it was normal. After, she walked out of her room and into what used to be the office. Paperwork, affairs, transactions, accounts, all that lovely stuff from the previous owners. She was good with spreadsheets- they were something she could wrap her head around. Animals, she was decent with, seeing as she had volunteered often and had been gearing up to be a vet. Cattle, however, were a whole new game. Soe she decided to set most things concerning the current and estimated head of cattle aside, instead looking quietly over the rest of the papers.

HEHAH at least let her feel accomplished that she didn't fall off, hasn't been bitten or kicked and yknow *jinxed*)) It hadn't been too long til the sun set. At least it hadn't felt like it to him. He'd made himself some dinner and then did his last rounds by the animals, just checking the gates were all shut. And then finishing it off with the horses. All was well, in place, watered, fed, hayed. He sat down on a bale, leaning back on the stall door, and of course a horse's face in the nape of his neck, who he was gently petting. Even though his eyes were shut.

I see)) After shutting herself in the office for hours, she organized the paperwork and headed downstairs to get a truly nutritious dinner. Cereal. She went about as fast as she could, avoiding as many people as possible and introducing herself to the few she was forced to. She ended up eating alone in her room, sitting on her bedside table and staring out the window. Once she figured most people would be out of the kitchen, she went down and washed her dishes before making her way quietly out to the barn. She was quiet and her steps were tentative- again, just trying to avoid any and all contact. She froze a little when she saw Dante, then turned around and took a few steps away while his eyes were still closed. Then, she turned around again, debating actually going to do what she intended to. She wasn't sure if she could run away without seeming strange.

He'd have to have been there for ten minutes, enjoying the silence and the company of the horse who'd barely moved at all, his arm was resting on the edge of the sliding stall door. The footsteps stirred him from his half asleep petting, the horse was mostly asleep too. Heels, sneaking and barn were not meant to be in a sentence together. He opened his eyes and lifted his head slightly, watching her struggle to figure out where she was going. "...are you okay?" He asked in a slightly amused tone, concern and a confused smile were writtne on his face.

Elowyn blinked in surprise as he raised hi head, looking like she had been ambushed rather than the other way around. The slightest feeling of guilt made her swallow- she hadn't meant to interrupt whatever he was doing. She quietly twisted her fingers together, flushing slightly. "I'm fine." She said quietly, almost defensively as she walked farther into the barn. Past him and to a stall containing a small, grey gelding. She leaned quietly against the door, trying to pretend Dante wasn't there as she watched the horse. After a few moments, she stretched her fingers out gently, watching the little guy come up to her curiously. She started petting him, obviously, and leaned her cheek against the stall quietly.

He kept his mouth shut after she dismissed his concern. He blinked a bit harder and looked around slightly. Still scratching the bay's neck, but he let his arm come down. His shoulder cramping, the horse stirred slightly and lifted her head a little, he stood up from under her nose. He needed to go get in his own bed or something. He looked up at her admiring the quite grey. "Do you need anything before I go?" He asked, trying to be helpful and remove the annoyed tone before he crashed for the night.
