Sage frowned slightly, though he relaxed a bit when the girl said they didn't hurt her. He got the idea that her family was by no means wonderful, but at least it wasn't that bad. He was caught a bit off guard when the girl asked him about his own family life, but he'd asked her, so he supposed she could ask him as well. He sighed and shrugged. "I...it's just my dad and I," he admitted. "But, yeah...he doesn't like me very much." He shrugged slightly and rested his head against the tree behind him. "My boss isn't much better," he grumbled. "But I've gotten used to it. It's not so bad." Really, it sucked, a lot, but that was about it. It was easier to just get hit and walk away than try to fight his father. He had no idea why he was telling the girl all this....he didn't tell anyone this ..but he trusted the girl. For some reason.

"Oh..." Claudia was quiet for a moment, "Im sorry to hear that.". She felt like it was getting a bit awkward so she cleared her throat. "So...when do you plan on leaving? Tonight? Tomorrow? I am debating on whether or not I myself will be going back.". Claudia thought it would be nice to get away from her chaotic family, just be somewhere quiet. She knew being a vampire wouldn't help with things being peaceful, hunters always come...taring down your house to get to you. That had happened to her grandparents a few years back when she was only 9 years old. It broke her mother's heart...Claudia wondered if that had anything to do with her mother not loving her. Maybe she thought it was her fault?

Sage shrugged slightly, not really sure how to respond. Usually, no one really cared...people saw it happen and just ignored it. He sighed and shrugged again in response to the girls question. "Well, I was going to sleep and then go back, but I don't think that's going to happen, so I'll probably just go back in a few hours," he mused. The truth was, the girl was nice, and he just wanted to talk to someone who didn't judge him for his work or rank. He cocked his head slightly at the thought and looked at the girl. "you don't live in the village, do you? I've never seen you before." He would have recognized the girl if he'd ever seen her around...she was pretty, but strikingly pale...he had his suspicions, though he wouldn't ask if she was human or not. He thought she probably wasn't, but he could let her tell him on her own time, if she chose to.

Claudia shook her head, "No, me and my family live a pretty decent ways away from town. We don't like a lot of attention.". She looked away, she trusted Sage...why though? She didn't know, maybe he was just easy to talk to...Claudia stood up and looked up at the tree. She smoothly climbed up the tree, letting her legs dangle when she got to a branch. Claudia smiled down at the boy before laughing and climbing further. She looked down at him, "Can you climb?". She cocked her head slightly, still smiling.

Sage nodded at the girl's response, tilting his head to watch the girl climb up the tree before rolling his eyes with a grin before getting up and climbing up to the branch to sit down next to the girl. "Do you know how often I sleep in a tree," he asked the girl, though in a teasing tone of voice. "If you screw around in the forest and can't climb, there's something wrong with you," he chuckled slightly, his softer, more jokester side coming out now that he was feeling comfortable around the girl. He was probably being stupid....he shouldn't be getting so fond of her already, shouldn't be opening up so much, but he just couldn't help it. He turned to straddle the branch facing the girl and leaned his back against the trunk, keeping one foot firmly planted in the branch he was on to keep his balance a bit. The girl looked really pretty in the moonlight, though, and to his surprise he felt himself blushing and had to look away.

"Ha! Well, I am barely allowed to leave my house...explore." Claudia glanced at the boy, she turned her head away slightly when she felt her face getting warm. She had learned a lot about Sage in the past few minutes...it was nice, having someone to talk to, other than the poster of her past dog. It was sad really, the dog had died from a bear attack in the woods a few months ago, and her parents and brothers hadn't even noticed... His name had been Jax, he had been a beagle mix, she swore, he was the cutest dog you could get. Claudia found him missing for a few days, she went out to look for him when she found him he had been torn to shre-. She didn't dare think about it anymore, instead she looked at Sage and smiled.

Sage hummed in thought and nodded, acting like he was looking out at the moon when in reality, he just didn't want to blush any more by looking at the girl. "You should stop by the tavern one night," he hummed. "Although...if you stay the night, one of the waiters is normally shoved in there with you. So unless you want company you'll have to tell the guy who gives you the keys to the room you don't want a guy there." It was good information...and it would probably be a bit awkward if he was the one shoved at the girl. He really hated to work rooms...but it was that or clean all night, and he had to try and sleep at some point, so he did it. A tip, even a small one, was helpful.

Claudia blushed and paused before nodding, "That would be fun, at least I think it would...". She laughed and laid down on the tree branch, probably not the best idea...ah well. Just then she felt herself tipping, "Ah shi-" she fell, her head knocking the ground...hard. "Ouch." Claudia placed a hand on the back of her head, "Well, not doing that again." she chuckled and looked up at the boy. "Do you work at the Tavern like...24/7? Or just when they need you? Or when you want? Because if I shall be there I would like to see a face I know, at least." she laughed and sat up.

Sage was a bit worried that the girl had hurt herself, but when she sat up again and kept talking, he let out a quiet sigh of relief. He sighed and nodded, dropping down to sit next to the girl. "Unfortunately," he hummed. "If you show up I'll be there... I'll probably be working but I can say hi, since I'll probably be taking your order," he admitted with a kind of sheepish chuckle. "It's a nice place....cozy and warm. The owners just...a little too crusty for me," he hummed. Half of him wanted the girl to ask for him if she stayed the night...not because he wanted..that..from the girl...but because he trusted her enough that if he was in there with her, he could at least get some decent sleep. But asking might be awkward, especially at first, so he didn't want to do that.

Claudia chuckled and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, she yawned, her eyes were getting heavy, and it was like...11 or 12 o'clock. She looked up at the tree, wondering if she could sleep up there...probably not, after all, she had just fallen from it after laying down. Claudia decided to keep the conversation going, she liked talking to Sage, "Anyways, do you ever stay the night?". Oh god dang it, "Sorry, nevermind." she rubbed the back of her neck and looked away, blushing. Why the hell did she ask that?!
